@aliawan90 What I mean is my Sony hx800 is hooked to my pc via hd cord through my video card. I have pretty good Logitech speakers attached to my pc through a sound card.1080p video is what my video card puts out for most games but only on the T.V itself.No sound is included..not like a hd dvd player or a bluray or ps3 where the sound comes through the hd cord .Even if you had a Alienware laptop? You would still need a external sound system. Its just the way it is.
This tv model is great but I wish I should have got the tv model in a 55 instead of the 46...... :( and on the 46" model I did notice that I do get that flashlight affect. But I sit in the middle the entire time so it's no problem to me.... Great video!

good review,i had the toshiba 55wx800u and it is horrible,there was "clouding",i tried the loosening screws on the back panel trick,adjusting light sensor and etc,also its 240hz sucked and didnt show smooth motion for more than 2 secs,gaming mode sucked too,the kdl55hx800u has local dimming so there shouldnt be any clouding effects ,i had a 120hz sony before my toshiba and i will never buy any other brand except sony
@dutchcrimesNL The HX is better because it's running a higher end panel, it refreshes faster, the screen is glossy (better color) and the backlight is a dynamic dimming LED opposed to standard LED. Honestly I find the HX909 to be one of the best tvs on the market and usually the price of the 909 (online) is comparable to the HX800 so I'd reccomend the 909 instead. {full array LED.}

I like to listen to music in my living room and was wondering what does the UI look like when you are playing mp3s from a USB? Does it have coverflow? (or something similar?...I like iTunes coverflow, but do not want to buy anything Apple). Can you pair your PC with the TV and stream music and get a graphic UI. I think it looks really nice to have the album art on the big screen especially if you are entertaining people.

I wanted to buy LED Tv but they are much more expensive. £800 for 46inch LED Tv, and £700 for 52inch Plasma TV. So the difference is quiet big. What would you prefer? Is there any significant difference between Plasma and LED? Is it worth the extra money?
I have the same exact TV and it was working great!... until today when i go to access the menu any of it the response time is extremely slow the little green light blinks but nothing moves for sometimes 5 to 10 seconds when navigating thought the options! is this a common problem or do you know what i can do to fix this??? i just bought a Samsung LED 3D tv the 40" model, and the clouding was HORRENDOUS ! i seriously could not watch a movie in the dark ! the where light leaking on every single scene and i coult not hack it ! and i ABSOLUTELY hate watching movies or anything in the light, my room is 24/7 light free... !

@Ephics I haven't seen any clouding when watching TV, even in a completely dark room. If I turn the brightness, contrast, and backlight all the way up to the maximum then I can see some brightness around the corners, but you would never watch TV with those settings because it looks terrible. Under everyday normal circumstances this TV looks great. I think you'd be happy with it.
How is the SOUND? I have a Phillips LCD in my bedroom that sounds like CRAP (no bass). I'm thinking about picking up this TV on Friday 14 JAN 2011 during a sale... thanks a bunch!
@Rodskin744 I'm satisfied with the sound, there are a lot of options to customize things to the way you want. You can boost the volume on certain inputs if the input volume is to low, adjust the bass, treble, etc.
If sound is really important to you, you can always go for a 5.1 surround system or a sound bar. Most modern TV's are lacking in the sound department, and while not perfect, this TV is good enough that I haven't thought about it since I set it up.
I just bought this t.v. on boxing day including the whole 3D package. The clarity of this t.v. just blows me away!! i'm gonna give it a 4.5/5 ! The only thing i'm not a fan of is where the HDMI hook ups are locating. I needed to buy longer hdmi cables to reach down on all my systems... other than that... This t.v. is flawless!
This size is nice for like a big bedroom, but as the center piece of your entertainment system, you have to go 60" and above..65" samsung led is perfect. You literally get so immersed in movies and ps3 games when you have a 60" and above led tv infront of you. Not to mention the IMAX scenes from the dark knight and transformers 2 looks EPIC!!!!!
I was hoping to get more info about the Backlight ... specially using some source material like the dark night.. I am hoping that the edge backlighting is good enough and I dont have to go in for the full backlighting that is in the XBR52HX909 model
@michaeljudefernandes I'm happy with the edge backlighting, the picture is even and bright. I haven't experienced any flashlighting or other problems and I've watched a good amount of letterboxed content and dark scenes. That was something I considered too, but the price difference for full backlighting was more than I was interested in paying.
I really enjoyed your videos mate.. it has the touch of humor and all the needed technical input. I liked the comment about avsforum and not staying long there... I am stuck between the KDL55HX800 and the XBR52HX909... the bundle I am getting in canada is not the same and does not include the wireless dongle.. i get a blueray player + 2 glasses and transmitter only with the KDL55HX800... With the XBR I am getting only a Blue Ray player.

@Jprice909 I played a little Gran Turismo 5 and the 3D mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops and I thought it was cool, but not essential. I think it's going to take a game made from the ground up specifically for 3D to push the technology for gaming.
@Jprice909 I believe the TV defaults to the signal you have coming in. For example, I get 1080p from my PS3 when watching blu rays and 1080i from my cable box because that's what it broadcasts at.
@DarkMerchant2222 The remote doesn't have a keyboard, but there's an on-screen keyboard you can navigate with the remote for searching in YouTube and some of the other applications.
No mention of Sony content. Do they offer any free content???

This tv model is great but I wish I should have got the tv model in a 55 instead of the 46...... :( and on the 46" model I did notice that I do get that flashlight affect. But I sit in the middle the entire time so it's no problem to me.... Great video!

@shorbe Make sure you set the TV to Game Mode when playing games. I haven't noticed any lag and that's the mode I set mine to.

I currently plan to exchange my grainy plasma for this KDL46HX800.
And I don't want to exchange my tv again ..........long story.
So, Does your Tv is cloud free? Even when your room is entirely dark?
And..... Do you have any backlight dark spot issue?
And does "local dimming" make a good job?
I'm so nervous about getting another tv with issues. :(
