Ok guys first of all Achilles was blonde, so no Hollywood was accurate, and second neither of them had those big ass swords about it, and lastly Hector killed Achilles's cousin so he killed hector and then Hectors brother killed achilles, Paris, and whoever says it was Apollo who killed Achilles come on, I'm talking about real life not some fake ass myth that would have been accepted by ancient greeks
what a piece of shit who said that Achilles was blond !!! this is the problem with Hollywood every great legend they turn it into a commercial piece of shit. Greeks are brown not blond and they dont speak like if they were gentlement of the victorian era !!! I prefer the film 300 rather than troy, at least is more into the comic style while Troy is for chicks !!
@TheDaxindex You're right. Dark hair and olive-skin are the norm in Mediterranean Greece. Blondes were very rare and highly prized and looked upon in ancient times. Hollywood fucks up with great epic myths TOO much! For example, I bet if the COTT remake or 'Immortals" stuck more to the real myth than they would've gotten better reviews!
@christopwebster Achilles has always been an asshole. Even homer makes him out a ass. Thats why hector is the face of the jack of spades, one of the nine worthies and achilles is not. I still love Achilles, but Hector i think is better. achilles fought for glory, hector fought for his people. Achilles revelled in war, hector hated it. end of story
In the 'Iliad' Athena decieved Hector in the fight he had with Achilles. She gave him a fake spear of air. The game should've gave the olympians a larger role i think. It would've been more true to the game and cool as well!
Hector was the only honorable man in a vain and stupid city, he always knew he was going to die. Achilles was the perfect warrior but all he possessed would die for everyone to know that.
@defenderofmacragge He was the only one who didn't blame Helen for the war and at his funeral, Helen claimed he was the only friend in Troy. He was a noble, yet hot-headed, man.
This game was not made to cater movie fanboys. But I do agree that the voice acting isn't ideal. I think I'll be getting the Japanese version, even if it means that I have to pay about twice as much.
@244547 It could've been better had there been other characters to choose from like Menelaus, Priam, Agamemnon, Glaucus etc. The Olympians could've had a larger war plus landscapes could've been different. The graphics are amazing though.
@S2th1 Read some Greek mythology and you will see that this portrait is acceptable... Achilles furry towards Hector was unmeasurable for killing Patroclus...
@TheXWitcher he didnt got the death from paris inform your self not from movies..if u realy wanna talk about it..and paris didnt make it either..almost 90% of the most imp people in the story died in the to story iliada or odisea ..who didnt die from war died after in strange ways or killed..only a few survieved menelau who in the movie is killed by hector survieves..and ulise aka odiseu..the guy who wants achilles in the war becouse he was one of the best or the very best warior
@TheXWitcher Oh yes? And who told YOU that? He didn't die because he deserved it..He died because it was ment be so.After his mother's words who was known as a Goddess, Achilles could either stay to Phtia and die old or go to troy and die young but with a lot of glory, honour (things that were the most significant that days) and fame after his name..

@zozo3ala Yeah, seems. But in fact it's one of the dullest I've ever made the mistake to buy. But agreed - nice done cutscenes, and the narrative thanks gods more taking from the Iliad itself than the movie ...
@SmallEarthling I agree the cutscenes were cool, plus the narrator's voice and the graphics. I think some of the voice actors could've been better cast, more characters available to choose from, the game could've stuck to the story more. This game does look cool though.
This game looks really boring- I see one move in particular used many times whenever the chance shows itself. You use your shield to parry and get their guard thrown astray and then you slash. Its pretty much the same gameplayer for both Achilles and Hector, and its all the same move that is used repetitively. Seems like the majority of this game is just slash and hack. With rage being the other frequently relied on and abused move. I will not buy this.
@Kwordmaster especially in the british accent lol i still don't understand that. I mean no disrespect to british people but it makes no sense for Romans and greeks speak with that accent.
@ElmerAwesome well, the greeks thought of war in two ways, blood lust and tactics. In many Greek stories, the ruthless characters are portrayed as whiny, emotional, and immature. In the Iliad, Homer portrays not only Achilles but also Ares and Diomedes to be pricks, for lack of a better word.
@MrRemcoremco Idk about "madmen" but more like babies. Ever see a toddler throw a tantrum? That's usually what it feels like when someone like Achilles is mentioned in an epic
@TidusGW360 In those times decimating an enemies body was how warriors got revenge or sent a conquering message to the adversary's people and land. I think that's why they showed Achilles doing that in the game.
