  • @LauryWard Check out many youtube videos that feature Joe and you'll see why. Guitar players like him are far and few inbetween. I recommend you purchase Joe Bonamassa Live at Royal Albert Hall and I would bet your opinion will change quickly. I've been a musician for over 30 years and I know talent above and beyond when I hear it. After researching Joe if you still feel the same thats fine, just know your in a tiny minority. One video cannot possibly supply info to form a valid opinion.

  • @LauryWard Like Nordic said. go buy his live album. if there is another better live album, i want to know. that includes the almans live at the fillmore.

  • @LauryWard Your a F*cking dumbass just straight up stupid. Joe Bonnamassa is now and will be known as one of the greatist guitarist of all time. Every note has been played on a guitar everythings a copy of some sort. The soul he puts into the music cant be compaired to any one but himself Joe is an original listen to him as himself theres just life in the playing. Like many befor him and all that follow God Bless em all...

  • Every guitarist have their own unique style and no two guitarists will ever sound exactly alike. If you don't understand this, you either don't play or you only play with jam tracks in you bedroom and do not interact with other musicians. I love this version by Joe Bonamassa. Let's see, Pat Travers, Gov't Mule, Mark May Band, Frank Marino, and several others have done it besides Rev. Billy and I like them all.

  • the name of this should be:" joe bonamassa- awesome combination of just got paid and dazed and confused" cause theres a part near the end where they take it from the dazed and confused solo by jimmy page on led zeppelin (their first album)

  • Whew...love him.

  • fuckin guitar hero

  • thx eric johson

  • 8:36

    wat

  • Guitars are great...drummer is missing tons of fills.

  • Hahahah, pretty funny version, he plays Mule from Gov't Mule and the version of Just got paid today is pretty much the one from Gov't Mule, cool. I just thought that trying to imitate Page's violin solo sucked, hahahah, but overwall it was a pretty good job

  • Hahahah, pretty funny version, he plays Mule from Gov't Mule and the version of Just got paid today is pretty much the one from Gov't Mule, cool

  • chubby joe! XD

  • I have a boner from his guitar playing. He is just so fuckin good!!!!!

  • @zackydude96 You should call it a "Bona"

  • so great its like speeding hard!!

  • ok bravissimo da giohnleegreen

  • Audio AIDS

  • Absolute audio AIDS

  • That bassist totally has the Billy Sheehan thing going on. Is that him...because I don't think it is?

  • dag dude....i was just thinking the same thing. Doesn't sound like him tho

  • Nice playing! Love the Zeppelin stuff too! :)

  • Smokin !!!!!

Good copy of the Reverend and Co.

    Have mercy !

  • This boy is the best, hottest, coolest blues to the max player you will ever find in your living life. He knows just how to blend the blues with some lightning fast well executed leads that just about makes other guitar players who were beginning to think that they were good, want to just go put their guitars up in the closet and watch this masterful blues king show us all how it ought to be done. If you ever read a comment with the slightest disdain against Joe, it is from a JEALOUS JERRY.

  • Or you just prefer more traditional style blues?

I don't care much for the change in direction he did, when he started bringing the Cream Clapton licks far too much to the forefront of his playing.

I guess that makes me a jealous jerry. *rolleyes*

  • Sorry if I offended you, my young friend.

  • Okay as the Go-Go girls used to say: My lips are sealed, pay no mind to what you say, it doesn't matter anyway, aaaaay

Hush my baby, don' you cry.

  • saw him in northhampton he signed my les paul...great guy great guitarist...unfortuneatley his sound people sucked that night..

  • Awesome!

  • moseseseseses describes it PERFECTLY. go see Joe, it will put any comparisons to rest, for good. Joe is the most complete and talented guitarist today, hands down. He was better than this frank guy when he was just nineteen years old. this cover is just that, check out his original stuff, KILLER.

  • O_O He is the GOD!

  • Joe really knows how to "ROCK THE BLUES". He blissfully blends the two in this song, and the awesome aroma of searing sounds just rocks the croud into awe struck amazement, and energizes an aura of mesmerised minds that have become elevated into a fixated state of captive bliss. Joe is the man baby, he knows he got it, and knows how to put it out there for you and I to enjoy it. There is nothing fake or phony about Joe, he is the real thing in the world of blues and rock. JOE THE MAN, great.

  • his guitar is so creamy yet still punchy... i love it

  • Hey Ren, they are Shine & Open Your eyes by Frank Medley and the Get-a-Way band, Wine Glass by Frank Medley, and another good one is Figured You Out by Frank Medley and the Get-a-Way band

  • ok...i watched the wine glass video, and i wasnt convinced that Frank has "a slight edge on him". Not impressed at all...

