I love red they are my favorite and none of thier songs I dislike but they are not that good live....just saying. I don't know maybe I have to be there but every live video of them so far...they didn't song that good without the computers making all the enhanced sounds for the actual songs.
@wildman5950 Mike Barnes (the vocalist) is the only one without hair. If you look at the podcasts or photos of Anthony(guitarist) and Randy (basist), they have buzzcuts.
Skillet is Skillet and Red is Red. Theyre both amazing. Both Christian. And people need to stop. Just because its not the exact same music doesnt me ones more Christian than the other.
Okay I will get yelled at a lot for saying this! RED sucks they can not play they suck. Who cares about a show. The fire and such. It's just fire go home and light up a fire place. Skillet can actually play. Skillet actually puts God into their concerts. RED does not talk about God at all in concerts. I don't think RED should be at Christian music festivals
@01skillet Are you kidding?? Skillet sold out when they released Awake. A majority of the album's songs only talk about guy/girl "You had your chance" or "Take me back" crap. RED, on the other hand, Has gotten progressively more active in dealing with real world issues such as realizing one's identity and not conforming to the mold of the world. You say they can't play? listen to their music on a video that doesn't have a well-meaning fan recording a low-quality video while trying to sing along.
@TheWildHeartsDesire Are you a Christian do you know what the meaning is behind Skillet songs I'm a diehard fan I love Skillet Most of that stuff you call crap is dealing with the world and talking about that get your facts right I don't like their musicians is that a problem I've seen them live it wasn't that great Skillet I don't like RED I despize the bass player thanxs my choice
@01skillet Sure it's your choice. It was your choice to comment on a RED video stating that you hated the band, all the while criticizing their talent and attacking their mission. It was then MY choice to defend them. Yes, I'm a Christian, and I'm sick of this mamby -pamby Christian music that talks about nothing but fluff. Explain to me how "You missed my love, girl, you shoulda coulda been so good." deals with real issues that Christians face or glorifies God?
@TheWildHeartsDesire To be fair, Should've When You Could've is just one of Skillet's songs. Their song "Whispers in the Dark" is about how God is always there for you, Hero (if you take a Christian perspective of the lyrics) is about how Jesus died for our sins, Monster is about regretting your sins, Awake and Alive is about remaining strong in your beliefs despite what others say. Better Than Drugs is about how God is, well, better than drugs. Skillet made me want to be a Christian.
@sev00177 I am a diehard Skillet fan, and I agree. I just think Awake marked the beginning of a sellout process that I hope will get turned around in their next album. I believe I already said Comatose was amazing. That being said, I was using Awake to shut down a person who was presenting Skillet as the perfect Christian band and attacking Red's Christianity. I've been a Christian since I was 4, so I don't have a "This band got me saved" testimony, but Red made me want to STAY a Christian.
@TheWildHeartsDesire Ran out of room. Yes, not all of Skillet's songs have a Christian meaning, some of them are personal to the lead singer such as Those Nights (spending nights with his best friend so he wouldn't have to go home to his father). All of their songs, however, people can still connect to, whether or not they're Christian. There are people that can relate to songs like Those Nights even though those are very personal to the lead singer. I'm not attacking your opinion by the way.
@01skillet I'm a Panhead, ok? I don't hate Skillet. Comatose was one of the best albums of the Christian music industry in it's day. I'm saying that if your going to attack RED - a solid Christian band with a good message - by comparing them to Skillet (who in your opinion is sooo much better) you'd best get your facts straight about what exactly is going on. Awake was created to appease the fanbase, bottom line.
In short, think before you speak or keep your mouth shut.
@TheWildHeartsDesire In regards to the meaning behind the "majority" of the the songs on Awake, I have this to say. Don't Wake Me can be about anybody that you care about. One Day Too Late doesn't have to be about a person either. It's Not Me It's You doesn't have to be about a person, it can be about any bad influence whether it be drugs, alcohol, or even Satan. I'll give you Should've When You Could've though. Believe John wrote for his wife and Forgiven can be talking about God's forgiveness.
@TheWildHeartsDesire Ran out of room. Sometimes doesn't have to be about a person either, it's just about regretting your anger. Lucy is about abortion, Dead Inside is just about feeling, well, dead inside. Would It Matter is just about wondering if you've made enough of a difference to anybody. The rest of the songs I've either explained already or they don't need explaining. I agree that Comatose was a better album, but Awake has some of my favorites like Hero, Monster, and Awake and Alive.
Holy crap, that's how you open a show. I saw them on their Nothing and Everything tour with Disciple and Head before Until We Have Faces was released and the stage props from the Innocence and Instinct era were nowhere near as epic as this. (Though the Confession/Shadows opening was pretty good. But still not as awesome this.) Now if only they'd come through California again.
Wow! I really wanted to go to this show, I'm about 6 hours away and couldn't get enough money, looks like it was a great show! Red definitely knows how to put on a show, great video.
Bahaha...I was the guy screaming "OH MY GOSH" when they lit up the sign before the curtain dropped. I think I yelled it about 30 more times when the curtain finally did drop.
daam that dude can scream!!
