If prophecies are self fulfilling, interpreting scriptures predicts the future, then sharing a bed of imperfect visions is building up a new world. I believe thats one of the best parts of this song. I think it means that as Humankind, foolishly sets their opinions and future on scriptures and prophecies that shall soon be proved to be wrong. Then its building up our knowledge and mind in this world. And as we realize certain things. A new world shall arise from our foolish thoughts.
