Nobody really bullies gay people anymore -_____- they just overreact and want to kill themselves, there are always going to be people who don't like the way you live, you've just got to learn to deal with it and stop being such a pushover. This was a student who was proud of who he was and laughed off being called names and having things thrown at him. Look up the statistics yourself, take a look at some of the hate crimes and then come back here and say that nobody really bullies gay people.

I started my own "It Gets Better" series on Youtube because of all the individuals who are committing suicide due to their difference. They need to understand that not compromising their identity for anyone else is what translate into success around the world.
Your sexuality should never be something that labels you. It does shoud not categorize you, and it does not define you. In fact, it should hardly even matter to the people who love you most. It might as well go under a list of hobbies.
Ok, how the hell are people "born" gay ?!?! To me people choose to be gay because they don't explain how they're "born" gay . And it kind of offense me in a way because I can list a lot of reasons of why I was born with what I was born with. And they can't , and what I was born with isn't common .
I really wish IGB would focus on all suicide and not just the gay/lesbian suicides. I only know 3 people who committed suicide all of which were straight. I'm not trying to be antigay at all, I support this 100%, but I wish they would leave politics out of it. Instead focus on preventing depression and bullying in all high schoolers. Just my opinion though.
@grevejp44 I can see your point, however it's not about politics. Being gay is not political, it's a way of life, just like being straight. Speaking as a straight person, I have seen the rise in gay suicides, which HAS been caused by the increase in gay rights being pushed into politics, but the statement itself is not political. I do agree that they maybe should also add at least some tidbits of "or if you're straight and being bullied", but the outbreak of gay teen suicides is alarming.
@EvilKlaw maybe political wasn't the right word, gay rights and suicide prevention are completely different issues. Like I said one of my friends was straight and he committed suicide due to bullying. If they didn't try to focus on both gay rights and suicide prevention and instead focus on suicide prevention he may have related to these videos more and may still be alive today.
@grevejp44 Right, but the video itself isn't about gay rights. It's aimed at a current epidemic with the youth of today. Doesn't make straight suicide any less of a big deal, but These (all gay keep in mind) individuals at Pixar, all felt they should put their words in to help kids that are just like them. It's their prerogative to speak out to what THEY related to. I would encourage you to find a anti-suicide video though, and spread that as well! Suicide is of course very serious, gay or not.
@EvilKlaw Oh don't get me wrong, if it came across that I'm against IGB you are mistaken, I just wish they would have stories on all types of bullying instead of it being 95% of the stories being about anti gay bullying. Lets say 3/4 suicides are gay teenagers(not an actual statistic) that means IGB doesn't focus on 25% of suicide victims. They could easily focus on that 25% instead of just helping 75%.
@grevejp44 I dunno, to me thats like not supporting breast cancer specifically, and instead support all cancer research. Which in theory is for sure better, but not realistic. We need to focus on individual problems at certain times, with certain audiences, otherwise the message could fall on deaf ears.

You're going to be dealing with a higher incidence of disease, mental illness, higher likelihood of being an alcoholic, a 1 in 5 chance of catching HIV if you are a man, and a lifespan 8-20 years less than all men. Nice statistics there bro. Really convincing me to change a part of myself that is immutable. Ever think about how additional life stressors lead to mental illnesses and addictions? And yes, by additional life stressors I do mean the verbal, physical and mental abuse all LGBT people will experience at some point in their lives. Being gay isn't an answer, in the same way that it isn't a question. It just is.
I'm not gay, but I know some of these feelings and sometimes I watch these videos telling me that life gets better.

Thanks for the video, it actually made me cry, to think of everything I've gone through and to think that my life IS GETTING BETTER. I really wish IGB would focus on all suicide and not just the gay/lesbian suicides. I only know 3 people who committed suicide all of which were straight. I'm not trying to be antigay at all, I support this 100%, but I wish they would leave politics out of it. Instead focus on preventing depression and bullying in all high schoolers. Just my opinion though.

@grevejp44 I can see your point, however it's not about politics. Being gay is not political, it's a way of life, just like being straight. Speaking as a straight person, I have seen the rise in gay suicides, which HAS been caused by the increase in gay rights being pushed into politics, but the statement itself is not political. I do agree that they maybe should also add at least some tidbits of "or if you're straight and being bullied", but the outbreak of gay teen suicides is alarming.

@EvilKlaw maybe political wasn't the right word, gay rights and suicide prevention are completely different issues. Like I said one of my friends was straight and he committed suicide due to bullying. If they didn't try to focus on both gay rights and suicide prevention and instead focus on suicide prevention he may have related to these videos more and may still be alive today.

@grevejp44 Right, but the video itself isn't about gay rights. It's aimed at a current epidemic with the youth of today. Doesn't make straight suicide any less of a big deal, but These (all gay keep in mind) individuals at Pixar, all felt they should put their words in to help kids that are just like them. It's their prerogative to speak out to what THEY related to. I would encourage you to find a anti-suicide video though, and spread that as well! Suicide is of course very serious, gay or not.

@EvilKlaw Oh don't get me wrong, if it came across that I'm against IGB you are mistaken, I just wish they would have stories on all types of bullying instead of it being 95% of the stories being about anti gay bullying. Lets say 3/4 suicides are gay teenagers(not an actual statistic) that means IGB doesn't focus on 25% of suicide victims. They could easily focus on that 25% instead of just helping 75%.

And now it's my motto. Whenever something bad happens (ex. Friend problem, family problems, ppl making fun of me sometimes) I just close my eyes and tell myself "It gets better." it works every time:)

2. It's very difficult to tell what the original intentions of the Bible authors were with their words. Language evolves in a very tricky way. Ideas change as well, people did not always believe what you are saying now.
