It always drops during the holiday season when people are hired for part time seasonal jobs. Not even bringing up the fact that those that no longer qualify for unemployment benefits are not counted as "Unemployed" and I am sure those extended benefits are running out for many people.

This number is mega inaccurate, the truth is far worse but they don't want you to know that number. Of course unemployment dropped. People were hired for 2-3 months for PART-TIME, Minimum Wage (or barely above), seasonal, retail jobs to maximize corporate profits in the name of the season of love and sharing. Once that runs out then what? Shitcanned with no benefits or unemployment! On top of that more people gave up trying to look for jobs and fell off the list.

Google "actual unemployment numbers" and read for yourself. I have seen as low as 8.x% and I have seen at high as 19.x% 16.6% is the going number. In any case it approaches 1 in 5 to 1 in 6. How many people do you know? Count your closest friends and family. Of them how many are unemployed? Do the math. It's scary. I bet you know at least one person who lives with mom at age 25+ to age 40.

What BS. The number of people collecting unemployment is the basis for the bogus figures being reported. If your benefits run out and you stop receiving money, you are dropped from the rolls and no longer count in the unemployment rate. At the rate things are going with the obama regime, if he were to be re-elected the unemployment rate would eventually drop to zero as everyone lost their job and eventually ran out of benefits.
