  • for your next trick, you should put a laugh track to the scene where Danny meets the Twins in the hallway.

  • I'M HOME!

  • were did you get the laugh track from?

  • alternately, you might speed up the video to the tune of "yakety axe" (a.k.a. theme from benny hill).

  • THE HASH SLINGING SLASHER!

  • i lawled.

  • The laughter makes it creepier.

  • @DeathBeforePride i'm not a fan of the shining. i used to fall asleep everytime before/during this scene, don't know why. But now, that i 've seen it with the background laughing, i felt chills.

  • This is hillarious.

  • The laugh track actually makes it a bit more disturbing...but I still laughed xD

  • Funniest thing I've ever seen on youtube

  • "heres johnny" -manic laughter- lol

  • Doorbells are for pussies

  • The scary thing is, Jack Nicholson wasn't acting. They just gave him an axe, told him the woman was called "Wendy", and left the camera rolling.

  • @hotelmario510 That isn't true. Look for the Making of the Shining documentary. You'll see why.

  • is this the real movie just with people laughing? someone please answer I've never seen this movie

  • @xXaggiesXx23 yes

  • @lifesabigfightbaby thank you!

  • @xXaggiesXx23 If you haven't seen The Shining, you haven't seen cinema. ;)

  • @xXaggiesXx23 nope

  • @xXaggiesXx23 Ofcourse not, the real movie has some really creepy moments, but at other times, very funny ones.

  • That women look liike the gilfrien of popeye the sailorman

  • @Fataris it is! she's Shelley Duvall

  • @Fataris

Crazy thing!! i was thinking about the cartoon! Excellent choice of actress then .. if i had to choose i totally choose de same

  • In all honesty, I thought this scene WAS a very funny one when I first saw it. XD

  • sociopathic audience

  • This is maybe the Funniest think i ever saw x))))

  • i think you made a mistake, laugh tracks are traditionally played every fucking 3 seconds

  • they needed to change the music. still scary.

  • This is great. I just put one of these together with some clips from pulp fiction and sitcom music. Any feedback would be appreciated. It's titled: Pulp Fiction-Sitcom Laughter

  • the laughing makes it funnier

  • Is it just me that thinks the laugh track actually makes it scarier?

  • seems like something David Lynch would do if he directed The Shining.

  • Why is there a knife in the bathroom sink? No, correction, why is there a huge knife in the bathroom sink?

  • @harryfromwork

Right before this scene, Danny had the knife while writing "REDRUM" on the door, and Wendy brought with her into the bathroom when Jack tried to get in.

  • It still just as stressful just because it feels like we're getting the husband's point of view...

  • lol at 2:10. Silence.... BANG *laughter

  • Haha! This is a fantastic horror movie! And this parody is actualy funny! :D haha!

  • Why not break that fucking window and clear the shards using the huge knife?

  • When Jack first appears you should've done the audience applauding, like when The Fonz makes his first appearance on his show.

  • MAN this is great... :D

  • Well done!!! Seriously most sitcoms suck... the laugh track is a commercial tool to make up for the low quality humour in the script. It is a good educational tool for children though. Children may find it funny.

  • Haha that was disturbing!

  • "Wendy I'm Home!"

    and the audience cheers LOL!

  • @ssm85ytp HAHA ya

  • hahaha i love it

  • the axe scene kicks in too soon, this is badly made.

  • Need to do laugh track on the Obama Campaign speeches... it's hilarious to think of the number of people/sheep/drones that fell for the lies!!!!

  • Somehow I think the laugh track makes this scene even more disturbing.

  • Hahah great! this could have been better executed in some parts but LOL! :P

  • The critics are saying this is the best comedy of the year "Rolling Stone" magazine says this is amazing. See how Jack cuts up! You betta axe somebody! Audience agree, for some reason, after watching this, I could not sleep. Music by the Eagles "Hotel California"

  • It's the first time I'm laughing my ass off instead of shitting my pants when I was watching something from this movie. xD

  • wendy im home

  • I'll never be able to watch this movie again without laughing my head off!

  • "Wendy... i'm home!" audience applauds! AWESOME!

  • If only that where Chelsea Handler in that bathroom

  • What a great improv!

  • still creepy even with laugh track

  • LOL i think i like this version better! XD

  • !Wendy! Im home :D!"

  • That's what happens when you're not in the kitchen!

  • lol why would you just happen to have a huge knife in ur bathroom right when ur husband goes crazy?

  • @BurritoGirl912

Have you even seen the movie o_O?

  • the music breaks the sitcom spirit though.. without that it would have worked.

  • Yes. throw the child out the window. no way THAT could hurt or backfire drastically.

  • This just goes to prove: Comedy is tragedy.

  • the laugh track actually makes it even more sinister o.o

  • They shouldve put the Seinfeld guitar cutscene sound in at the end

  • @Bconnolly888 Holy crap, that's just what I was thinking!

  • this is like the shining meets 2 and a half men!

They over do the laugh machine big time in 2 and a half men

  • even with the laughter, there's so much tension in the scene,Jack violently hacking the door apart, the boy sepperated from his mother(out in the snow)and the women trapped and hysterical it's to much to disconnect from the original sequence in the movie, maybe when she hits him with the bat, that's worth a laugh...give it to me Wendy...pow! ha ha ha

  • I don't know if its just me, but with the laughs, its even more tense! Yet somehow hilarious.... you nailed it , man!

  • LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'll never be able to watch this scene again without laughing my head off.

  • BWAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAH! I love it!

  • Jajajaaj que falta de seriedad!

  • I never thought it could be possible. But this scene was even more terrifying *with* the laugh track. WTF?

  • laugh tracks are shit. like "friends"

  • @TheGmTom lolololololololololololololololololololol

  • @TheGmTom friends was actually filmed in front of a studio audience... ;)

  • @jimmyrich1 yeeess?

  • laugh tracks only make people actually laugh in serious situations!

  • you can't help but laugh

  • what a sick audiance

  • I just love 100 Deeds for Jack Torrance

  • 2 and a half mad-men?

    I LOVE THIS SHOW!

  • "and Kids....that's how I met your mother!"

  • hahahha well done

  • Whoever made this is really sick!!!

Unfortunately, since I was doubled over laughing, apparently so am I.

  • I've never seen this movie. Does the woman die? D:

  • @ChuChuDyl No the womn and kid get away and the guy ends up dieing becuase they trick him into freezing to death...

  • I call this, How I REALLY Met Your Mother

  • the effect didn't work at all given this soundtrack

  • Ah, The Big Axe Theory, always good for a laugh

  • omfg that was amazing =D

  • The Brady Bunch...

  • haha that was hilarious

  • if she spent half her time breaking the sliding part of that window out of it's frame instead of screaming like a stupid bitch, she would have gotten away.

  • that was hilarious!

  • funny haha Well made

  • sounds like it was screened to a theater full of psychopaths.

  • jajajjajajajajaja

  • married... with murder.

  • so funny :)

  • No more Full House, now it's Empty Hotel.

  • That was genius!

  • Couldnt stop laughing with the laugh track.

  • it actually fits. so funny.

  • this is one of the best comedys ever made......true story. Only an asshole would be scared or under suspense watching this

  • Thats awesome!

  • haha this is good :)

  • thats just wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I knew this film was a comedy.

  • i like this!

  • it kinda makes it more creepy when they laugh innapropriately

  • Ahahhahah xD

  • god we have a sick sense of humor

  • @Rubberduckyofdoomy

    I agree.

  • @Rubberduckyofdoomy yeah i loved it :P

  • Hahahaha, awesome :D

  • The laugh track makes it scarier, I think!

  • Wendy, I'm home.

  • sooo good sooo bad

  • this is fucking hilarious

  • oh man this is hilarious!!!Ill never watch it the same ever again

  • the window laughing was hilarious, as well as the i'm home with the applause

  • Lol the laughing makes this scarier I think...like when they just suddenly start laughing at her unable to get out of the window! I have to say, I did actually laugh at that point as well though lol.

  • Omg this is soo funny!

  • lol this is so screwed up its funny XD

but on some shows, it requires too much internal thinking

  • i feel so sorry for shelley!

  • were did u get the laugh tracks

  • ah my favorite show, HOW TO SURVIVE YOUR MAD HUSBAND.

  • lol that would be a great idea for a sitcom

  • Sick! Really sick!

  • i love it when she's flailing her arms on the snow. it just seems like something that Elaine from Seinfeld would be doing in some awkward event in her apartment with a new date.

  • ROFLMFAOO. HERES JOHNNY!

  • Ohhh, my wordly wordington. This is so wrong. And yet I love it. Great job! Thanks for posting it!

  • Jack Is the best psycopath ever!..i hope i can be as crazy as him one day haha

  • HAHAHAHA!!!

  • That was funny. Nice video. Jack plays such a great psycho!

  • this is what happens when you take your fathers beer away

  • Funny as hell!

  • Joker Jack! hell Shelley Duvall's bad acting is funny to.

  • Yeah, she was pretty bad. *lol*

  • Was better as Olive Oil that same year.

  • You know, that shows were two of a kind, b/c I was thinking the same thing. She gave a more believable performance as Popeye's main squeeze.

  • Maybe we were separated at birth. LOL!

  • heres Johnny

  • Brilliant!

  • and if u are sooooo more intellgent then you would realise that getting worked up about such a minor matter makes you just childish and seems like u jus want attention

  • yes you are absolutely right

    bye

  • That's some real science you've got there.

  • "Mr Stanley Kubrick" was an arrogant bastard who no one liked. He probably would be deeply insulted by this, whereas most directors would see it for what it is - good-natured humor. Only someone as insecure as "Mr Stanley Kubrick" would be worried this kind of thing would ruin his movie. Mr. "Serious Artist" has already ruined many movies by himself. "Eyes Wide Shut" was garbage and a huge flop at the box office.

  • I don't really think he was a bastard. Maybe he just didn't like people fucking with his work. And i don't think it's true to say "Nobody liked him". You would probably feel the same way if you spent months shooting a movie and months in an editing room making your vision a reality. And some people like movies and some people don't. Even if you think "Eyes Wide Shut" was "garbage" some people might actually appreciate the time and effort that went into this movie and every movie.

  • haha i searched up the shining by violent j and this is wat came up lol

  • haha!

  • stupid bich cant open the window properly :))) lol
