If you accept the RFID chip, they can flag you in their central computer system, so that when your chip is scanned, the doctor is instructed by his medical computer to give you a certain kind of special drug, because the computer has determined that you need this.
Unknown to you or the doctor, this special concoction is in some way toxic to you. Combined with certain additives in your other medications, it will weaken your system, or even outright kill you over time. How would anyone know?
You're on the health plan, go to the doctor, the doctor prescribes something unwanted, like Prozac, Ritalin, abortion, vasectomy, electroshock, vaccine, RFID chip "to streamline medical records," or some new concoction containing who-knows-what. You refuse it. The government kicks you off the plan, saying refusal of "treatment" will make you sicker and cost more money. Now, with no health plan, unable to pay the fine, they put you in one of those new prison camps until you accept it.
What about this: A person is on the health plan, goes to the doctor, and the doctor prescribes something improper like Prozac, Ritalin, abortin, vasectomy, electroshock, flu vaccine, RFID chip "to streamline medical records," or some new concoction containing who-knows-what. The patient refuses it. The government kicks him off the plan, saying that refusal of "treatment" will make him sicker and cost more money. Now, with no health plan, they put him in jail until he accepts it.
I know. So far the people who have been in government for the last many years have demonstrated that if there is room for abuse within the law, they will do it, and sometimes outside the law too.
Someone mentioned that they could possibly declare you insane for refusing treatment, and put you in an institution.
It just seems like an enforced health care plan could bring together several evidenced plans of evil control. Way too much of a coincidence with this thing.
bgvworldwide; Apparently someone thinks that predictive computer modeling of the economy is possible, because look what happened to Ross Perot when he suggested it. Yes, freedom always results in prosperity, and the other way around, too. It's actually a state of mind.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention one more "treatment." The RFID chip implant. They could say that it is absolutely necessary in order to streamline the new health care system, because it would save so much time and money, be more accurate, allow for treatment anywhere so they can access your records by computer in order to make sure that we all get the "correct" treatment.
I saw a video where Nancy Pelosi admits that you can be arrested for not participating in the Government health care plan, if it is passed. So it looks like if you refuse any specific treatment (Prozac, abortion, vasectomy, electroshock, H1N1 vaccine, whatever) you could go to jail for five years. And remember, once in place, they can easily ammend it to make it even worse.
It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood.
Obama campaigned on HOPE and CHANGE, but he is governing as chicken little. Have you noticed everything is a crisis? Have you ever noticed that when he announces a crisis, he and his libs legislate a catastrophe in response? So he is not your usual chicken little that is running around screeching that the sky is falling. He is actively working to make sure that it falls.
It's not a money thing. It's a control thing. Some people are being punished for refusing the H1N1 shots now. But that's only the tip of the iceberg. If the government has control of health care, and you refuse a treatment (flu shot, Prozac, Ritalin, surgury, abortion, whatever) they can then refuse to treat you on the grounds that you "don't want to get well." They could kick you out of the system forever.
3) Young people would be required to pay higher premiums both the House and Senate bills would increase premiums for young people by 69 percent. (Study is listed on the site)
10) Millions will still be uninsured. Even though the whole health care system will be turned upside-down, the CBO says at the end of 10 years there will still be 24 million uninsured Americans under the Senate bill.
From take back medicine . c o m (down load the flyer healthcare turkey)
Google ObamaCare: Let the Rationing Begin by Dr. David Janda. Senator Arlen Spector, when questioned on the fact that The Senate Bill cuts $500 Billion in Medicare spending over ten years, yet in ten years there will be 30 percent more people on Medicare, he admitted that Congress has NEVER cut Medicare benefits in its history and then confessed, This Bill has a provision, a CURE in how we can CUT Medicare—a Commission. Thats right, a non-elected Commission will be appointed by The Prez
bgvworldwide: So you think that the politicians "accidently" created the housing bubble that caused this recession? Do you really think that all the self professed "experts" didn't know that it would be the crack in the already weakend dike? Do you really think that there is "nobody at the wheel"? That nobody is doing predictive computer modeling of the global economic system?
Just wait and can you hear the stumping now. My new health commissioner will allow more test. You will be allowed the knee replacement if you are over 70. We are going to amend the Healh Care bill to allow abortions. We are going to allow this that and the other and LOWER you premiums because we are taxing Corporate. What corporate? because by this time we will have NO Jobs and no MONEY.
Today it was announced that women will not be permitted to have mamograms under the new OBAMA plan as often as the Cancer Society recommends. Becuase it would be too expensive for a government program.
