  • they don't need a new suspension. they have wobbling tires :D

  • Run starts at 1:20

  • I feel sorry for that tire.

  • some serious grip there..wow. finally another cool shot. Next I wanna see the clutches engaging individually in slow mo.

  • 01:29 W T F :DDDDD

  • super extra ostrageous nitrous mega turbous softy SLICK TIRE ive seen:P

  • That's pretty cool.

  • if the pressure on the rear tires was lower and hit higher top speed it will look like a frisby instead of those wide ass tires

  • TIRE BECOME BIGGER=CHANGING RATIO=MORE SPEED

  • it did not deplete the tire at all. the tire was expanding from the centrifugal forces being put on the the tire. and it was flat at the bottom cause the forces being applied. such as the wheight of the car and the centrifugal forces.dont forget this car probably was moving around 300mph

  • What was going on from 0:47 to about 1:00 ?

  • @Zickcermacity they tune the engine more, then they burn out it only lets you push the gas so mutch. then they make it so you can full throttle

  • thats amazing how much the tire deforms i knew it was going to but the way it deformed was neat to see! thanks for uploading this

  • thats sweet. !! love how that tire warps and straightens out.

  • i saw my x gf's tits under that car

  • Is this a funny car or top fuel tire?

  • Thats crazy!

  • Remember... Goodyear Eagle xD

  • Holy crap 1:29

  • why the tires become so soft after the launch?

izzit the heat melted it when the car lauch?

  • no the pressure in the tires expand

  • what you mean?

  • @Lakshico It isn't the heat. They run low pressure and the tires are designed to be that soft. With those drag tires you want the tire to flatten out on the bottom when he takes off and is accelerating. That way there's more rubber on the ground. The heat from the burnout is to soften the tread of the tire even more and get some fresh rubber laid down to help with grip.

  • I bet goodyear makes a fortune on drag racing blowouts.

  • @nUaSvAy

    Not quite. lol

The tires are designed to deform like that at high speeds.

  • blowouts aren't anymore common at the dragstrip than anywhere else. Those tires are supposed to deform like that, it's how they are made. watch a top fuel dragster and you don't even need a close up shot to see the tires deform.

  • the massive amount of horse power is mad, see that tire deform.

  • you both are wrong they run one motor i worked the drags for 16 years some of he big guys like force have more then one on hand but most of them rebuild right there on the spot if they have an extra then they got a shit load of cash on hand and some of the engins are made for them but most the fime they make them thete selfs

  • Place your mouse cursor at the edge of the white tire mark at 1:22 and leave it there. The tire expands and the treads deplete like crazy.

  • I don't think we needed to place our mouse anywhere to see that. O.o

  • good reference to see just how much it throws that tread out there

  • @GoodEvenings there is no tread on a drag racing SLICK

  • @savageguy25 that is not completely true there is a small amount of tread on a drag slick but unless you are talking about a "cheater" slick then there is not enough for them to be street legal but wither way there is a very small amount of tread on a slick

  • Ya'll They dont exactly put a new motor in after every race... They overhaul it with a new cam, pistons, and crank shaft... If you've ever seen the crank shaft out of a funny car you would know why... They are spider webbed with factures...

  • What would happen if this tire was a tubed tire. With the inner tube thing.

  • probably the world will blow up.

  • The inner tube will need to be presuureised to extreme psi

  • The flex is amazing

  • there only runnin around 15 psi in there tires

  • thats to much i think my dad use to drag race and he said he only but about 7 psi in his tires NASCAR uses a minimal of 16 psi when tires start going left and right and these tires are close to three times that size.

  • ohh ok lool my bad i forgot the bigger the tire the smaller amout of psi needed lol thanks for correctin me man

  • no problem

  • that was insane looking! i have a lot more respect for slicks, and what they go there.

  • fuck! lets see a super slow mo of that that was awsome!

  • awesome vid! they should have more like this @ different points underneath the chassis.

  • are tou crazy??? O_O

  • wow amazing run

  • ive lost 2 minutes of my life

  • thats the track..funnys cars dont run on dynos..way to much hp...no dyno can hold 8000hp

  • try again

  • You sir need to look up NHRA Nitro motor specs, 8000 hp with 50lbs of boost!

  • Whats with ppl these days not believing anything they see...? O.o

  • A number of you are wrong. There are dynos that can handle the power these motors produce at the necessary shaft speeds. The reason they are not dyno'ed is because they would overheat. Those cars do not have cooling systems. And yes 8000hp is the estimated output.

  • They've dropped the estimate output to 7500hp do to a dropped back rev limit.

  • Yeah, they only race them once, then they have to overhaul? / put a whole new engine in it.

  • its awsome to watch them rebuild a whole new engine basicaly under a few sec's

  • I know, my teacher said theres a video on here about them overhauling an engine in 4 mins but i cant find it.

  • yeahh ehh

  • Lol, uhm no.

They take apart the engines after each run and inspect it.

Hell no they aint buying new engines for each run ...

  • no if you just putt it back together it will still be to hot there for they rebuild the motor with all new parts and they got parts for at least 3 whole motors in there trailers

  • They dont buy new engines, they already have them made, those engines are so powerful they only last for one run. Whats smackers said. They have some motors built already.

  • Lol bullshit.

How the heck do you think they can afford it?

The sponsors can't pay for new engine every run.

They carry 3 engines to every race (approximatly) and after each run they take apart the engines and checks and replaces bearings etc.

May I ask, have you ever seen a funny car IRL?

    Doesnt seem like it.

  • dude those cars cost over a hundred thousand, same with the engines, there really expensive to race, and they do have the money to afford all that stuff, they started from little riced civics to these super expensive cars, and yes i have seen a funny car irl.

  • You obiviously dont know what you are talking about.

I took a summer job in a Pro Mod team and from there, you can pretty much see everything.

    So please, just stop.

  • Right, they probably didnt tell you about the other engines, the engines get so hot they cat race them the next race, man whatever, maybe its just your place thats just too cheap to have 3 motors.

  • amazing to actually see the physics of it

  • The wing makes about 12000 lbs of downforce on the tires at full speed and it shows here!

  • Woulda been better with sound or something...

  • AMAZING!

  • what car is it

  • it's a top fuel

  • its a funny car its what the description says

  • wow! the tire looks so bouncy!!

  • deforms the tire in the first moment after the start?

or is it the cameras fault?

  • it deforms the tire

  • no the tires actually do that

  • @Skout86

    also wen its moving

  • @Skout86

Nope - you were right the first time - tire deforms due to hard/sudden accel and low relative tirepressure.
