I love the honky-tonk piano - clearly he/she loves the Lord which is much better than it being played by the world's greatest pianist. This is heavenly. Thank you
Hey, I have a question. I love your hymns, but I am not always at my computer. Would it be possible for me to get your hymns on iTunes? I would be willing to pay for them. They are truly wonderful!
"Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ." Phil 3 v 8.
@foreverfluteplayer right now i feel very very far from the Lord God but there are some hymns just like you that will tear me up inside. This is one of them; there's another one called "Come Holy Ghost Our Hearts Inspire" that has the same effect(very obscure hymn for not many ppl know it but a great heart wrenching one none the less).
and therein lies the faith that we need to reclaim for this land, not all this warmed over stuff....but a return to that genuine love FOR GOD that crossed over seas and valleys and mountains to take gospel to others.....not the easy comfortable complacent me me me..sow a seed for your health and wealth christianity that has become so much of our christian landscape.
As a Believer in His early 30's, this is the lone complaint I have on some of the mainline EFCA arenas of the faith, and that's because I get an ENTIRELY different perception of Christ in this presentation by comparison to the "Hip/hop thing." I hate being judgemental like this, but it's the TRUTH of it all for me. This is where I find His beauty, personally. The boldness/aggessiveness in some of the other arenas has its way of taking away from the peace & humility to be found here.
some people sang this at a christian camp i went to last week. they did a different tune that i didn't know but it was really moving and by the end people were crying. it's such a great hymn thanks for uploading it.
I love this hymn, it was my anthem of salvation, "Where the whole realm of nature mine, that were an offering far too small, love so AMAZING, so Divine, DEMANDS my soul my life my all". AMAZING that the Son of God, my Lord should die for us.
Thank you for posting this. This is the tune (Rockingham) that i grew up singing. I never heard the other one(Hamburg) until I went to university. This is well done. It is among my favourite hymns.
I prefer the different tune. A free tune in a free land full of passion. For Anglicans we have a new church full of passion for the gospel. The Anglican Church in North America.
@10clowns this is I believe the tune composed with the hymn. Apparently the Americans don't use it because of a silly story put about that the tune to 'House Of The Rising Sun' was somehow similar.
that beautiful hymn, shame that has not been translated into Spanish, or at least the best known hymnbooks I can not find...regards from Colombia

I love this hymn, but I prefer it to the tune of O Waly Waly (which is a folk song but the words fit).

I love this actual artist's tune, where the words come from his heart..
"All the vain things that charm me most
I sacrifice them to His blood"

I wonder how/why/for what reason Issac Watts was inspired by the Spirit of God to write this song.

God's greatness flow around our incompleteness; Round our restlessness, his rest.

我每仰望十字寶架,榮耀之主在上捨身,
從前所有世上榮華,今願為主一齊丟盡。
求主禁我別有誇耀,但誇我主在十字架;
世間所有虛空福祉,為主寶血情願丟下。
請看主頭主手主足,憂愁慈愛和血同流,
這樣大愛自古未有,荊棘反成榮耀冕旒。
假若萬物都歸我手,盡獻與主何足報恩;
主愛如此長闊高深,我難報答只獻全身。

Yes some Americans sing it to a different tune, but Episcopalians/Anglicans in the states use this version (Deo Gratia!).