In fact the plan further stipulates that self examinations should be discouraged, and therefore follow up on them is not funded if someone finds a "lump" etc..
If you're a women, or have a mom, this plan is for trimming them from the population to cut down on cost.
ASentinel... At the healthcare rally I attended I saw some funny signs: one woman with a sign that said, "No Government Breastcare."
Another said: "Keep your hands off my Breastcare." The cardiologist who spoke had a wife that was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer in her early 40s.
6. They threaten any business or politician that opposes the bill.
5. It is too big to read, has words that are too big to understand, and creates 111 new bureaucracies that are too big to fail.
4. It punishes, taxes, penalizes, or bankrupts everyone it was meant to serve: patients, elderly, doctors, hospitals, taxpayers, employers, and state governments, but by all means protects trial lawyers.
The birth of the government "option" results in forced compliance, penalties if not compliant and huge new government offices that we will be paying more and more for.
I thought Obama liked abortion. Couldn't he give the government one, instead of birthing a much larger government. LOL!
Let's start with a simpler and less costly version or get back to the real problems like growing the economy for more jobs.
If people really think health care is a "right", they need to amend the Constitution. If they can't get their fellow citizens to go along with that, they need to get this nonsense through on the state level. Clearly, there is NO constitutional way to make this happen. The staffer in Hoyer's office quoted the "welfare clause" which is such obvious nonsense. The Dems in Congress strain a gnat and swallow a camel--and want to feed the same meal to me.
Democrats consistently imply govt knows better we need instead of letting the people make their own choices.
Liberal democrats continue to strive to take away more and more of the wages American's earn, and force them to become more and more dependent on a gluttonous government with an insatiable and unjustifiable appetite for money and control of our very lives. Add to this the wage portions being leeched away by unions that mimick the same socialistic agenda and methodologies.
Once upon a time, our government existed to function in a limited capacity, primarily to enact and enforce laws (as needed) to provide security, stability and an ongoing global economic and technological edge for the nation. People were able to keep most, if not all, of the wages they earned. They were thusly capable of providing for themselves and their family, to include healthcare.
According to the Congressional Budget Office the lowest cost family non-group plan under the Speakers bill would cost $15,000 in 2016. Pay up or go to jail. You wanted healthcare and now you have it, in the end you will have wished you had not. Besides, how can you afford helathcare when you will be unemployed? And if unemployed your public option premiums will still need to be paid, suckas!
PELOSI: Buy a $15,000 Policy or Go to Jail; Failure to Comply, 5 Years in Prison...
GREAT IDEA!... just what this country needs. Enjoy your health care nightmare.
SINGLE PAYER ADVOCATES ARE BREAKING AWAY FROM OBAMA and his INSURANCE and BIG PHRMA GIVEAWAY. It ain't just the absurd political theater of the CORPORATE PRO INSURANCE GOP that opposes Obama. Genuine PROGRESIVES OPPOSE
Honestly, I think you would have a better chance of winning at Pickup Stix playing with your butt cheeks then to ever escape that flow chart from hell!
They've run every other business into the ground, but now they're talking about our health. We need true reform, not what is being crammed down our throats without legitimate debate. This is America and we have a system in place to improve situations in this country. We just need to use the system to find a realistic solution to the health care situation.
Also, have you paid attention to the current reported news that if you do not get the health insurance you face hefty fines and/or imprisonment? So, I thought liberals were for choice. Where's the choice in any of this? And that public option, well, Obama is on record stating that is where he wants to end up.The goal is to end up with only the government control of health care.
Yes...how strange....the Asses running this God Blessed country into the ground are Pro-Life when it come to Big Govt, and yet will slaughter a helpless and beautiful baby girl or boy on the whim of irresponsibility.
I have been unemployed since the Obama-nation began, now if he's going to raise taxes to pay for his fiasco, there's no way I'm actually going back to work to support his idiotic plan.
I can't wait for the Democrats who claim that health care is a "right" to see what happens when Obama care cuts the number of doctors. When there are no doctors, who is going to provide you with your "right"?
Interesting how the people who want the public option and giving money to the poor, don't seem to comprehend the fact that the money to pay for this does not just pop out of the ground. Just a bunch of whiny liberals who want the government to supply them with free health care paid for by people who actually work for a living.
It just might pass! We could alway's change the regulation's I guess! I like it the hill is fighting!
