  • Nice landing in Nice. :)

  • Nice is the niciest town in France, also the airport with this magnifi approach

  • Damn Scarebus called me a retard!!!!!!!!

  • They should seriously replace "retard" with something else. I know it means "idle", but.... come on!! :))

  • good landing on that shitty airport location

  • retard means to retard the throttel

  • Doesn"t have this runway an ILS system?

    So weird airport.

  • how do you put airbus in reverse, like in a Boeing for example 737 they have reverse levers on the throttles in airbus a320 a330 a340 etc do they just continue to slide the throttles back pass idle

  • wow.nice video

  • @MrTillster What? I love british pilots too being british myself... Perhaps you misunderstood my comment... Murph1331 said "why is the accent brittish?".... Its called sarcasm...

  • Seems to get a running gag about "retard". But you know, in a boeing nobody get´s a command to put the throttle to idle. So Airbus is more up to date right ? ;-)

  • Retard, Retard... It's why American pilots find it so difficult to fly the Airbus aircraft - they keep laughing uncontrollably every landing :)

  • @handsfan american pilots r way better than brittish

  • Retard means to retard(=decrease) throttles to idle, which will make the aircraft loose altitude and land softly because of the height (which is about 10 feets). I know the word was chosen by French guys ...

  • WHAT A NICE,,,RETARD...RETARD,,RETARD,,IS IT LIKE A KIND OF REVERSE????IT SEEMS,,,,BUT IT'S OUTSTANDING,,PERFECT LANDING

  • @TheBlacky87 retard means idle

  • @Murph1331 Perhaps its because it is a British pilot thick shit.... Just a hunch !! :l

  • @Mattpadge22 ...... Thanks for that......

  • @Mattpadge22

with a name like murphy your calling the pilot british thick shit............................ when your mum lets you out , go back to picking potatoes, the fresh air might do your brain cells some good.presuming you have some !

  • thats not a very nice autopilot...retard... is that a french thing or?

  • the autopilot helps the pilots alot to take rest because they lose there consentration gradually along the flight this is one of the best advantages of the modern airplanes.

  • i really feel with the commertial pilot when he is at the end of 12 hours flight ... all the crew will be exuasted and tierd

  • very nice video dude

  • Nevermind the Retard...why is the accent Brittish????

  • @Murph1331 because airbus are european...

  • retard retard retard....i get that it means to slow down but its still funny

  • LOL, Each time they land a plane they get insulted. Great way to end a long and hard day's work;-)

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 40, 20, Retard !! lmfao ! Hillarious dude !

  • lol retard xD

  • really nice landing! no bounce at all!

  • at 00:12 :

F/O : Hey man there are topless girls on Nice's beach

    CPT : Ok, let's go !!!

    at 00:22 autopilot Disengage

  • Autopilot disengage at 00:22

  • LFMN or NCE....

  • where is this airport located? let me know please

  • LFMN NCE

  • @Luis7771000 Nice, south of France

  • @Luis7771000 France

  • fantastic approach - nice landing 5*

  • this is a very nice city

  • xD 40, 30, 20, RETARD RETARD RETARD!

  • The AP just called you a f**retard !

  • AAhhhhhaaa hahahahaha

  • @plumbernumber LOLOLOLOL

  • @plumbernumber LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLOL

  • @JVhapu Did they program that or is it supposed to make you feel shitty that your suck at flying?

  • @JVhapu means idle the engines

  • @JVhapu HUHHUHUHUHUHU YU SO FUNNAY OMG IT SAID RETARD HUHUHUHUHUHUHUH

    Idiot.

  • @CPRailRTC Lol never thought im gonna be highest rated :P anyways thats 4 months ago so dont call me an idiot for thinkin somethings funny..

  • Nice. Very nice calibration. Wind was tricky but nothing an old pilot cant muster.. or Master that is !!

  • FRANCE ROCKS!!!!!

