  • I like threat that crash sounds

  • No Giant Beats?? Come on!!!

  • how much is worth a Paiste 505 crash 16"? i got one.

  • @sauronhall I'd say $50-75 depending on condition, maybe less.

  • @sauronhall good to know it's that cheap. since i haven't taken care of it as i should. but why so low price if this cymbals are disappearing?

  • 2:50-3:11 was Lie by Dream Theater, 6:05-6:15 was Six O' Clock by Dream Theater, and 9:57 to 10:07 was The Dance of Eternity, and it sounds like you switched to Metropolis after that. :D

  • If and when you ever sell your 2000 mellow china? Please let me know immediately.

  • @paistekid Sorry, I sold it months ago.

  • Man...I don't think such china existed anymore. I couldn't find any china from the Paiste catalogue that resemble the 2000 series. Such a shame!! I think it's the best sounding china in the Paiste lines.

  • Hey man wassup! Came across this video after just typing "Paiste" in the search box. First video on the list. Amazing set there, congratz!

  • is it a mellow china? still available for purchase?

  • @paistekid Sorry, I had a 16 and 18 and I sold both a while ago.

  • Wow, amazing set man. Absolutely outstanding.

  • nice use of DT songs in there ;) especially metropolis at the end

  • i know the blue ride retails for about 500 dollars but how much does everything cost together

  • dude your time is a little off when you get more technical.

  • I can't see any 6 ' or 8 ' splashes, why?

  • @dmtharpua LOL...because I don't have any.

  • and why is that ?

  • @dmtharpua Well, I've never really liked the sound of any 6" splash I've played before and as for an 8", I just haven't found one I want to get yet.

  • @gspot, thanks for ur reply. indeed the 6'' is bot very alike, i got the avelis one, only for plus effects. the Sabian AA 8' splash extra thin, is awesomeee and would abosultely suit an additional thin effect in between melodies. just a comment. anyway love ur set-up !! cheers

  • I would kill to get my hands on that 2000 Mellow China !!

  • How do u like the 505 16 inch?

  • 5* for the paiste man!

  • 3:10- the mirror! :O

  • 06:07 !!! rhytm of mike portnoy !!!! : D great, GREAT kit!!!

  • what the FAAAAK is this kit??? Outragoius, and paiste signatures are da bomb

  • It is a Pearl BLX. Check my channel page for specs. My cymbal specs are there also. Are you saying I have Signatures in my kit? I don't. Someday I will. But I really LOVE the sound of the 2002 alloy.

  • @gspot27 Actually you do have a signature in your kit. That Blue Bell Ride is a Signature :)

  • LOL...Yes, when I recorded this video I did have the Signature Blue Bell ride but I have sold it. I sold it 4-5 months ago and ordered a custom 2002 22" Heavy Ride in BLUE COLORSOUND! Check out the video on my channel page. The new cymbal ROCKS!!!!!

  • You are a great demonstrator! This is one of the best demo video for Paiste cymbals I've met here on the YouTube for the few month. Your drums sound great and your drumming is good.

  • I have a blue bell my self and it is great !!!!!

    thanks man!!!

  • hes a Paiste man and i like that. dude im in love with the blue china cymbal u have they must not make it anymore because ive never seen it

  • Thanks man! Are you talking about my ride or the china on the left? That is a 2000 Series Mellow China and no, they stopped making those in the late 80's.

  • YEAH! the china on the left it sounds great and looks bad ass haha

  • It's a discontinued series, Paiste 2000 series, maybe it's a sound reflector. I still have a ride , hi hats and crash, love them! will never get rid of them!

  • I've got sound reflections 14" heavy hats - faded & dirty! & an 8" splash - remarkably clean & shiny - def keeping them!

  • I like the blue bell ride by stewart copeland is great !!

  • what i would do for that ride u dont even know

  • It can be yours for around $300 plus shipping. :)

  • may i ask where u bought it for 300$??because online i can only find it for 500 plus shipping

  • I got it on eBay. I am selling mine. Go over to eBay and check out the prices.