We still are over taxed, over regulated, and completely out the picture. When your personal freedom's and liberties are eroding away with every new face that get's elected it becomes a burden on americans. The amount change that happened so far with new face's in the white house are making the poor poorer and discrimated against.
the GOP makes the poor poorer by siding w big companies instead of the general public. this is why we had the economic collapse we did this year. they let the rich run wild and we ended up having to bail them out. yet god forbid they consider giving money and care to the poor and uninsured with healthcare reform and a public option.
@laliliana Remember it was Barney Frank and Chris Dodd who created the mess by telling banks they had to lend money to people who could not pay it back! There's the problem - caused by LIBERAL policy!!
Here's an idea...Make the "poor" earn money and provide care for themselves. For the most part they are firmly attached to a gov't tit and they constantly bitch about being less fortunate.
Regarding the "economic collapse", you really should start with finance and econ 101 to get a better idea of the relationship between monetary policy, supply/demand and government intervention.
bgvworldwide: I'm tired of seeing Econ 101 students blaming the unemployed for the recession. That's just wrooong. If you want to see real mammary lock jaw, look at the giant corporations and other tentacles of the Frat Brats (Illuminnutty) octopus. Wake up! Or you just paying your dues?
Speak for yourself...Econ 101. Where did I blame the unemployed? I am tired of liberals "interpreting" conservative comments in a way to make their point (don't even try to accuse me of the same). Unemployed seek gainful employment and the welfare babies look for ways to get more money out of the taxpayers because they are "less fortunate". I never pandered my views to that moocher class and never will.
Quit bitching about corporations. You may find yourself being employed by one.
bvg...interesting how none of us have ever received a job from a poor person. Now we have a prez who is trying to teach the young to hate the rich, and to not worry about working because the gov will create a pool of amniotic fluid for you to swim around in all your life, and will provide all your needs. And best of all you don't need to accomplish anything to become prez or to receive a nobel peace prize. Cool!!!
bgvworldwide: Well, I don't approve of career Welfare recipients either. But which is worse, poor Welfare babies sucking taxpayer money, or giant corporation Welfare brats sucking taxpayer money? After all, the poor didn't cause the recession, the Frat Brats did. Corporate Welfare goes right into the Frat Cats pockets. Million dollar bonuses? What could a corporate executive with average I.Q. possibly do that's worth that much? Fraternize, that's what!
I agree that corporate fat cats to not have the right to use our money as backstop either. I don't care how large the corporation is. If they cannot run a business profitably, they should fail.
I disagree, however, on the reason for the recession. It was the government meddling (CRA) into private sector that caused it. And the current government meddling i.e. stimulus, cap and trade, health care, and unemployment extensions will at best prolong this slowdown and at worst deepen it.
bgvworldwide: I thought this recession was due to loss of jobs resulting from NAFTA, unemployment due to the flood of illegal immigrants over the past 20 years, and finally topped off with the "No Documents Required" home loans flooding the housing market with buyer money causing skyrocketing house prices then bursting the bubble when borrowers couldn't keep up the payments and all those banks went broke or got bailout money. All caused by "The Elite" (Frat Brats). What's CRA?
CRA is Community Reinvestment Act. This legislation was designed to promote lower income and minority home ownership starting in the late 1970s.
Free trade agreements do not cause job losses. In fact, increase in employment due to trade may be (and usually is) several times of the losses due to cuts in manufacturing. Protectionism, on the other hand causes massive job losses for exporters/importers and manufacturers. To see the effects of protectionism see Smoot-Hawley Tarriff Act of 1930.
The borrowers who could not keep up with them payments are crying foul but they were to stupid to read the conditions of the loans they took. I guarantee you that most of the loans in default were adjustable rate where the pseudo-homeowners were going to make a quick buck by flipping the property after 2 years.
When they could not sell the house their ARM did exactly what it was supposed to do: ADJUST. Stuck with a mortgage they couldn't pay on the house they couldn't afford they walked away.
As more and more of these loans defaulted, investors realized that these securities were not AAA rated products and began to sell them. When you sell a bond, its price drops causing the yield (effective interest rate) to go up. It was a vicious circle.
AIG for example was selling credit default swaps which are effectively insurance policies on debt. As more loans defaulted, AIG owed more money to investors who paid them CDS premiums. That's why most of 185 billion went to banks outside USA.
bgvworldwide: You seem very knowledgable. But your story starts off with "The CRA was created to help the Po Folks." Do you really think that all the self professed "experts" didn't know that it would be the crack in the already weakend dike? Do you really think that there is "nobody at the wheel"? That nobody is doing predictive computer modeling of the global economic system?
