  • Prius just makes it across @ 36 seconds.

  • i just took this and converted it into an MP3.. sounds great! =)

  • must be quite a breeze coming off that train when its going by ..

  • if you look at some of the cars that are for lumber.. just right, can see faces on them, pretty cool to see those.

  • gotta love that Horn.. " LOOK OUT.. COMIN' THROUGH!!!

  • Sounds like the brakes are engaged a bit on the cars?? That noise?

  • Beautiful ever!

  • me again,... i love to listen to this video while doing other things

  • Nice video! and a great train crew also!

  • I want to Give that Engineer a Handshake for that awesome K3H Show Good Catch 10 Stars!!!!!

  • i could play this Over and Over.. i love IT!!!

  • This must be the best of all. Ever.

  • What an amazing sight and sound, at least you still have proper trains over there, how long was that!?

  • he just won the award of best engineer to me

  • i live by the trains and its snowing and im waiting for a train snow plow

  • That's a cool sunset. I love that time of day in the spring and summer months. Where I live, trains don't come around often so it's cool that people post you tube videos of trains.

  • I like the sky being on sunset on one side and being still "normal" on the other side. <3

  • OMG!!! CN HAS SOME OF THE BEST SOUNDING HORNS EVER!!!!!

  • MAN! One of the best shaved and a Haircuts I have ever seen!

  • love the twilight scene

  • i could sit here and play the horn Over and Over!!

  • This is fantastic! Lucky to have an engineer like that .

  • AWESOME!

  • I don't know why but in all the times I have been going out and watch trains pass, CN engineer have always been the "kindest" of all.

  • Love what they do with the lights!

  • It seemed to go really fast.

  • Awesome horn!

  • NICE HORN!!!!!

  • That's some serious hornage! 5 out of 5 stars!

  • With the low sun, breeze and cicadas you can just breathe in the athmosphere. And that horn.....!

  • Awesome horn show. These engineers must love train horns.

  • Great Video it brings back so many memories, from when I was a kid

  • love, how he flashed u like 6 times lol.

  • dude thats awsome, i wish all engineers where like this, alot just report me, and im not even close to the tracks i set up the camera and stand back. :( lol oh well some are cool like this.

  • train horns are not bad... they sceard the fuck out of me when a was a littel kid

  • When I was young, I was half asleep one night. It was late. When a horn from a train woke me up. In my groggy state, it sounded like a ghostly woman's voice calling out for someone. Weird stuff. Sadly, that railroad, known as the Texas-Mexican Railway, is now part of KCS. The locomotives are now gone, replaced by new units.

  • was it cloas? or was far into the disdent?

  • It's about 8 or 9 blocks from where I live. Too far to be annoying, and close enough to enjoy those sweet train horns. The horn I was talking about was probably an old Leslie S-3L horn.

  • Awsome Video, love the dusk view and the horn puts the icing on the cake!

  • Anyone know what type of horn that is?

  • I think its a Nathan K3L

  • that must be the longest train i ever seen in my life...

  • And this is what all railroaders should be like. Railfan's young and old love the whistle and the flashing lights.

  • awsome video

  • classic freight train horn

  • wow! that was sweet! i lvoe how he flipped the lights to! lol

  • Yep gives a good show

  • Sweeet video!

  • niice a CP enginieer gave me the lights like that a couple weeks ago :-)

  • Very hard core!

  • Wow it is funny that he kept flashing his lights several times!

  • such a beatiful sunset glare!

  • beautiful

  • Want K3L's? Seems to be standard on most CN and CP SD40's and in Canada.

  • it looked like the lead train was a c44-3w???

Anyways five star video I love it.

I see somethin like that every day almost every 6:30 in the morning with a CSX GP-35 going to the main yard right past meh house.

The engineer is really friendly on the train thaty goes past my house, he gave me a ride to another county in the cab once. One big "covert operation" so to say. No one knew I was on execpt him. It was reaally somethin. This happened in the 80 s

  • Wow! The first images with the sunset, the signals and the train approaching are simply beautiful! A real good railfanning video.

  • And a great video quality, on top of that!

  • From looking at a couple of your videos, it seems like CN is among the kindest of railroads to its admirers. I never got that kind of treatment while watching the Union Pacific freights. I hope the good PR continues. I also like the nice K3L, they seem to be slowly vanishing.

