and just why is that? I mean, there is no actual reason for women to shave their armpits except social pressure. It's not like it's not hygienic or anything...it's just that society, and especially males, decided that women need to shave off almost all of their bodyhair, which by the way I find to be incredibly time-consuming, and so we comply...personally I would find it extremely liberating if I could shave a few places less without being a laughing-stock for society...

I'm a girl and whether I shave my pits or not completely depends on my mood and the occasion. I don't think it's hypocritical to complain about the pressure. I need people to take me seriously and that takes less time if I comply with standards. And, sure, I'm a part of society...isn't that the whole point of founding nations and so on? The important thing, in my opinion, is to be able to distinguish between your own opinion and that of society. it doesn't mean you have to go against it.
