  • Beautiful...and moving.

  • As long as the Jewish spirit is yearning deep in the heart, With eyes turned toward the East, looking toward Zion, Then our hope - the two-thousand-year-old hope - will not be lost: To be a free people in our land, The land of Zion and Jerusalem. Kol ode balevav P'nimah - Nefesh Yehudi homiyah Ulfa'atey mizrach kadimah Ayin l'tzion tzofiyah. Ode lo avdah tikvatenu Hatikvah bat shnot alpayim: L'hiyot am chofshi b'artzenu - Eretz Tzion v'Yerushalayim.
  • I feel, perhaps a bit idealistically, that Israelis and the Palestinians need to just move on from a conflict that is nearing its century mark. The Israeli government especially needs a resolution: Israel has been losing the public-relations battle for quite some time, and its position in the Middle East could become even more precarious because of the Arab democratic revolutions popping up all around Israel. The blame game needs to stop.

  • too many msulims, too few bullets

  • @camotim May you recognise the I AM, light that exsist in all of us. Through this, we can aquire the super human courage to understand the madness of human division - we ALL are,THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.

  • These two men are the main reasons I always wanted to play the strings. Alan Menken made me want to play music; Williams and Perlman narrowed it down for me. Beautiful work.

  • Thank you! I love being Jewish, and so enjoy videos like this; they bring not only tears to my eyes and confirmation to my soul. Baruch Hashem!

  • There is so much passion and hope in this music. The cries of an entire people.

  • Beautiful. Gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes.

Six candles was a nice touch... may their memory be for a blessing.

Long live the Jewish people... עַם יִשְׂרָאֵל חַי

  • How GREAT is the LOVE in my heart for the jewish people!!!

    ADONAI ELONEINU, ADONAI ECHAD!!!

  • oh my goodness this is beautiful. So this is actually Israel's national anthem?

  • @girldetective18 after 2:12 it is

  • @bigpoopie69 you are absolutly sickening, and you iwll suffer greatly for it, the world doesnt need to get rid of jews and arabs, it needs to get rid of hatefull discusting people like you, yes arabs are very hatefull people, but do we kill them all because theres ones that would like to see us all dead, theres still good in many of them, they dont deserve our land but they also dont all deserve to die in your genocide fantacies, i pray that people like you will be destroyed, you are horrible :(

  • @idiot0of0fire

It is ironic that you are commenting on a John Williams rendition of "Hatikva" and sounding just like Luke Skywalker pleading his case that there's still "good in Vader". You've been watching too many movies, lolz. The only good Arab is a dead Arab and the Jews have ruined the world. The coming world war will see the Arabs and Jews eliminate each other...the niggers and mexicans will consume each other...the white man will rise again.

  • @bigpoopie69: Well, you have certainly gone over to the darkside. Next thing you'll be killing younglings. You need to realize there is NO difference 'tween you & those "niggers & mexicans" save but for the fact you are a murderous bastard.

  • @bigpoopie69 You, good sir, remind me of the of the pure and powerful white men who too saw ourselves as the master race and in attempt of racial purification, brought about the events in the begining of this video.

  • With words like @bigpoopie69 spewed we shouldn't expect an intelligent thoughtful view of humanity from this person. Throw this one back, it's brain isn't fully developed yet. Arabs are not hateful people any more than Chicagoans are rude. Some Arabs hate, and some Chicagoans are rude. But like most stereotypes, and the people who use them to justify their own prejudices, they are "preconceived opinions that are not based on reason or actual experience." In other words, he's an idiot.

  • @shasha2673 when i say they are hateful people im sorry to make it sound like they all are, but alot of them are taught hateful things, thats what bothers me about there quaran, it teaches of peace but then it teaches hatred and discrimination as well, i am friends with many muslems and they even are baffled by it.. so i wouldent even say its the people themselves, but more there religion, but anyways give me some of your opinion on it to

  • beautiful video and very moving.

    Shalom

  • wowv,very beautiful..!!

  • It brought tears in my eyes.Shalom.Peace be with you.

  • jewish music uses a lot of minors to good effect

  • There's a prophetic message somewhere (can't remember where I read it) that the Jews must wander and suffer until the second coming of Christ when their suffering will end. Don't know if I buy it, but the history of the Jews as a people seems to affirm it.

  • peace 'll come to this region .........am sure!

    greeting!

    salam-shalom-peace!

  • we are playing this in our chamber orchestra at school.its beautiful

  • its so sad :'(

  • Thank you! This is soooo beautiful!

  • I remember listening this in the movie, what's it called, Schlinder's List? It was beautiful. I cried my eyes out.

  • @kittyqueen132 so sad but have learnt from it don,t think so rwanda gaza sudan to name a few

  • and still we endure dispite the odds. that is hope

  • The music is beautiful and sublime, as most works of John Williams are. However, the message is wrong. There can be no lasting peace between Jew and Arab. Three and a half thousand years of bitter animosity is not cured by the latest world initiative (all of which have failed) or American presidential plan for peace. Give the Arabs the world and the Jews an Island and the Arabs will still try to annihilate their half-brothers.