  • He did have a kickass mullet, though...

  • Awesome ! I take it this guy specializes in the blues.

  • saying that is like saying Michael Jordan specializes in basketball...

  • Hey Ren, there is a guy who lives in my area named Frank Medley that plays close to the same style. Judging from Joe's video, I think Frank might have a slight edge on Joe. I'm sure you could find some of Frank's videos on you tube. I'll look some up now and let you know which ones to check out.

  • Good god, I hope you're not serious about this comparison! Your boy Frank doesn't even sing in tune. Music is not about "keeping score" any way. But to make the comparison you've made is just silly. I highly doubt either one of these guitarists has a scorecard of who they are better than.

For the guitar "purists", Joe Bonamassa has done more for rock and blues guitar than anybody since SRV.

  • I don't mean to make comparisons either, It's just that you make this Joe guy out to be a guitar hero and he's not. I've never heard of him until I got on you tube. I'll admit, I do like the sound of his Les Paul over a strat. His Dusty Hill impression is pretty good, too. I like this Joe's mullet, too and it doesn't take a whole lot of talent to sing most blues songs. The hand bow is a real insult to Jimmy Page.

  • @musicase64 you have no idea what you're talking about....at all. he doesn't have a mullet. his hair is long.. all the way around.. you're too stupid to see that. it doesn't take talent to sing the blues? WOW. & how is it an insult to jimmy. he's doing something that page use to do. that's more like flattery.he's imitating one of his idols.. that's what musicians do. i hope you refrain from leaving stupid comments like this in the future.

  • Frank is a friend of mine. I like his style better. The style this Joe guy has is kinda boring. Frank plays his own style. He doesn't have to copy anybody. He has a killer personality and is very down to earth.

I've also sang for him on plenty of occasions at a club we used to call The Party House on jam night. There's nothing wrong with having a mullet whether Frank of Joe or whoever wears one. Frank is very well known around here. I'd never heard of this Joe guy until you tube.

  • @musicase64 he's boring?! yea that's your opinion. as for joe "copying" you're full of shit. & as for frank playing his own style & not havving to copy anybody..you're also full of shit. every single musician takes stuff from his/her idols. so if ya wanna call it copying.. go for it. but that's just how music works. your first comment was stupid & there was no point in you responding to m comment. & by the way.. there is something wrong with having a mullet.

  • Sorry you have such a bad opinion of him, my young friend. Have a nice day !

  • @musicase64 you really don't have any idea what you're saying do you? i have a bad opinion of him? him who? joe is fuckin great & as your this frank guy.. i never heard of him & i certainly didn't bash him at all. so you need to just not say anything anymore..at all.....ever.

  • he is good, he is reeeeeeeeeeeeeally good, trust me boys and girls

  • @copperstrings I've only just heard Joe play, but I see what you mean - it's hard not to detect old Stevie Ray's spirit in that guitar playing.

  • @copperstrings he has!!

  • @copperstrings ...yeah and JB is a lot better that John Mayer, not because of the playing but JB is no mainstream bitch like John mayer ...it's not about talent but also about attitude ^^

  • what a mean tone!

  • yeah you should check out his guitar center video where he goes through what exactly his rig is about and why a must for tone addicts

  • Just saw this guy at the Peoria Civic center, Fuckin' awesome guitarist/singer, and had a very tight band. Really blew me away when i saw him.

  • nice Dazed and Confuzsed seg

  • I keep hearing this in my head and have to come get my "fix" almost daily.... its simply awesome IMO !!

I can air guitar it nearly perfectly (hahaha)

  • that les paul is fucking solid as hell.

  • however, he also jams every rock song in E the exact same way. that crazy pentatonic minor octave skipping shit, and then dazed and confused. granted, its hard as shit and its cool and original and i probably couldnt play it, but he does it the same way every time.

  • @robdorg Hell yeah! His amp combination is hard as hell! Hugs from Brazil, dude!

  • But you might get the obbession when

you have heard this song (If Heartaches Were Nickels)!! The way he used the

    gitar is just awesome!!

  • Sorry but you're a retard. I don't know what bars you go to but I've never seen ONE bar band guitarist that plays even close to as good as joe. This is just a cover anyway. Check out woke up dreaming or the river.....

  • he's a master! what a guitar player

10/10 for blues sound, skill, style, feeling, ...

    best i've ever seen live

  • love the Jimmy Page licks

  • I love this dude..hes blues with a younger fresh edge, but classic sytle too!

    Well done Joe!

  • Hmm not bad that parker griggs dude, however i do noticed that in his case, the whole band make up a quite a unique sound/image/style etc...very different..in some way!