  • actually when he was saying retard ,they where talking about george bush/ tony blair/ and the chief of the metroploitan police

  • @geisterbahn1 and donald trump

  • Marvelous !!!

  • A perfect landing like that and they get called 'retard' 'retard' 'retard'.........bit unfair ennit?

  • lol do you know what it means?

  • jjtc1000 retard retard retard

  • I know i know , take it easy

  • yeah, hahaha, nice one, it actually means reverse thrust engage,,,:-)

  • no it dont...it means bring throttles to Idle

  • so so goood landing

  • Whats the meaning of hundred above and minimum?

  • 100 above = 100feet above descision(minimum) alitude. At this altitude the pilot should have the runway in sight and consider landing or go-around.

  • superbe video

  • Fantastic! 6 stars!!

  • great touchdown~!

  • must be extremely challenging for the pilots to do a visual approach witch such a huge bird...

i hope i'll find out someday...

    good job!

  • uhh wtf? Airbus A320s are not big birds at all

  • true

  • Compared to a Skyhawk sure :D

  • Its like the santos dumont airport on Rio de Janeiro, only that that one has short runway and the sugar loaf in front....

  • v v good approach!!

  • No, it is RETARD, not RETURN!!! But it means that the pilot has to pull back the throttle to idle

  • lol what's it saying at the end? retard retard retard lol

  • Telling him to idle the engines.

  • are you a real pilot ediot? he did a great job with the landing.

  • nice approach

  • wen i flew to nice i landed from the other way coming from england i remeber on my last day walking aloong on the left watching the planes

  • this pilot loves flying on instinct.. he's the sort of pilot who doesn't like ILS entries..lol most of them prefer the challenge..

  • Well ATC cleared him for a visual approach to 22R, So he was not cleared to autoland, not sure if there is an ILS in LFMN, would prefer to fly a visual instead of letting the plane fly.... who wouldn't ! hehe

  • Nice views of the place

  • I was like "why don't I see the runway at all??? pilots must have really good eyes to notice it...." then I saw it on the left side when the plane kept turning.... XD

    Good job!

  • Practice makes perfect :)

    He is a pro!!!!!

  • Thats what I call a cross wind, beautiful job of ligning up the aircraft and what a smooth landing

    Great Job

  • any pilot who didnt know what retard meant would be offended to hear the gpws say RETARD RETARD lol

  • lollll

  • retard means reverse thrust it means back to idle and then reversing the thrust at that time the reactors will fuction on a oppsite way , 100 above means 100 fett above before landing or touching the ground on a specific altimetre

  • 100 feets above MNMs ;)

  • i got a simple question what does retard mean just before the plane hits the ground!!!!!!!

  • Close the thrust levers.... thats all

  • awesome landing terrific jobs guys!!!!!!!!!

  • the note of the jets change a lot in the last minute, is this done manually? I'm presuming it is, but I don't know much about Auto-throttles so could someone point me in the right direction please?

  • the autothrust maintains the approach speed during the the landing phase. any fluctuations in airspeed (either due to wind or pitch changes) are compensated by the autothrust. this can be done manually if desired.

  • does retard means idle?and if it means idle ,then is idle same as neutral in car??

  • yeah essentially!

  • yeh i think it just means to reduce the throttles

  • What does "hundred above" mean?

  • For each approach you have a height which is the last point a decision to continue to land must be made based on the weather (legal requirement). This is known as "minimum's" and the auto callout by the computer "hundred above" is one hundred feet above that height. It's a reminder.

  • 100ft above minimum

  • yeah u r right i was just thinking how much fett i should eat

  • Retard Retard - five !

  • Smoothest landing i've ever seen. Bravo!

  • i love it when it says retard

  • Woah how wobbly!!! I always thought pilots had it lined up about a million miles away lol cant wait until i can be one :D

  • it looks nice in nice

  • smooth landing, but i would hate being called a retard afterwards!

