there are two parts of his swoop, leveling out over the water, & the lift he gets before he buries the toggles, plus he is going downwind. but it was that sudden lift that had me wondering.
no, the reason i say that, is aircraft get better lift in cooler air, warmer air they take longer to climb. & these newer high performance canopies are a flexible wing, but I also understand that much less input is needed to get more drastic results & I may have just not noticed. & it could be a combo of things .
had nothing to do with the water it was the input on his rear riser to change the angle of attack of the canopy to transfer al the speed to more lift.
What do you mean if his swoop failed, If he turned to low it would be bad but if you notice he is swooping over water and while it does suck to hit the water it usually will save your life.
It's not ballsy if you are experienced and current, it's just fun.
dudes need to learn how to do fist bumps.

I notice the lift he got from the cooler air over the water, & seemed to rocket up for added length in that swoop. wow.

@Qballfph
doesn't cold air fall and hot air rise? so how could that work?
paradiddle1389 2 years ago
@paradiddle1389
In case nobody ended up replying, cold air is more dense then hot air, and so can provide more lift (since there is more of it)

anyone know what he was flying?

It said performance design on the bottom of the canopy, so that would make it a velocity.