Economics is based on psychology.Unless someone can build a computer more complex than the human brain (i.e. creation greater than the creator) no one will be able to model the global economic system.
Also do research on countries with the greatest economic freedom and take a look at the list.More freedom without a doubt results in greater wealth and prosperity for everyone (no redistribution). The countries with redistributive policies will be at the bottom of the list.
if the insurance industry and mafia had a baby, it would look like the GOP ... all of u should give up your government health plans if you oppose healthcare reform. why should you enjoy a privilege that you refuse to extend to the rest of us.
it's an option...like the post office, public schools and the bus. the health insurance companies need to compete with something cos left to their own devices they will bleed us dry.
laliliana, you just made the point that the government can't run what they have already been taxing us for: post office, public schools, public transportation.
and what the insurance companies have been doing in squeezing the health out of healthcare is what you are striving for? if u dont like the post office, public schools or the public transit then just pay for fedex, go ivy league and buy a car. that's why it's called an option. its optional.
As one who has private insurance (which I pay for) and VA care, as well as Medicare, I find it comical when people whine about insurance. When I had Leukemia, Aetna paid for everything, and the VA and MEDICARE both ducked all responsibility for payment. If Medicare is any indication of what Obama care is going to be like there will be a lot of dead bodies in the wake of his plan, due to lack of coverage.
VA ducts my spouse by after waiting 18 months, oops, the docs are out, so reschedule 18 months later again. It took 2 years to find a participating doc for medicare. I never had that problem with Blue Cross. Google "Medicare rates for services to doctors and compare them to others" to find out why.
I got Leukemia when I was 40, Aetna paid for all of my care, VA claimed that I had to go to a civilian cancer care center because they didn't have the proper facilities to treat me, the hospital Social Worker signed me up for SSD. Aetna paid all but the co pays, and I paid those out of pocket, then Medicare informed me that because I had been on SSD for more than 24 months that the law required I go on Medicare. (Cont'd)
(2) This was after my cancer was cured. I was on SSD for 26 months, so I was involuntarily put on Medicare. Then Medicare charged me 90.00 a month, but since I didn't get sick during the next three years, I paid them for nothing. But like Obama care there is no Opt out of the Medicare trap. As for TRICARE and VA, when I retired I was 40% disabled but it took them a year to figure that out and get a disability letter done, then they wanted me to register with the local VA clinic,
which required that I meet with a VA doctor. The Doctor I was assigned was Pakistani and barely spoke English. It took me 18 months to get an appointment for my initial consult and the first thing she said to me was "I'm tired of all of you people faking your injuries to get disability." This was before she even began the exam, and this was AFTER my retirement physical of 18 month earlier, had already confirmed my disabilities.
Insurance is based on probability math to figure in price per person to allow insurance to have more go in than out. You are paying for those who are getting sick and are paying less than they are using in health care cost. If you get sick, it applies to someone else who is not using it. If you never got sick, you'd pay completly for someone elses care.
Thing is, you're even paying for a rich man in this situation. The well cover the sick, not the rich cover the poor.
Since many of the poor have no insurance and most of the rich do have insurance, and medical facilities treat all comers (hence the heavy toll currently being taken on hospitals in the Southwest U.S.) The insurance monies paid by the rich... do pay for the poor.
You are right in that aspect. When paying health insurance, everybody pays for the sick. But when the money gets to the hospital, the covered pay for the noncovered. Much covered are rich. some are middle class, or above 1st standard deviation poverty. Medicaid is paid by taxpayer. Medicare, B you pay, but A already paid while you worked. there are also things like Peach care etc. Then some like the Amish, bring a huge bag of money and pay cash. You should have seen it.
The bottom line on this is that the government pays very little beyond what they budget. I am one of those on the lower end of the middle class and when I needed the support of a government plan, even though I had served 22 years in the military to earn the care, the government reneged on the deal and they paid NOTHING. I had coverage from Aetna, VA, TRICARE and Medicare, but Aetna was the only one that paid.
This might sound like a great thing, but the problem, in many hospitals in poor districts, the uninsured and low paying Medicare and Medicaid (you can google how their payout compare to other insurances) can outweigh the higher paying insurance. Many hospitals get govt. subsidies to help. Many doctors refuse or RATION how many govt option patients they accept, esp Medicaid (you can google that too) Many studies show that in some areas, Medicaid patients forgo docs and go to the ER.
