The Giesel "Ejector" was I believe a quite recent addition at that time promising fantastic savings in coal consumption. I've no idea whether or not it lived up to it's promise - I have doubts.
Thanks for the comment Rowen. I have very fond memories of Tywyn (it was TOwyn then). The next year used to camp below Cader Idris and spent many happy times in the carriage shops in Tywyn restoring carriages and listening to the quarry men choir in the Railway Inn at Abergynolwyn - Happy days.
