  • Dear Sabrina.

What a neat & beautiful presentation!!! This is one of the typical ENKA songs.

How could you sing the song so well in Japanese?

You are an amazing singer indeed.I really love the song sung by you Sabrina.

Thank you very very much for your great performance.

GP James must be very proud of you.^_^¨,,me too!!!

    Makim

  • @112makim Dear Makim: I am feeling truly honored by what you have expressed about my singing. It's always a blessing to have someone who loves my performance. UJ is so lucky to have a brother like you and I am also very lucky to have Makim as my friend :)

  • @yuquanchen

    Dear Sabrina.

Thank you so much for your kind reply. These words of my comment are all true!!! I really mean it.^_^¨,,I wanna be always honest to myself.

    By the way,I'm so called James's granddaughter.So I call James as GP James.I'm a girl.Hehe!!!

Sabrina my dear,I wish you are having a great new week. Please let me know when your new video is ready to up on YouTube, then I comment on right away, thank you.

    Makim, one of your fans.

  • @112makim Wahaha...my bad, so sorry, Makim. I never "deciphered" what GP stood for, thought instantly it was like "great something" for UJ is great in many perspectives :) I shall have a new recording done soon, look forward to seeing you again! Sabrina

  • Really excellent singing!

  • Let me be serious about this comment as I have had ample working experience recording in proper environment and with proper recording gears

if I have to compare this singing voice with Teresa Teng's singing same, under the same condition. My marks will be 91 for this and 92 for TT, all being equal. Other Chinese singers will not score higher than 80 from me according to what I hear from singers today. Cheers!!!

    James Sia

  • @iplayslow What a surprising, pleasant, and encouraging thing for a true master to say about my singing! I'm very much humbled by this. Yet with the best possible guidance I could get from a mentor like you, I'm looking at 93! :) Bags of thanks!

  • @yuquanchen That's my girl. At my age, I much look upon you as my last side kick and I have a trick or two which I shall pass on, most happily. Only 93? That's not hard, not hard at all.

    UJ

  • @iplayslow I'm greatly honored to be your last side kick, dear UJ, I'm such a blessed woman at this age. With a master like you, I have all the confidence to surpass 93! :)

  • @yuquanchen Take a listen to TT singing the same song. She completely relaxed the throat muscle to sing out the low notes as if yawning. Moreover, the back ground music is very low when she sings low as to not cover up the weaker low notes. These are her singing technique. Softly..........

    UJ

  • This song is one of my favorite. You sang it beautifully. You have a lovely voice. Did you ever try other songs sang by Naomi Chiaki?

  • Way to go Sabrina, your voice is as close as that of TT so far in the youtube. Love your song and have downloaded some of these for leisure listening. Keep it coming, I have subscribed your account for any updates. Thank you for posting your beautiful works here. More Power.

  • @johnsonwng I'm so glad you like my voice, and thank you so much for the kind words. I will try something new in another couple of months :)

  • @yuquanchen .

    We're waiting (^_^)

  • Very beautiful ! Teresa would be flattered.

  • @Rvpilot2 I'm flattered myself, thanks!

I am not a Japanese, but I like to hear you sing this Japanese Enka song. At this moment, I am both sad and happy. Sad, because Teresa Teng has already left us.

Happy, because someone has taken over what she left behind.

  • @sgphilgoh Your comment made me 很感动,and really flattered, 不敢当哦

  • The transfusion is just perfect; it brings back to the story scene. Just like your name, you deliver the voice from heaven.

  • You are stunning with such a beautiful voice. Love hearing your songs. Absolutely beautiful. Love to hear more songs

  • Yuquan, I find this song very depressing. To me it would be US Shigure. Thanks for sharing your touching song.

  • Once again Yu Guan sang brilliantly!!

Love the way you sang it.

  • Do you remember what i told you before...?Almost 100 thousent watch this video and you are much better now as those days.!!Wow,,more power..

Thanks to you yuquanchen for the translation and excellent sound.

  • Wow, that was excellent!

By the way, your fine version of "Kita no Yado Kara" would probably be better translated as "From a Northern Inn."

    Good luck to you.

  • japanese veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Splendid this teresa teng's song too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You have a beautiful voice, you sing the song with such magic. Your voice makes my heart soar. Beautiful, well done.

  • Thanks a lot

  • Es muy attractiva.

  • Great taste of your song you have as same as Teresa, or you may have own wolrd.

    Splendid!!

  • Thank you so much for all your comments. Indeed naturally I'm not mimic the exact Teresa voice - I can't because I have my own voice. I'm glad you look at it that way :-)

  • YuQuan vc canta muitíssimo bem, parabens. conheço a original dessa música e vc não fica atrás.

  • Translate:

you sing very well, congratulations! I know the original music...You are so wonderful

  • I find myself keep on listening to this song. A very nice song and very nicely presented. Thanks!