  • thats pretty much true, i mean they are fighting for what, a little sliver of land when they have some of the biggest nations in the world?

  • @mwall444 The song is called "Hope"

  • @friedie1jeff The song is titled "Hope." The Hebrew translation is "The Hope."

  • @mwall444 This is a sad reality my friend. Bibi said "When all Arabs put down their guns, there will be no mor war, when Jews put down their guns, there will be no more Jews". Golda said "There will be peace in Israel when they love their children more than they hate us"

Last I checked they are still training their children to be suicide bombers.

  • @mwall444 well said!

  • @mwall444 Agree with you on that. And at 4:07 in this video is a tablet that reads, "Thou shall not kill". The correct translation from the Torah is "Thou shall not murder". The Torah is stringent about protecting human life but one is permitted to self-defense if one's life is in danger. If anything, this is the lesson for the Jewish people since WWII about taking a firm stand against their enemies.

  • WIth all due respect, I would like to comment on the historical accuracy of your point of view. I would like to ask you who holds three and a half thousand years of bitter animosity? If you are speaking of animosity between Arabs and Jews, you are wrong. The animosity between Arabs and Jews commenced with the establishment of Israel in 1948.

  • @barbsapozh

That's a very limited view of history. Whatever your view on the current Palestine/Israel issues - you cannot ignore the historical facts - The Jews have been at loggerheads with Arabs/Phonecians/Egyptians/Persians for thousands of years. eg Babylon conquered the whole of Israel at one time and took the population into 70 years of slavery. There were countless wars across history. This isn't anything new. The Holy land has been the site of bitter conflict since it was settled.

  • @BenjyT27 Thank-you for stating the obvious. I was responding to a previous comment I had read about someone's reference to three and half thousand years of animosity between Arabs and Jews. By Arabs, I am referring to the former populations of the historic Ottoman Empire. From a historical point of view, the animosity between the two peoples had not seriously commenced until the establishment of Israel.

  • @barbsapozh Have you never heard of two men named Isaac and Ishmael? Of Israel and Edom, Philistia, Elam, or Canaan? Nehemiah the Builder and Sanballat? No less than 3500 years.

  • @mwall444

Do me a favor..read my previous comments. thanks

  • @mwall444 Well, actually the arabs were the ones to take the jews to their land when Europe had the inquisition going, killing and expelling all the jews in 13th-15th century. They became scholars in baghdad and other arabic capitals and were well respected by arabs. Even when Islam began Jews lived in medina with muhammad until he banished them due to the fact that they refused to believe that muhammad was a prophet, however there was never a war waged against them due to that.

  • @najib136 And all Arabs must be Muslims? I said nothing of Muslims or their Mohammed.

Jews were also rich and educated in the middle ages, and the Moslem world took the cream of civilization, especially during the height of their civilization.

  • @mwall444

Nice going racist, but you fail. The Palestinians haven't been given a shit. Israeli's are colonizing Palestinian and Arab and have had expansion in their policy ever since the creation of the nation. Israeli is a nation and has all the rights as any other nation. But just like any other nation, it must follow international law. They keep taking more and more Palestinian land, and the WHOLE WORLD says it's unacceptable. Everyone except USA. Is the whole world anit-semtic?

  • @generalako MWall is right. Philista is Palestine (Pleshet). There arere a few Pleshetim and Arabs who have understood that Yisra'el belongs to Yisra'el and even prayed to see Yisra'el refounded as a state and regrouped as a nation. I am not saying that what Yossi Harel, Meir Kahane, Avigdor Lieberman, and their ilk have done is right; but either way, the prayers have been heard and answered, and the prophecies are being fulfilled. Even the evil of Yossi Harel et. al. was used for good.

  • @mwall444 Which in its own way perpetuates the Jewish victim complex and gives self-righteous justification to the mistakes and misdeeds on Israel's part.

  • @mwall444 Not all Arabs and Palestinians. Be careful. There are many Pro-Israel and even Christian Arabs and Palestinians who have prayed to see Israel refounded for a long time.

  • I am a forty year old man and i have tears in my eyes....this is the sound of ANGELS

    RIP MJ NIGERIA

  • Gorgeous,stunning,awesome-all this and even more. Bravo! Beavo! TY.

  • Stirring -- terrific - beautiful!

  • Wondeful video about hope and peace for Israel and the Palistinian state. I commend you,Spadecaller, for this great video presentation.

Compared to the beginning of most nations, Israel's independence and right to sovereignty needs to be accepted for peace in the region. With that acceptance, Israel will support the Palistinians in their quest for the same.

  • Hauntingly beautiful. Gives me shivers up and down my spine.