  • With thousands of engineers out there it's just the luck of the draw.

Like any other walk of life some are friendly and some are not. Some care and some are ambivilent.

  • lovely atmosphere for railfanning good ole diesel frieghter great video!

  • wow whit the sunset you won five star... more videos and more cool engineers

  • Wow, that engineer is really cool! And the sunset shots rock!

  • what kind of camera u use? btw 5* and fav

  • Wow, sweet music! This horn sounds like a Nathan K5H. Very melodic. Thanks for sharing :-)

  • No problem, I'm glad that you liked!

  • no,K5Hs don't sound like that it's a K3H-H is for the high diagram

  • Thanks for that info Mark. You're right. In listening to it, I hear the difference. It's certainly not easy, but I'm trying to hone my skills in identifying Leslie and Nathan horns. All the subtle variances make it more challenging :)

  • K3L

  • @m1234b1 Thank you. You're right. I went to Soundtraxx's website and listened to the K3L sound sample and can hear the similarity. :-)

  • Very nice man...VERY NICE!!!!!!

  • thankxx

  • Ya thats the funny thing about CN because it was once government controlled some of its cars are in French ie: Canadien National and the other half in english Canadian National lol....Still a great ClassI railroad but its no Canadian Pacific......

  • You may have a point but i still would prefer CN's motive power over CP. More appealing to my eyes.

  • I don't know about that....CP's new ES44AC units are sexy locomotives, although I do have to give marks to CN for the Paint job they have on their units, I didn't care much for the old zebra stripes but the new one are rather nice........

  • im refering to ditch lights and number boards. I like high number boards and high ditch lights. CP has low low number boards on alot of their GE's. BNSF and CN are the SEXIEST when it comes to those attributes in my eyes. GE or EMD.

  • I do believe the lettering is in french on one side and english on the other.

  • Why on earth does the CN do that with its lights? Ive seen it also in Freeport!

  • the engineer just did it for us, he sometimes does.

  • Does CN stand for Canadien National?

  • yup, or Canadian Noodle as we sometimes call it lol

  • we use to get nice long trains like that up to Saginaw (MI) and Dow Chemical in Midland when CSX ran through my town. About two years ago a short line took over so we rarely see more than 40 cars. For while it was nice because they had nice sounding C425's and a few M420's but now its all GP40's.

  • OOO I would love to see C425s and M420s, too bad you don't get them anymore, but I guess you could do worse than GP40s like trash 9s or something

  • Great horn!! The longest train I've ever seen was on CSX in Frostproof,Fl back in 2001!!

    5 locoomotives:2 CSX Dash 8-40CWs,CSX SD40-2,CSX GP38-2,and a CSX Dash8-40C

pull 575 fully loaded hopper cars of coal! Man that was a site to see!!

  • HOLY CRAP! 575 loaded??? That is amazing!

  • oh,ya !! the longest train i've saw with one locomotive was a fully loaded phosphate train in Mulberry,Fl ! One SD40-2 with 80 fully loaded cars! Once was four SD70Ms(CSX)with 85 fully cars of Phosphate in Brandon,fl

  • holy god get an ear full of that horn. Beautiful sounding K3H. Haven't heard better in a long time.

  • GREAT VIDEO MAN@@!!!!!

  • Wow dude Jim is probably the best engineer out there. I wish I knew him.

  • Yes, he is, he always gives us good solutes!

  • Over the 130 railroad cars 131,132,133? cars, long train and Awesome great fantastic loud horn,Great job man.this trains realy freight,No in the Netherlands,No horn and short trains maxima 51 cars, little cars.

  • I like to see short trains, if they're only pulled by one unit, prefferably a GP, but I couldn't live without the horn!

  • As long as this may seem, in today's reality 133 cars is actually not a long train. Last train I had was 173 intermodal platforms at 11083 feet long.

  • holy crap, 11Gs?? wow, that is a long train!

  • Yes, it is. CN runs trains over 12000 feet long a lot as well.

  • That is incredible! The longest train I've seen, or heard of coming through Freeport here, is a 153 car manifest with a pair of Dash 9s on a Westbound M337.

  • come to Jefferson Wisconsin you can see a short local train at around 2:25 everyday but not on Saturday and dunday they sometimes even use a Caboose and they have about 3 to 5 cars on it and one engine always a gp 38-2