  • lmao

  • ha!

  • Hehe, I can imagine that. However, "retard" means that the flight computer is telling the pilot that he's slightly overshooting the threshold.

  • That is NOT correct! the "retard" call is simply a reminder for the pilot to close the thust levers and for anything, but a autoland it will come on at 20ft.

  • Whatever you say flyerboy! By closing thrust levers, do you mean go idle? I know a pilot who did just that. He lost his commercial certification. What if you need to abort?

  • the "retard" reminder is to close the thrust levers. Don't know where you got your flight training from dude.

  • Well, "RETARD" as information means that "you're late". If that is with reference to thrust and/or relative altitude doesn't matter. However, since virtually all landings are vectorised, overshooting is no longer a problem whereas throttles are still manual. Hence, you're right, it was unfair of me not to mention throttles. And you're also right, you don't know where I got my flight training. I do :-).

  • After the plane is on the ground its normal for the pilot to go idle. If it is not on idle then you cant use the reverse thrust. Its as simple as that. And anyways, arent u supposed to go idle when you are like 20 feet above the runway so that the plane will come down. Im not a pilot so im not 100% sure, but i think thats what they do.

  • Well you're wrong about that. On the Airbus, throttles go to Idle regardless if you've moved the levers back or not. So that's not really an issue. And yes, you're supposed to go Idle simultaneously with touching down or just before. But not too early, if you may need to reject and goaround. If the throttles are on Idle at that point, you won't have sufficient time to gain thrust for that goaround. Pilots have actually lost their licences for going Idle too early!

  • Under Autothrust, yes the thrust goes to idle when touching down, but you must close the thrust levers so you can select reverse thrust. Under manual thrust, if you don't move the thrust levers at touchdown (start doing that at the 'retard' call) then the thrust remains proportional to the angle of the thrust levers (TLA) and touching down with thrust on is much more of an issue than selecting idle to early. Think of how much your stopping distance is increased with thrust still on...

  • Oh ok. Thanks for clearing that up. I had an idea, but i wasnt 100% sure.

  • It is highly unlikely that a pilot would perform a go around at 20ft.

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm impressed how late the pilots line up the runway for landing. I would never leave it that late on FSX or a simluator but then I don't have the visual scope (or experience) that these pilots have.

  • there was a slight cross-wind, thats why. Beautiful vid...thanks for not adding music to it :)

  • because its written on the charts

  • Yea, the approach is like that. Its a non precision approach. and its visual.

  • you so are not a pilot!

  • it looks like my flight simulator lol

  • you must have some awesome simulator!

  • i meant flight simulator

  • wow! I've just been there (Nice)... There is 1 plane /minute taking off on one runway and 1 plane/minute landing on some other runway. They always fly so you can have a good view over the beach and some parts of the town. And when the plane is approaching the runway, from the passenger seat it looks like it will land on water :). Very good vacation spent there. Thanks for the video.

  • i sworn i just saw i flying pig at 53 secs

  • i saw it too

  • wow........

  • where?

  • just watch it at53 secs so fasy yet so fat.....

  • i cant see it

  • its time to let on jdepersis.....

    there is no flying pig.......

  • IT WAS FLYING COW, NOT PIG...

  • Why every body say "lmao" cause retard is saying after 20ft...This aircraft says everytime retard at this moment...

  • lmao ....hahahaha....did it say retard after 20....hahahah

  • Yes, it says retard because they should have idled the thrust at this point, if they didnt it would keep saying it.

  • did the thing say retard after it said 20 lmao

  • Airbus 320 dont yall look at the title and description

  • what airport?

  • cote d azuer...i think its in france...not really sure but its somewhere in europe lol look it up

  • It's Aéroport Internationale Nice/Côte d'Azur

its in Nice, France I live there right by the airport and looking at planes landing from the beach is great

  • ok thats real cool

  • what plane?