Medicaid payouts are controlled by bureaucrats and are not evenly distributed, my brother had CPOD and had a lung transplant Medicaid paid the entire bill, but he nearly died waiting two years for approval and then another year before a donor was available, he got the transplant, but the wait allowed his body to deteriorate so much that he died two years after the transplant.
its optional. or go to jail. Like paying taxes is "optional" driving without a licence is "optional". When your only other "option" is jail then it is no longer "Optional" and if it truely was optional, I would have the option of NOT paying for it for you!
Sad thing about it is there aren't enough docs to go around, many don't accept medicaid or medicare, and certainly won't accept a "pay out more than patient pays in" option. Google "How many doctors refuse medicare and medicaid" and see why.
This is sad, sad, sad. By the way 27 congress members own stock in AIG insurance. Pelosi is reported as one of the top 5. Why would congress mandate everybody buy insurance if insurance is so bad?
This is a problem with Obama care as well, many doctors have stated that they will change careers rather than work under the socialist system, therefore I see on the horizon, government dictates of careers, to keep doctors in the field.
I read several years ago that Japan was doing this. Their government determines what your educational major will be and what your career will be. I haven't heard much about that since, though.
Whenever something which is in demand becomes scarce, it's cost goes up.
Build more medical schools. Plenty of people could become doctors if the educational system would quit messing with them and let them learn what they choose, instead of discouraging them by treating them like cattle.
I don't think the school problems are the kids, I think it's the goofy education system.
Just ask some kids. After all, they are the ones "in the trenches," so they should know.
I totally agree, but this is one of the reasons why I oppose Obama Care, it is supposed to be making healthcare more available. Imposing additional rules on doctors is not conducive to this. Obama Care is really about CONTROL, of the medical system and thereby, our lives. Our "edjukashun" system is indeed broken, which is why it is more in need of reform than healthcare, and the first thing that needs to change is teachers policing themselves. It's like having the fox watch the hen house.
Well, let's see.... The health care plan is all about control. The education system is also the same, favoring control over education. The Federal Reserve Bank? It's all about the bankers' control of our economy for their private profits, not the prosperity of the country. It looks like there are some lose-cannon control freaks who have invaded the government, at the expense of this country. Is there such a thing as terrorism by harmful control?
I beleive there is terrorism by control, but those in power would never admit it. Another point of Control that was not listed, is the repeated calls for gun control, by the left. What better way to impose ones will than by removing the means to resist? I am all for fighting crime, but no one has shown me how my registering or surrendering my personal property will stop a person committed to violence from committing such an act.
@IMPLR1369007, "I beleive there is...." Right. Every time something has been tightly controlled, it has been only to create a monopoly. JFK's father made his fortune importing top quality booze, during prohibition. Currently the CIA is the only importer of drugs allowed. This is why we have "victomless crimes," like prostitution, to create a monopoly for organized crime. Hitler pitched gun registration "to prevent crime," then went to all the addresses and collected the listed arms.
I propose Congress Control. Such as immediate and mandatory impeachment for any member of Congress who proposes or supports any act or legislation that violates the Constitution, which they have sworn to uphold. This would include legislation that mandates the purchase of healthcare under threat of imprisonment.
@IMPLR1369007, "I propose Congress...." The only way to do this is probably to enact a Federal referendum, which only some of the States already have enacted. It may be necessary to begin at the City Counsel level, which would be good anyway.
In order to get something un-Constitutional passed in congress, many of them must work together, influenced by some type of reward. This could qualify as conspiricy, racketeering, or even insurrection to the Constitution (which was mentioned in it).
Agreed, passing a bill into law does require consensus in the Congress, but my proposal is preemption, in that it would REQUIRE Congress to throw out anyone who even proposed and unconstitutional law. This would even preclude Congress ignoring such actions.
Your proposal sounds good, but what would motivate Congress to act on it?
There is the Fourteenth Amendment, Section 3, but nobody in government seems interested in doing anything about it at this time.
Section 4 is very interesting also, in reference to the national debt aquired through fraud by private bankers of the Federal Reserve Bank, Incorporated.
Nothing will ever get Congress to act on it because they are politicians, currently liberal politicians (not that it makes a difference) and being politicians they will do nothing that will diminish their power or income. They are politicians and therefore they are corrupt. Politicians of either camp cannot be counted on for much, but one thing is certain, they can be counted on to do whatever enhances their own careers.
I know that if people started by cleaning up their local governments, including police departments, by forcing them to state which side they were on, and having their Mayor network with other Mayors, it would be hard to keep out of the media. It might need to start at the block meeting level. I think Ross Perot started that idea, which was probably the main reason he was run out of town.
