this movie doesnt follow the poem at all. beowulf uses his bare hands to break grendels arm, he never has a romantic encounter, grendles mother doesnt show up until after her son is killed and beowulf was not a super natural being.

@divadocir So right, but shucks. Someday someone will make a decent rendition of the epic poem. Peter Jackson would be wonderful, after all, J.R.R. Tolkien was one of the scholars who worked with Beowulf back in the day and Jackson has acquitted himself so well with this type of material.

But it is strange no one has truely made Beowulf into a movie, the source material is so damn good for it.