  • Thank you for your compliment.

  • You sing this song in comparison with the other professional singers well.

becouse you succeed in expressing the sensitive nuance of this song.

Your pronunciation is natual same as native Japanese.

  • iidesune

  • another beautiful voice with beautiful song!!!!!! perfect!!!!!!

  • One thing that draws my attention is the lyrics, as the line goes: こんな私でいいならあげる、何もかも。I'd like to cast doubt about its denotation which leads me to think about how miserable a woman is. If compared with male. female is never inferior in IQ or capability. So, why female is so weak as to surrender and blame herself? (to be continued)

  • The other is the translation of "しぐれor晩秋の雨(late autumnal rain)"into "shower". As usual, in Japan "shower" means"短いひと降りにわか雨,what's more, when depicting emotionally melancholy mood, they use "雨or even "小雨.If a foreigner happens to say "大阪にわか雨instead of "大阪しぐれ.What do you think of it? So,using "shower" instead of "rain" is a little inappropriate. Thanks for uploading the clip.

  • Thanks for your explanation. What I really mean is if you use "late autumnal shower", it is OK, but you use "autumn shower". I am a foreigner, not a Japanese. So, my first impression is "秋のにわか雨". Based on Japanese-English Concise Dictionary "late autumnal shower" is used instead of "autumn shower". This is only for reference. No more argument, please

  • Thanks for your reply. Your Japanese is really excellent.

  • In late autumn or early winter, the meaning of"しぐれ(時雨)" is strong in a meaning called the passing shower rather than rain falling suddenly.

In the old Japanese, the words is the meaning that tears flow .

  • Really? I did not know the words is the meaning of tears flowing.

  • Just beautiful!

  • I meant some movie clips or footage or relevant pic slide show or smth like moving b/g

  • Beautiful voice.

  • great, natural voice...awesome...

  • Dear Yuquan Chen, Thanking you very very much indeed to deliver such a perfect song to us with your perfect voice, sincerely and anxiously looking forward to have your songs in forthcoming, reiterate my sincere thanks to you once again

  • This is one of my favorite TT songs. I've listened to her version countless times. Everytime I listened to it, it cut streight into my heart.... so sentimental. You appreciated the song, but the feeling was hopeless because you knew she would never be back.

This is the first time I listen to you singing this song, but I must say the feelings are much the same. It is extremely touching. One difference though is that I feel hope because I know you're still out there.. carrying TT's torch...

  • Hi Yuquan Chen,

I was very moved by the bell like quality of your voice. You sang this song so delicately and effortlessly.

I felt a strong sense of expression from your heart through your voice.

Thank you so much for putting your great voice, as well as this song out there for us to listen and enjoy.

I am looking forward to hearing more of you in the future. Please continue to entertain us.

    Best Regards,

    Lloyd

  • Lloyd, thank you for all your kind words. I hope to have a new song out soon. I moved to a new place just two weeks ago and haven't had the equipment set up yet. I hope my new recording won't disappoint you and other fans.

  • Yuquan,

Pl: don't rush.. make quality rather than quantity.. If you make some clips as a b/g of your song would enhance your song clips ( I guess )

( I know you have sources and ability ..may be your issue is "Time" or "copyright" or "preference" )

  • Wow! I dont understand your language, but your voice is fantastic! I got to save this a a favorite. You have one of the best voices I have ever heard. Compassion: john

  • Thank you for your complements, John, I'm glad you enjoy my voice.

  • Do you sell any cd's? Please say YES. I would love to buy one from you. You have a unique and most beautiful voice I ever heard. Absolutely wonderful! John

  • I could not believe at first that it was you who were singing. You sing better than Miyako Harumi. You are more smooth with vibrato. Harumi has a strong accent.

I wish you a successful debut as a professional singer.

  • yuquan your voice is so fantastic! i also love your qingzang gaoyuan, even prefer it to li na's!

  • Thank you for your kind words, though I know I'm far from Li Na's level.

  • Daer Yuquan: your song and your English are good, i would like to purchase one of your C.D. if you do produced. many thank for great enka.

  • Thank you for your complements. I don't have a CD but always hope to have one. I personally feel that I sing enka style better than other types. I plan to sing more of such style in the future, hopefully you'll continue to like them.

  • OSAKA SHIGURE is one of the JAPANESE song I love very much. It always brings back so much memories. You have sung this beautiful song as good as Misora Hibari or Miyako Harumi. Once again, deeply appreciate you share all your beautiful songs with us. Wish you all the BEST !!!

  • Very Good!!.

  • i love it all what is the song call

  • It's called "The Autumn Shower in Osaka". Thank you for all your kind comments.

  • Wow! You are great! I love the quiver thingy you do with your notes. It's very pretty.

