Just bought this dvd online as a surprise for my mum... she's been a duranie for thirty years and she finally gets to see her favourite band in brisbane next year :D yay!
I used to think (when I was 11) that those FIVE trucks were for each member of Duran Duran... ah the thinkings of an in love duranie.. DURAN FOREVER!.. palpitations just watching this again!.... LOVE JT.. always will!..
OMG! oh... my... god... I love YT... I really do. I watched this video every day for a whole summer when I was 14. We even walked around talking in English accents every day because of this video. Gah! Lollll... Thanks for posting this! Brings back memories... sigh. Mannnn I miss when MTV was good and actually played videos.
I remember going to my mate's house friday nights and watching Friday Night Videos, waiting for Duran Duran to come on. Watching Culture Club, The Cure, Billy Idol, Michael Jackson......those were the days........
OMG, I would have sold my soul for this band in 1984. I still get chills when I hear the opening music for this documentary. Such a HUGE part of my teenage years.
Wow this brings back serious memories, I turned 40 today, saw this when it first aired, I believe I was 14....26 years later I remember sitting there watching it as Duran Duran was my favorite band, and is still, after all of these years, one of my favorites, unfortunately only got a chance to see them all together live once and that was a few years ago when they toured for Astronaut. Come on Andy, get back with the band, everyone make nice and put out another awesome album.
@roxette2:- Yeah, it's great to see people acknowledging him. He is a supreme talent. There are so many positive comments I could make about him but I'd be there all day LOL! Like you, I adore the rest of the band too but sweet Nick has that certain something special..........the stuff of dreams.
@goodanswergoodanswer, i am 40 years old and have liked him all this time although having said that all the group are fab i have been an avid fan from the word go
I remember waiting to see this with great anticipation. I was crazy for the guys back then. They're still outstanding musicians! Hard to believe it was over twenty years ago.
I think the beginning is the best part because you can just enjoy the music and the eerie glow of the trucks and then scenery and you don't have to see the band that much with their gay looking 80's hair styles.
@mingitrash Yes...unbelievable...before I got saved...I wanted John taylor so baddd..and I hated Nick taylor's wife back then...I was s o jealous...and don't even talk about John taylor's girlfriend, the covergirl model...I hated her even more...and what was dope...I am an african american sis, 38...back then for someone to dig a person opposite race was still taboo....but we didnt care...all the sisters in my school dug Howard Jones, spandou Ballet, tiger Beat,
Yeah for a brief time in the early to mid-'80s the atmosphere in pop culture was more accepting of races. Part of it was because of MTV exposing a lot to more people. Look at the popularity of "We Are the World", of Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie at that time, as well as "The Cosby Show". Now, there may be more White people who like rap and R&B music, but they are more into and only accepting of the negative characteristics.

That part of the video was recorded in Toronto and New York, so it may have been Maple Leaf Gardens, but I could be wrong.
