@markandrach Yes,it probably would,but the Group B cars are so much more spectacular.They were brute force and not VERY advanced,this,or any of todays WRC cars are high tech in comparison.U can`t POSSIBLY think that this is more exiting than a 700 bhp Audi quattro S1 E2 roaring thru the forrest shooting flames 6 ft out of the exhaust.......

When you take a look at most race cars for tarmac, they'd have the front lower than the back (or similar height). This one (for gravel) had the front much higher than the back. Can anyone explain which bit of handling does it help with by setting the car up like this please?

The reason for that is due to the road condition WRC car facing. The front suspention needs to have enough travel in order to deal with massive rock and bumps. Without enough height and suspention travel distence, when suspention compressed to the end, the front suspention will loss it's ability to absorb the shock, and the car will lost control. Hope this information can help.

@charlie424 for gravel stages, they usually jack up the ride height to stop the belly pan of the car being banged to kingdom come, it also makes the car easier to balance and get the line right for the given bend

You have no idea how horsepower is calculated do you? These cars have 300hp availible at any revs, because they have so much damn touque at low revs (try 600Nm or there abouts) MMMM driveability

The Ford Focus in my opinion is the best looking Rally Car. I don't know why or what Ford did to it, it just looks so good! So sporty, cool, and looks kind of like those RC cars! I've loved its looks since the days when Colin McRae (RIP) used to drive it.
