He's not belching -- this is the sound a frightened and agitated bird makes. Whoever owns the bird is doing it a terrible disservice and shouldn't be surprised if this bird bites. African Greys take a tremendous amount of work -- please consider putting him up for adoption.

This bird is a timneh (African grey parrot). I have one of these birds and I can tell you that this one is not belching. It is growling because it is either angry or frightened.