Also, there was a series on TV a few years ago, about how tough it was to make it all the way through a medical internship. This may have been the very first "reality" show. Why make it so hard to be a doctor? They had to work shifts of 48 or 72 hours, grabbing an hour of sleep whenever and wherever they could, and probably getting hooked on meth as a result.
Medical schools require top grades from high school on up, probably to get the most programmable people, to support the AMA.
There is a very good reason for Medical school to be stressfull and for long hours during internship. It conditions the doctor to be able to handle the enormous stresses involved with being a doctor. Just like soldiers, all train to meet a minimum standard, but like an Infantryman will see more stress than a records clerk an ER doctor will see more stress than a research clincian. But both need to be equally prepared.
laliliana, the Post Office is NOT owned by the U.S. government. Just because the business name is United States Postal Service doesn't mean they own it. Does our Federal government own the Federal Reserve.. nope.. sure don't.
There is surely nothing "optional" about this health care plan.
The USPS and the Fed are not Government agencies, they are GSE's Government Sponsored Entities). Which does make them government associates and tax payer supported.
The USPS is created as a government agency under Title 39, Section 101.1 of the United States Code....
...(a) The United States Postal Service shall be operated as a basic and fundamental service provided to the people by the Government of the United States, authorized by the Constitution, created by Act of Congress, and supported by the people...
Couple of ideas for you: if you don't like you health insurance then change it (seems very simple but impossible in most other countries), or you can get a health savings account and pay out of pocket with untaxed funds.
Our way of life used to be without taxes and our personal lives were unregulated...
They regulate and fee you for owning chickens where I live.
Our way of life would be killed if this bill passed. Americans like taxes? The middleclass loves being spit on? That's what will happen maybe...oh god it better not pass.
That is one ugly baby...

It's not a money thing. It's a control thing. Some people are being punished for refusing the H1N1 shots now. But that's only the tip of the iceberg. If the government has control of health care, and you refuse a treatment (flu shot, Prozac, Ritalin, surgury, abortion, whatever) they can then refuse to treat you on the grounds that you "don't want to get well." 3) Young people would be required to pay higher premiums both the House and Senate bills would increase premiums for young people by 69 percent. (Study is listed on the site)
10) Millions will still be uninsured. Even though the whole health care system will be turned upside-down, the CBO says at the end of 10 years there will still be 24 million uninsured Americans under the Senate bill.

But we must have this.

The birth of the government "option" results in forced compliance, penalties if not compliant and huge new government offices that we will be paying more and more for.

1tuuber 2 years ago
I agree that corporate fat cats to not have the right to use our money as backstop either. I don't care how large the corporation is. If they cannot run a business profitably, they should fail.
I disagree, however, on the reason for the recession. It was the government meddling (CRA) into private sector that caused it. And the current government meddling i.e. stimulus, cap and trade, health care, and unemployment extensions will at best prolong this slowdown and at worst deepen it.
bgvworldwide 2 years ago
bgvworldwide: I thought this recession was due to loss of jobs resulting from NAFTA, unemployment due to the flood of illegal immigrants over the past 20 years, and finally topped off with the "No Documents Required" home loans flooding the housing market with buyer money causing skyrocketing house prices then bursting the bubble when borrowers couldn't keep up the payments and all those banks went broke or got bailout money. All caused by "The Elite" (Frat Brats). What's CRA?
1tuuber 2 years ago
CRA is Community Reinvestment Act. This legislation was designed to promote lower income and minority home ownership starting in the late 1970s.
Free trade agreements do not cause job losses. In fact, increase in employment due to trade may be (and usually is) several times of the losses due to cuts in manufacturing. Protectionism, on the other hand causes massive job losses for exporters/importers and manufacturers. To see the effects of protectionism see Smoot-Hawley Tarriff Act of 1930.
bgvworldwide 2 years ago
The borrowers who could not keep up with them payments are crying foul but they were to stupid to read the conditions of the loans they took. I guarantee you that most of the loans in default were adjustable rate where the pseudo-homeowners were going to make a quick buck by flipping the property after 2 years.
When they could not sell the house their ARM did exactly what it was supposed to do: ADJUST. Stuck with a mortgage they couldn't pay on the house they couldn't afford they walked away.
bgvworldwide 2 years ago
As more and more of these loans defaulted, investors realized that these securities were not AAA rated products and began to sell them. When you sell a bond, its price drops causing the yield (effective interest rate) to go up. It was a vicious circle.