  • BLUE BELL sweet man Stewart copeland rocks

  • 8:22 for the Blue Bell!

  • where did you get the 2000 china?

  • the 19" wild crash, has the sound that makes your ears cum!

  • Are the 505 Crashes Green or Black label?

    Great Cymbals!

  • Most of them are green label but the very first ones were black label for a few years. I have only seen 1 set of black label hi hats in 25 years.

  • saved best for last :)

  • the final groove is an intro instrumental section in metropolis part 1 , dream theater's best song ever

  • ur snare sounds fucking insane

  • I hope that's a good thing. :)

  • yah thats a good thing

  • Cool. Guys, imagine what my kit would sound like in a studio all mic'd up. Now, I know what it sounds like, insanely awesome!

  • where you playing a bit from dream theaters lie hidden in there somewhere?

  • yup, he did. for the 18" china type.

  • sweet. thought so :)

  • How long have u been playing drums? and also i would like to know which cymbals u would most recommend if your running a tight budget like me

  • I just bought that ride. Can't wait to get it!

  • lol

    too much DT for you

I recognize a couple of those beats and fills as Portnoy's...

    2:59 and 3:10

  • and 9:34 until the end but I can tell you did that on purpose

    lol

sounds like the actual drum track (with non-sabian sound of course)

  • and at about 6:00 he plays 6:00! for real!

  • I'm sorry, and I probably sound incredibly stupid, but I'm at a loss. I'm all over the Paiste website and cannot seem to find any cymbals with the names 505, 200, or Dimensions in the titles or names. Any help?

  • No problem. The 505, 2000 and Dimensions are all discontinued lines.

  • im glad ur back

i havent seen any new vids from u for a while... cant wait to see dark eternal night

  • That's what I thought, thank you.

  • dimensions are not discontinued

  • Dimensions were discontinued in 2004 and some of the models were integrated into the renewed 2002 series but even now, most of those have been discontinued from the 2002 line.

  • ah yea im sorry i was thinking of the reflector series, which has one dimension cymbal in it. my bad, nice set up tho, very talented too.

  • your crashes sound really dark i have pst3 and pst5s but idk it might be youtube quality

  • Solitary Glen, I wanny be you when I grow up! Top-notch cymbal setup. Love your china (on the right side) and the ride, of course.

  • nice setup love the blue bell ride

  • Nice video! Thanks for the post..

I started using Paiste in 1986. I've never used anything else but Paiste since then.

I respect the other companies out there, but Paiste has a way to make cymbals "that much better & pure" :: it's their hallmark

  • Yeah man, I hear you! I started out with the "Z" brand but when I hit my first Paist, a 2000 20" Power Ride, and I've never looked back. Though I had some Sabian splashes up until a couple months ago, now it's completely Paiste. I'll never switch.

  • Wow, I want a china a hell of a lot more now.

  • Thanks! If you want advice on getting one and choosing, send me a PM and I will help you however I can.

  • Paiste rules.

  • YES!!

  • Man! that ride cymbal sounds awesome! clean, pingy, glassy, and very little overtones...love it!

  • Thank you! I love it too! In love with the Blue Bell!

  • Hey mate, love ur cymbal set up!

How much did ur Blue Bell cost? Just saw a blue bell in my local music store for 5600 norwegian kroners.

    (1 US dollar = 6.38 Norwegian kroner)

  • about 300 us dollars is what he paid for his

  • I love the way you've integrated old paistes with the new. Your set up sounds great

  • WHAT A DRUMKIT!!!

right now i drool on my keyboard...(really!!!) :D

    and it sounds awesome

  • paiste have so much clarity and tone

  • I love the back of your head, Glen. I would suggest a change of wardrobe for your next video. Try something different, (a flashy shirt) appropriate for the stage. I love you, MOM And by the way, you're GREAT!!
