If anyone is using 60+ tracks with up to 200 or more plugins then freeze track is fine. I use 8 cores and 8 gig ram, but 1 core is always not used and it pisses me off. Apple can't solve this prob, they arn't smart enough or it would have been solved. Logic is not 64 bit. snow leopard is a con and just rubbish we all bought in2 thinking it would solve all these issues but i am mixing such a song now how u set up your song is very important to how Logic handles the load. Study the templates
NVIDIA GeForce GT 120...horrible GPUs. GT 120 is 9500GT which is mediocre. 4x is just wasteful, filled up all the pci sloths. Get ATI 4870 if you want gaming.
I can't believe apple charges $280 for 8800GT and $350 for ATI 4870. 8800GT cost $110 last year, 4870 costs $180
Apple has use intergrated sound card: realtek. Doesn't support creative sound card that uses CRYSTAL technology to enhance sound for MP3 playing with nice THX certified speakers like Klipsch
32 bit vista can only really use 3.2 gbs of ram but 64 bit can go up to 8 gb which is why you shouldn't randomly upgrade your ram but focus more towards your cpu
Fuck, you would hope that an apple product like logic studio would make use of the 8 cores available!!!! I'm sizing up a new 8 core system for exactly that, using logic studio!!! Somebody PLEASE tell me if i'll get the same performance with a 4 core with more RAM!!!!! Also, anyone using Apogee Ensemble or other interfaces? Please review these too!!! Very expensive exercise for the average consumer!!! Cheers....great vid!
ram doesn't actually improve performance, it just makes your CPU(s) work closer to their maximum potential, which seemly is improving performance. i'm not aware of logic studio but assuming by the name, its more about FLOPs than anything, so more cores would be better for it. But, even 8 cores seems a bit overkill unless its for a server or research
It's posted so someone could see the processor usage when Logic node was being used on the same machine as the Logic app was running. The question was whether the nodes would activate the remaining cores on the computer.
I find if u just bounce things down to audio workflow is fine

apple finally get semi-relevant by adding intel i7 940 & 920 cpus.
What about the i7 965 extreme? don't like giving apple customers premium stuffs? well, most apple fan wouldn't know this anyway.
It's about time because us windows users enjoy the raw power of these cpus for 5 months already.
ATI 4870 is a nice addition for apple. 4870 x2 been out 8 months
DDR3 1066 is slow, us PC users has DDR3 2000.
apple is far behind with hardware. It's sad how much they charge for obsoleted stuffs.
