  • @sbergman27 actually 1084 lol :) It's my favorite book ever!!! :) well not os much that one as the sequel lol

  • Before tonight, I'd never heard of either Carol Burnett or this particular sketch (or, in fact, anybody in this thing). Then my theater professor showed it in class.

Now? I think I'm in love!

  • @alynnidalar How nice to discover a truly talented actor and a great show. how old are you?

  • As I gotta watch this whole film which is four hours for a gcse exam at school!god plz help me:'(

  • @Bunhead1996 You could always ditch the movie and just read the Margaret Mitchell novel like we did in high school Romantic Lit. It's only about 1167 pages in paperback, IIRC.

  • The story line progresses somewhat faster than the original

  • @angelkater0se

    Gee, ya think? :P

  • Dinah Shore was such a rare treasure. She got Olivia de Havilland's inflection perfectly. Such a wonderful mimic!

  • 4:02

I always wished that Vivian Leigh had done that when Rhett took off. :P

  • Vicki Lawrence makes this skit. She is hilarious.

  • This is one of the great parodies of all times.

  • When she said "just stay in Terra" I thought she meant "terror" for a second.

  • @LastYearsRegrets If you do not know Gone With The Wind by heart you must be very young and should go to any source possible to get the DVD and play it.

  • @onebaud I know what Gone With The Wind Is but I saw the movie with my mother when I was like 6 so don't exactly remember it. I've been to Margret Mitchell's house too :D

  • @LastYearsRegrets Not necessary....but I think you'll enjoy it waaaaay more if you do!

  • @LastYearsRegrets It's very dramatic and long but fun to watch. And has one of the best lines ever that made swearing possible onscreen.

But no, you don't have to, although it makes things even funnier.

  • sissy is so funny !!!

  • vicky is killing me lmao

  • who is Melodey played by? she got a big had when she came in.

  • @davidduke180 Dr. Joyce Brothers. She was a big TV personality at the time. Very popular among the talk-show circuit, if memory serves.

  • @davidduke180 That was Dr. Joyce Brothers. She was a big TV personality at the time. Very popular among the talk-show circuit, if memory serves. I think she was married to Burt Reynolds briefly.

  • @Sue71

I believe that's Dinah Shore, not Dr Joyce Brothers.

  • @gambitcolumbus Whoops! You're right! :) Sorry about that!

  • "MISS SCARLETT!!!!! MISS SCARLETT!!!!! MISS SCARLETT!!!!!" LoL

  • @tricianfred

Oh, the sex and violence were there, just in innuendo and double entendre

  • @Earthlinked Did they even have streetcars back in 1861?

  • @puterboy1 YES!!! The first streetcars in America came in 1835 - but not in Altanta!!!!!

  • Can someone tell me the words between

    6:00 - 7:00

  • Starlet O'Hara is not gonna be trifled with. As God is my witness, these Yankees aren't gonna beat me. If I have to lie, cheat, steal and murder, I won't be defeated!

And when this war's over, I'll never, never, never, never.... I'll never go hungry again! If i gotta make tuna casserole, and go without my grits, this war won't get the best of me!

    *can't hear*

    Will you two shut up?!

  • @TabaquiJackal906 actually it's steat and cheal instead of cheat and steal. i've always found that humorous.

  • Sissy

    Brashley

    Melody

    what a hoot! this great

  • Can wwe simply call it what they did. it was called "Went with the wind."

  • Carol's parody was titled "Went With the Wind", and it aired when Dinah Shore was her guest star on November 13, 1976.

  • And right in the middle of a wowar!!! Too funny! =D

  • HAHAHAHAHA

    The Sissy impersonation was HILARIOUS

  • very funny!:)))))

  • This is absolutely amazing! :D

  • Does anyone know the exact year this was shown?

  • I think it first aired @ 1976. The skit was inspired by the first network airing of GWTW, and the very mild controversy if the censors would allow "damn" to be said. Also by the fact that CBS stretched out the movie to air over 3 days, so this is the condensed version, which I prefer.

  • my money's gone.

    Gone? Where?

    It went with the wind!!

    hehehe!!!

  • I'll never forget this tv show!!! Indeed I was so young but I do still remember some part of it !!! In the 60's Carol Burnett Show & Lucy show was the best TV show eintertaiment to the whole family...just unforgetable...

  • is this the novel??

  • Holy fetlock! I stand unequivocally amused. Ever so hilarious is Carol Burnett---It's just too bad--they don't have sit coms like this anymore with so many channels, the major networks won't take chances with new creative ideas.

  • Makes Me Laugh Every Time =D

  • I've seen Carol Burnett coming downstairs in the curtains, but I have never seen the whole clip before. This is hilarious! Thanks for posting.

  • she said if I have to lie steat or cheal. LOL!!!

  • this is true comedy at it's best...... people of today need to take notes

  • Bahahaha! Thank you for posting this! I actually grew up on this show, even though I'm only 24. My parents raised me on Andy Griffith and I Love Lucy. (My father being of that generation). :) I absolutly love Carol Burnett...this is classic comedy that not a lot of people of today can compete with. You don't have to drop F bombs to be funny. Thanks again!

  • ROFL.

  • hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe

  • Parody???? xD

  • i LOVEEE this!!!!!

    ahahahahahahaaha

    rhett is absolutely perfectttt lol

and when he's just standing there and he catches the vase when she threw it lmaooooooooooooo

  • i luv sissy in the real gone with the wind, but i luv her even more in this =)

  • When I saw this on TV for the first time I just about fell off my chair when Carol Burnett steps out in the curtain dress. Bob Mackie is the one who thought of that.

This has got to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

  • Hilarious!

  • I don't know how to answer that question. Could you give me some options? Is this:

    a) a parody

    b) actually Gone with the Wind

Am I missing any? I'll get back to you.

  • CLASSIC

  • is it just me or does she say "sh*t" at 3:48?
