  • what a cutey pie you have. my Mango Mango (a lutino lovebird) is the same way she'll be all lovey dovey on min then go all RWAR i'm a vicious bird the next.

  • were did you get the big ball i want one .

  • "HOOOOOO"

  • Where did you get that awesome rope ball!!

  • Nice bird you got there :)

I have a Moluccan Cockatoo, his name is Simsim (Sesame in arabic...lol)... btw, what do you call that toy he is on? and can you please recommend a website that sell it because where I am it is impossible to find one of these :)

  • I think he's just curious/pissed off about the camera.

  • That's adorable! What that all 'toos had such a good home. :)

  • Ooo, maybe Tango sees his reflection in the video camera lense and thinks it's a rival!

  • I have a moluccan to. I like my bird.

  • Afraid of the camera?

  • To answer your question. A healthy Moluccan from a trustworthy breeder is between $1500-$2000.

I hope you take this in the right vein. If you're not ready to commit 2-3 hours a day every day to the care of any cockatoo and supply them with mind stimulating toys then $10 is too much for the bird. Tango and I have been together for 13 years and I love him dearly but he has not been cheap. I estimate food, cage toys, vet care to be about $2000 a year.

  • @graygeek Yes, these birds cost a lot of money, and even MORE time and effort! In my case, I probably won't be able to get my own until I am a widower.

  • @graygeek - thankfully my too can't stand expensive store bought toys. He'd rather have a 2x4. LOL! I cut up 2x4's for him and he's the best carboard box disposal in the world and he eats what I eat so he's really not that expensive at all. He's just spoiled rotten and has be on me or in the same room with me on a perch or hopping around. Loves to take naps with me. He's a constant companion and I love him dearly.

  • Very nice cockatoo. He looks very healthy and happy. So anyways how much do these cockatoos cost. And where can i find one for a cheap price. Im looking to buy a umbrella cockatoo not a moluccan. Can anyone answer my question.

  • Oh, how quickly the mood can change. LOL Just like a cockatoo to act like nothing is wrong, then the "terrible twos" temper tantrum comes out. My Moluccan on occasion acts up/out, but that's only when Brandy doesn't want to step on to my hand. Other than that I can't complain. I wish Brandy enjoyed going outside as much as Tango does. Within minutes of being placed on my balcony's railing, she taps her foot or is looking for ways to get back inside to her perch. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

  • Have you thought about putting the M2's favorite toys or treats outside.

  • Not really because the minute I get Brandy outside on my balcony railing she starts tapping her tallons on the metal to let me know she's ready to go in. If I don't get her right away she starts climbing down and usually walks all over what ever plant that's in the way for her to reach the ground and head towards the sliding glass door. When I water my plants outside I always take Brandy with me so she can get outside and get some fresh air and feel the sun too. Unfortunately that doesn't last.

  • So...is Tango feeling a bit broody? LOL...Love that bird!