AIG for example was selling credit default swaps which are effectively insurance policies on debt. As more loans defaulted, AIG owed more money to investors who paid them CDS premiums. That's why most of 185 billion went to banks outside USA.
bgvworldwide 2 years ago

Economics is based on psychology.Unless someone can build a computer more complex than the human brain (i.e. creation greater than the creator) no one will be able to model the global economic system.
Also do research on countries with the greatest economic freedom and take a look at the list.More freedom without a doubt results in greater wealth and prosperity for everyone (no redistribution). The countries with redistributive policies will be at the bottom of the list.

IMPLR1369007 2 years ago 4
VA ducts my spouse by after waiting 18 months, oops, the docs are out, so reschedule 18 months later again. It took 2 years to find a participating doc for medicare. I never had that problem with Blue Cross. Google "Medicare rates for services to doctors and compare them to others" to find out why.
NotaBeetleFan 2 years ago
I got Leukemia when I was 40, Aetna paid for all of my care, VA claimed that I had to go to a civilian cancer care center because they didn't have the proper facilities to treat me, the hospital Social Worker signed me up for SSD. Aetna paid all but the co pays, and I paid those out of pocket, then Medicare informed me that because I had been on SSD for more than 24 months that the law required I go on Medicare. (Cont'd)
IMPLR1369007 2 years ago
(2) This was after my cancer was cured. I was on SSD for 26 months, so I was involuntarily put on Medicare. Then Medicare charged me 90.00 a month, but since I didn't get sick during the next three years, I paid them for nothing. But like Obama care there is no Opt out of the Medicare trap. As for TRICARE and VA, when I retired I was 40% disabled but it took them a year to figure that out and get a disability letter done, then they wanted me to register with the local VA clinic,
(Cont'd)
IMPLR1369007 2 years ago
which required that I meet with a VA doctor.
IMPLR1369007 2 years ago
Insurance is based on probability math to figure in price per person to allow insurance to have more go in than out. You are paying for those who are getting sick and are paying less than they are using in health care cost. If you get sick, it applies to someone else who is not using it. If you never got sick, you'd pay completly for someone elses care.
Thing is, you're even paying for a rich man in this situation. The well cover the sick, not the rich cover the poor.
NotaBeetleFan 2 years ago 2
@NotaBeetleFan
Since many of the poor have no insurance and most of the rich do have insurance, and medical facilities treat all comers (hence the heavy toll currently being taken on hospitals in the Southwest U.S.) The insurance monies paid by the rich... do pay for the poor.
IMPLR1369007 2 years ago
You are right in that aspect. When paying health insurance, everybody pays for the sick. But when the money gets to the hospital, the covered pay for the noncovered. Much covered are rich. some are middle class, or above 1st standard deviation poverty. Medicaid is paid by taxpayer. Medicare, B you pay, but A already paid while you worked. there are also things like Peach care etc. Then some like the Amish, bring a huge bag of money and pay cash. You should have seen it.
NotaBeetleFan 2 years ago
The bottom line on this is that the government pays very little beyond what they budget. I am one of those on the lower end of the middle class and when I needed the support of a government plan, even though I had served 22 years in the military to earn the care, the government reneged on the deal and they paid NOTHING. I had coverage from Aetna, VA, TRICARE and Medicare, but Aetna was the only one that paid.
IMPLR1369007 2 years ago
This might sound like a great thing, but the problem, in many hospitals in poor districts, the uninsured and low paying Medicare and Medicaid (you can google how their payout compare to other insurances) can outweigh the higher paying insurance. Many hospitals get govt. subsidies to help. Many doctors refuse or RATION how many govt option patients they accept, esp Medicaid (you can google that too) Many studies show that in some areas, Medicaid patients forgo docs and go to the ER.
NotaBeetleFan 2 years ago
Medicaid payouts are controlled by bureaucrats and are not evenly distributed, my brother had CPOD and had a lung transplant Medicaid paid the entire bill, but he nearly died waiting two years for approval and then another year before a donor was available, he got the transplant, but the wait allowed his body to deteriorate so much that he died two years after the transplant.
IMPLR1369007 2 years ago
its optional. or go to jail. Like paying taxes is "optional" driving without a licence is "optional". When your only other "option" is jail then it is no longer "Optional" and if it truely was optional, I would have the option of NOT paying for it for you!
aries37 2 years ago 3
Sad thing about it is there aren't enough docs to go around, many don't accept medicaid or medicare, and certainly won't accept a "pay out more than patient pays in" option. Google "How many doctors refuse medicare and medicaid" and see why.
