Ohh, poor baby. It amazes me how some commenters are so dense about e-collars. It's to protect the dog from harming themselves!
My doggie has to now wear an e-collar (short for Elizabethan permanently because he has glaucoma and constantly scratches his eyes. One eye was already lost due to constant scratching. So, I'm trying to save his good eye.
It took awhile for him to adjust, but he eventually go used to it.
E collar is a reference used by a heck of a lot of people to the type that gives dogs an electric shock as punnishment not the ice cream cone collar. I was initially confused as to why you'd want to shock as well as the plastic collar after surgery. Thank you for replying.
Sorry, I didn't realize you didn't know what the collar was for. After surgery the vet puts this on the animal so it can't lick or pull the stitches out. It is clear plastic so it doesn't obstruct their view.
Riley had to wear the e-collar after yet another surgery to save his life. Every year & a half or so he developed peri-anal tumors which threatened his intestines if they were not removed. In this video Riley was 9 years old and had become blind a few months before. He was upset because he had to be in the collar again. He lived another 18 months after this surgery before kidney cancer took him from us. He had a very happy life with us and he knew he was loved. I will always miss him.

He probably couldn't stand the way you were talking to him like a two year old, if I was the dog I'd howl too until you stopped torturing me with that disgusting baby talk.
So sad! I agree that in the long run it is best for pets to be spaded or neutered although I do feel badly for the little fellow. I wish there was another alternative like a doggie vasectomy where they still get to keep their family jewels.

I'm sorry at your loss I was just curious as to why you were told to put an e collar on him. For what purpose??

I laughed at "whats the matter" since you knew and the dog dig.
But what a sad dog. Is he doing okay?

Being neutered is MUCH better than letting him breed indiscriminately and creating 1000's of puppies all suffering because they do not have a home.
haftaski 3 years ago
it's impossible to have 1000 puppies...
And, he needs a FEMALE to have puppies with. Which in the case of not having one, puppies can't be made in the first place!
AND, if you're about to say "Accidents Can Happen" - I say: BULLSHIT!
Dogs never leave our site or our home. And if they do, WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF THEM FINDING AN OPPOSITE SEX JUST WANDERING AROUND????
neutering/spaying is just ridiculous on my part. Your just making your dog go through unnecessary stress and discomfort/pain.
