I think some of the bit above in "What is atheism" about strong atheism and weak atheism is silly. It's like religious people trying to judge who's the most holy. I don't believe in gods like I don't believe in flying pink elephants however for all I know there just might be (slim, I know) flying pink elephants living on some other planet, so I suppose that this must make me a "weak atheist." Very silly. There's enough stupidity in religion without bringing it to atheism.

scriptures are taken completely out of context as well as they are from the Old Testament. What you don't understand is physical death is not a a problem for God. Death is how we understand the real problem. When someone dies we are hopelessly separated from them. Spiritual death works the same way but it's eternal. You will be hopelessly separated from God without Jesus Christ.

"all the scriptures (OT) testify of me." In other words the OT stories themselves are all prophecies of Jesus Christ. A simple example is Jonah sacrificed himself to save his shipmates from the wrath of God, was in a fish three days and nights and lived again. These parallels are truly amazing and prophetic!

And you have to understand how this form of prophecy works. They are allusions not overt predictions. This was likely to prevent anyone from attempting to fulfill them. But if he says I did not come to destroy the law I came to uphold it...that makes more sense. scriptures are taken completely out of context as well as they are from the Old Testament. The Old testament is merely a build up of what was going on at the time with the exception of psalms really and maybe proverbs. the old testament tells just how bad the world was and then in the New Testament is when Jesus shows up and saves us all. "all the scriptures (OT) testify of me." In other words the OT stories themselves are all prophecies of Jesus Christ. A simple example is Jonah sacrificed himself to save his shipmates from the wrath of God, was in a fish three days and nights and lived again. These parallels are truly amazing and prophetic!

@nahor24 It's not circular at all. All those stories were written hundreds and thousands of years before Christ. And yet they all point Christ. And you have to understand how this form of prophecy works. They are allusions not overt predictions. This was likely to prevent anyone from attempting to fulfill them. We only realize they were prophecies after-the-fact. This was inserted into the stories just for skeptics like yourself.

But if he says I did not come to destroy the law I came to uphold it...that makes more sense. At the age of 12, I stopped attending the Mormon church, and at the age of 17, I was baptized into the Lutheran church, along with my parents, who were led to the Lutheran church by me.

I am paraphrasing but yes indeed, these things are ordered by god--- "show no mercy"... "spear... split the bellies of pregnant women so as to kill the unborn offspring"...