  • You have a very sweet voice...everyone is unique in there own ways...I really like this song...thank you so much for sharing and the translation of this song(the first song ever to be translated that I have seen). You should continue singing...even though I don't understand Chinese, I have many Chinese songs of cds...most of them are Teresa Tangs', but I have not heard this particular one from her.

  • Thank you for your kind and encouraging words. I'm glad you like the translation. A youtube friend has provided me with this translation, so all the work goes to him. I will continue to sing more Japanese songs with translations from youtube friends.

  • Essa música é linda!! Voçê é linda!!

  • well done :)

Perhaps something clse to my heart next

I am after all Chinese :)

    this song ?

  • Thank you for all your comments. I'm being selective picking songs at this moment due to a personal plan. But I will keep this song in mind to see if I can sing it in the future.

  • I'm again flattered. Thank you. I am planning to and will sing more Japanese songs.

  • You sound so beautiful as usual, even I do not know this song, until now, Thank you.

  • Thank you for posting this beautiful song. I

don't understand japanese but love to listen

to enka, don't know what type this song belong

to but its sure very touching and beautiful.

  • Thank you, flower child, for liking the song. It is an enka song recommended by a youtube friend. I hope to sing more in the future. Looking forward to seeing you here again.

  • Nihao, Yuquan. Your song is very impresive.

Osaka is the town where my grandparents

lived and my father grew. So lyric causes

    reality.

  • Nice to hear you got some attachment to this song. Glad you like it.

  • (part 3) That would make your Osaka Shigure 100% perfect; no native Japanese could tell that it was sung by a non-native. (By the way, someone mentioned about your "R" and "L". It doesn't bother me; your Japanese "R" sounds natural to me, a native-Japanese). Cheers!

  • Thank you very much, Eric, for pointing out something that obviously makes sense. A friend already emailed me with details about r and l so I know I am correct and at the same time learned more about Japanese. Your support is deeply appreciated.

  • (part 2) About Osaka Shigure, I would like to suggest that you pronounce the last "e" sound of Osaka ShigurE and Doojima suzumE. They are somewhat slurred. Particularly Osaka Shigur...ur.

The title of the song coming at the very end of the line packs an emotional punchline. As such, the last sound "e" should be pronounced with clarity. (to continue...)

  • Hi Yuquan, Eric here again.

I fully concur with all the others' comments on your uncanny ability to convey enka flavor with fluent Japanese pronunciation.

Speaking of your Japanese, a few points, if you don't mind. Your Osaka Shigure sounds even closer to perfection than your Japanese of Tokino Nagare ni. Perhaps this is because you carefully studied the Japanese of Miyako Harumi vs. Teresa Teng, whose Japanese, after all, was not quite 100% natural. (to continue...)

  • Imagine. Your very first two Japanese songs are already hits. I can't say enough nice things about your abilities with Japanese enka. It really sounds like you are a seasoned, native Japanese vocal star. I enjoy your singing very much.

  • It is not easy to imagine someone who is not Japanese is singing this. Your song with Enka flavor and your Japanese sound very natural indeed. Thank you for the lovely Osakashigure!

  • It's my pleasure singing Japanese songs and try my best. Very happy to hear that you like it and thank you for the positive comment.

  • Thanks Sabrina, for the lovely enka...I love enka alot. Keep up with the nice singing!! Your fan here in Vancouver BC, Peter

  • Hello, Peter, glad to see you here again. Thank you for your continued support.

  • Sounds great! You should delete the mono version right away; there's no point in keeping both uploaded.

Miyako Harumi is one of my most favorite enka singers, and this song, Osaka Shigure, is one of my all-time enka favorites.

I'd like to hear Teresa Teng's version, but I can't find it on YouTube.

  • Good to hear you like it and it happens to be your most favorite song. I don't think there's any Teresa version on youtube. Maybe someone would upload one in the future.

  • As for this song, You exceed Teresa in the enka flavor.

I think there is no need to upload Teresa's version.

The r vs. l issue....It's interesting. But Youquan's pronunciation is correct, and

it sounds beautiful for us Japanese.

  • Sorry, Yuquan! Your name is not Youquan, I know. It's my mistake.

  • This stereo version is better. Thanks.

  • I love this song! Wait, is it Teresa Teng's song? I haven't heard sing this before... You're japanese is excellent!

  • I believe it was originally written for a native singer Miyako Harumi. But later Teresa did her own version and I pretty much followed her style. Thank you for the complement on my Japanese pronunciation. I'll look into the r vs. l issue. Thanks!

  • The sound quality is as good as the original mp3 file. Great!

  • Super. Keep singing Japanese enka songs. You are really great. Your Japanese is near perfect. I like your photograph, too, but I can't wait to see you in action on video.

  • This indeed has better quality, my suggestion is to just delete your previous post.
