hey this is exactly what i want to do to my 914!!! I have webber 44 idf's on a 2.0 and a small turbo unit ready to go ... need the air boxes scavenge pump ect do you know how the idf's will do handle the boost??

sounds like you have bad compressor surge. check the vacum source to the bov and loosen it up a little bit

one thing I hve to ask, why a turbo and not a supercharger? not enough room for the super?

Aircooled engine- transmission on the back of the crank shaft, cooling fan and tin on the front, mounting a 4 or 6 rib belt to drive the s/c, while not impossible, would be alot harder than the turbo install.

gotcha, besides.. that engine bay is tight as it is, if you had the 6 it would b even worse, but I got your point. one thing I can't stand though are those folks who want to put V8's in them. I can understand the Fiero because a V8 was going to be used in a later model but the 914 I donno..

Check out the auto cross vids. Since adding the turbo I've had 2 events where I finished in 3rd place overall- out of 100+ drivers, beaten both times by the same 2 other cars that come and go in trailers, both running 2x the tire and making 2x the HP... not bad for street legal up against highly modified race specific cars. More auto x vids this summer.