This is sad, sad, sad. By the way 27 congress members own stock in AIG insurance. Pelosi is reported as one of the top 5. Why would congress mandate everybody buy insurance if insurance is so bad?
At least you can "opt" to work or drive.
NotaBeetleFan 2 years ago
This is a problem with Obama care as well, many doctors have stated that they will change careers rather than work under the socialist system, therefore I see on the horizon, government dictates of careers, to keep doctors in the field.
IMPLR1369007 2 years ago
I read several years ago that Japan was doing this. Their government determines what your educational major will be and what your career will be. I haven't heard much about that since, though.
1tuuber 2 years ago
It is happening in parts of Europe as well.
IMPLR1369007 2 years ago
@IMPLR1369007
1tuuber 2 years ago
I totally agree, but this is one of the reasons why I oppose Obama Care, it is supposed to be making healthcare more available. Imposing additional rules on doctors is not conducive to this. Obama Care is really about CONTROL, of the medical system and thereby, our lives. Our "edjukashun" system is indeed broken, which is why it is more in need of reform than healthcare, and the first thing that needs to change is teachers policing themselves. It's like having the fox watch the hen house.
IMPLR1369007 2 years ago
Well, let's see.... The health care plan is all about control. The education system is also the same, favoring control over education. The Federal Reserve Bank? It's all about the bankers' control of our economy for their private profits, not the prosperity of the country. It looks like there are some lose-cannon control freaks who have invaded the government, at the expense of this country. Is there such a thing as terrorism by harmful control?
1tuuber 2 years ago
I beleive there is terrorism by control, but those in power would never admit it. Another point of Control that was not listed, is the repeated calls for gun control, by the left. What better way to impose ones will than by removing the means to resist? I am all for fighting crime, but no one has shown me how my registering or surrendering my personal property will stop a person committed to violence from committing such an act.
IMPLR1369007 2 years ago
@IMPLR1369007, "I beleive there is...." Right. Every time something has been tightly controlled, it has been only to create a monopoly. JFK's father made his fortune importing top quality booze, during prohibition. Currently the CIA is the only importer of drugs allowed. This is why we have "victomless crimes," like prostitution, to create a monopoly for organized crime. Hitler pitched gun registration "to prevent crime," then went to all the addresses and collected the listed arms.
1tuuber 2 years ago
I propose Congress Control. Such as immediate and mandatory impeachment for any member of Congress who proposes or supports any act or legislation that violates the Constitution, which they have sworn to uphold. This would include legislation that mandates the purchase of healthcare under threat of imprisonment.
IMPLR1369007 2 years ago
@IMPLR1369007, "I propose Congress...." The only way to do this is probably to enact a Federal referendum, which only some of the States already have enacted. It may be necessary to begin at the City Counsel level, which would be good anyway.
In order to get something un-Constitutional passed in congress, many of them must work together, influenced by some type of reward. This could qualify as conspiricy, racketeering, or even insurrection to the Constitution (which was mentioned in it).
1tuuber 2 years ago
@1tuuber
Agreed, passing a bill into law does require consensus in the Congress, but my proposal is preemption, in that it would REQUIRE Congress to throw out anyone who even proposed and unconstitutional law. This would even preclude Congress ignoring such actions.
IMPLR1369007 2 years ago
@IMPLR1369007
1tuuber 2 years ago
Nothing will ever get Congress to act on it because they are politicians, currently liberal politicians (not that it makes a difference) and being politicians they will do nothing that will diminish their power or income. They are politicians and therefore they are corrupt. Politicians of either camp cannot be counted on for much, but one thing is certain, they can be counted on to do whatever enhances their own careers.
IMPLR1369007 2 years ago
@IMPLR1369007
1tuuber 2 years ago
Also, there was a series on TV a few years ago, about how tough it was to make it all the way through a medical internship. This may have been the very first "reality" show. Why make it so hard to be a doctor? They had to work shifts of 48 or 72 hours, grabbing an hour of sleep whenever and wherever they could, and probably getting hooked on meth as a result.
Medical schools require top grades from high school on up, probably to get the most programmable people, to support the AMA.
1tuuber 2 years ago
There is a very good reason for Medical school to be stressfull and for long hours during internship. It conditions the doctor to be able to handle the enormous stresses involved with being a doctor. Just like soldiers, all train to meet a minimum standard, but like an Infantryman will see more stress than a records clerk an ER doctor will see more stress than a research clincian. But both need to be equally prepared.
