He's who the Star Wars prequels should've been written after. Now I've seen most of the Sylvester's movies and love them! Same goes for Dolph! The 80s had some of the best action movies ever made!

I remember when I was a kid every summer there would be a huge movie, be it a Star Wars movie, Rocky, Raiders....etc. Every summer there'd be a blockbuster that everyone had been waiting to see. I don't know what happened. Maybe we just got older. Who knows? I still wish they'd not killed off Apollo, though. I think it would have been cool to see the relationship between he and Rocky in the last film.

I mean I would want to know the whole background to how Apollo got into that fight if I had never seen this movie. Not a totally bad trailer. Rocky is the best, I love Rocky IV but it is more like a fitness video than anything else. Well respected actors Talia Shire and Burt Young get to sit around watching Stallone do sit ups and such. I do love the training scenes though. Rocky III has the best fight, that final round with Clubber Lang is exhilrating.

Neither is Apollo's pleading look to Rocky not to throw in the towel. Honestly, I think BOTH of them would've made the movie better. You understand why the fight isn't being sanctioned (they have fake newspaper/magazine clips instead) and you can understand MORE why Rocky froze instead of throwing in the towel. Which btw, would've done NOTHING to stop Drago...I mean, the dude threw the referee out of the way lol. He was gonna kill Apollo.

But I've thought about it, and I see it this way:

I think it made Apollo' death even more sad when people watched it in the theaters. Knowing he was gonna die, there was probably a sense of gloom during the pre-fight introductions, and seeing him take that punishment...I bet people were crying at the end of the 1st round. They were watching him lose his life.