However, i think as an individual artist, Joe has far more about his playing...not much to look at i know, and his band are nothing special...but for singing and playing...joe gets my vote!..

Cheers for the band-lead though dude!

  • yeah youre very right. Joe is more wordly i think comapared, but if you watch Parker in the years to come he will explode with some new stuff.

and i all about sound as well, image is a bonus ;)

make sure you tell ppl who might appreciate RM as theyre are a very very good young bang (only on is 21yrs old)

  • serious? 21 years old...then yeah fair play...not bad at all...

Where can i find some RM on good audio..all the stuff on here is live music..any downloads to find maybe?

  • superbe

    un guitariste vraiment tres bon

  • can't read that jibber jabber..

  • try listening to the song "mule" by goverment mule and youll see thats the riff in joe puts in not a led zeppelin riff

  • He does play the "Mule" riff, but he also plays the post-violin bow section of "Dazed and Confused."

  • You guys need to check out Shawn Lane

  • NOTHING to do with Joe

TWO different wolrd, it's incomparable !

  • Amen

  • awesome!

  • Can't go pass a gibson R8-R9 MAN,thick and rich sound

  • wow that gibson sounds awsome, i love my strat but i really love my late 60s black beauty

  • Nice if he's using more of Gibson!

  • Apparently he stopped using the Strats to help escape the SRV/hendrix comparisons.

  • Joe is INTENSE! No strat for Joe..... a Les Paul with its thick, rich tone fits JB perfectly!!! Keep rockin' Joe! I LOVE this stuff!!!!!!!!!

  • what is da led zep song he copies in dis???

  • that is stairway to heaven, for sure

    ;o)

or smoke on the water, maybe (I'm a Leo?)

  • Did I seem to be dazed or confused?

  • definitely NOT stairway...definitely dazed and confused.....one of zeps best....that'd be sweet to see JB and Jimmy page battle on that....that would be epic...and...smoke on the ...bong???...

  • Jimmy's Guitar playing ability died of drug abuse at the first Live Aid in 1985,he used to be awsome, nowadays Joe would just blow him away.I'd like to see Warren Hayes play this with Joe.

  • definitely NOT stairway...definitely dazed and confused.....one of zeps best....that'd be sweet to see JB and Jimmy page battle on that....that would be epic...

  • gotta love Joe! His intense playing though suits more a strat in my humble opinion

  • love this. Lots of E. Johnson and that's not a bad thing. Blues evolved. :)

  • awesome guitar playing

    really solid

    really good

  • smokin joe's amazin but the man quit playin strats cause he was tired of comparisons to hendrix and srv...it's flattery and with nothin but respect but you gotta see him as joe..a badazz guitar player not a copy of some other guitarist. even when he's doing a zz cover with some zeppelin and mule and beck he's still joe. he combined his influences to make his own style. nothing but love brotha.

    peace, love, and soul

  • I thought he stopped using strats because fender reproduced his gold strat.

  • I thought he quit because fender screwed him out of a contract deal or somethin.

You'll see him play off brand stratos and tele now and then, but not often.

  • i just saw him & he didn't even use a tele or a strat...he used les pauls a flying v a double neck a firebird...& some acoustics..haha

  • somebody has been listening to Led Zeppelin;)

  • see ya wed.night in greensboro joe...thx man for the blues!!!

  • i know warrens songs when i hear one, that was a riff from mule.......repect to warren ...peace

  • ZZ top anyone?

  • god i love zz top. lil joe isn't so bad himself either :o)

  • the next jimmy hendirx the boy can f JAM

  • no-one can be jimi but joes comes from a good place.

  • Thanks for these great great videos! Respect!

  • 2 mins in he starts playing something similar to "mule" by Gov't Mule. Not one of my favorites covers of this song, but I won't bash him, caus he is a good guitarest.

  • Smokin' Joe RAWKS!!!!!!!!!!

  • Holy Shit Joe!!! He is my idol...I think i love him more than life itself. Lol. I would give anything to see him again and meet him...

  • He's amazing.

    nice cover of zz top.

  • he is so great !!

  • He's very talented but I don't like the Eric Johnson break in the middle of the song. This is a down and dirty greasy blues number. Lets keep is nasty!

  • I agree. I love EJ, but his style just doesn't fit in this tune.

  • bonamassa has been a huge influence on me, love the guy,

but i wish he'd throw a few more rock numbers into his 2008 tour setlist,

i saw him in newcastle and he was great, but didnt make the most of the moments he had the audience by the bollocks

    great post!

  • I'm going to see him before I die.

  • I know what you mean

  • Amazing.

  • I love this guy, he's so talented!!!

sam him live last year, brilliant stuff!!
