Well remember it could of just been a cover up for the moment because a German officer was on to their game. So it might have not necessarily have been true.

The only one was the Major Hellstrom in the bar after Hicox gives himself away. Operation Kino wasnt introduced until the 4th chapter and it never mentioned any German being on to them. The original plan in Operation Kino was to send Wicki, Hicox and Stiglitz because they could all speak German fluently, the problem is Stiglitz is notorious throughout the German army, so I dont understand why he was to be one of von Hammersmark's guests.