Upon seeing the Achillies he ran (knowing he was the better fighter)... after running around the walls of the city, he eventually conquered his fear and turned to fight him. This fear all but vanished as Hector's brother Deiphobus appeared (who was Athena in disguise)... appearhently to aid him. He threw his spear at Achilles, but when he asked his brother for another spear, he vanished.
Hector is noble in TODAYS films cos he defend his nation, something valuable in this time, in ancient time Achiles was the best and he is still the best
He got to change his personality and became a better man, Hector RUNNED AWAY when he had to fight, yeah the brave Hector is not so brave
people that read the Iliad know this
ps I love both Achilles and Hector but please, don't compare them coz Achilles is the better man
@LouisianimalCTB hector is shown honorable because he was a trojan.Trojan are said to be the ancestors of Romans. Both English,German,Italian and north American societies hold Rome in a high place.Overestimated if you ask me.After that inaccurate troy movie of wolfgang petersen, where they killed menelaus infront of troy's walls,oh the hubris, everyone thinks hector was actually a good guy and achilles was a villain.how convinient...
@ArchEnemyNemesis1 I say Hector was honorable becuz he fought for his home and he would protect it no matter what. He was the greatest of all Trojans. I spent a lot of my free time looking up stuff about the Trojan War and Illiad. History is my thing. I know the movie Troy was inaccurate but I like it and I think Eric Bana made a good Hector. I know Hector ran from Achilles. And last I checked Hector was one of the Nine Worthies. Hector fought for Troy. Achilles fought for himself.
@LouisianimalCTB yes but all that is based on the movie.History is my thing as well,i am a history teacher.According to the Iliad Achilles was the honourable one because firstly,he sailed there even though he already knew he was going to die there.Secondly,he fought for his friend not for himself thats why he made this world personal.like i stated earlier hector stripped naked Patroclus's body and took the armor as a prize. I dont want to start a debate with you im just expressing my opinion
@ArchEnemyNemesis1 Don't get me wrong I don't want to start a debate either. Achilles was a pretty cool dude. Even in the movie he seemed honorable. People just don't no about the Illaid and watched the movie and made him the villain becuz he killed Hector. Hector is one of the most noble heros in the Illaid. Hector was bold, brave, peace loving, and a good person. He was a great son, husband, and would of been a great father. Its funny that we arguing who is better Hector or Achilles.
@LouisianimalCTB dont worry we are not arguing man.i know they were both men of honour.that both had their share of dishonourable moments too, as all men do.Achilles was a troubled yet fearless warrior,decisive in victory,knew that arrogance was the price to pay for these virtues,instilled fear but had a high sence of duty and finally a true friend.i admire them both.and i totally agree people just watch movies they dont read the books..peace V '_;
@darkbrother11 wrong. the city was real and as for the trojan war, we will never really know if it occured. but they could of kept to the book atleast
@juzdamkrazy1 no, there have been aproximately 5 citys found on the supposed spot where troy lay, the original dating back to the actual time the illiad is set could only house up to 5000 people, the lines between reality and myth have been blurred to much with the trojan war for us to really ever no any of it has historical fact, and considering that the illiad was the first book to be written after the greek alphabet was created its highly unlikely they had any books which doesnt help really
@juzdamkrazy1 no im right, u are wrong, the have been mutliple cities found where tory supposedly lay, this game is based on parts of the film and parts of the book
@darkbrother11 Its historical with Homer presenting layers of myth around solid facts to make his work more epic, thats why its a masterpiece and thats why Homer is so special. You can find similarities in various works taken from Homer in many others like Shakespeare for instance. The foundation of the city have been found by Slimann. You can read more about hi son too before jumping to conclusions.
@ArchEnemyNemesis1 the places, cities and war amy have some realisim to it, but homer changes a lot to the illiad as he does to the Odyssey to, bare in mind this was almost 3000 years ago, im not jumping to any conclusions im a classicist, i do no a fair bit of wat im talking about
@darkbrother11 you can always read more about it.Try Euripides. There are many truths as well.I am a historian so i know a thing or two.Like i said even things that sound nonsence have purposly hidden meanings about life in Homer.Like Helen of Sparta sparked a war so could for instance the first lady of u.s or the queen of England if she was kidnapped.
@ArchEnemyNemesis1 ur telling me a historian is going to call himself archenemynemesis? lol how do i no ur not just saying that to boost the point ur making, we've gone a bit off subject here, the trojan war, the city of tory possibly true, a war between greeks and trojans and their allies, also possible but the characters and events in the illiad cannot be relied upon for historical backing, ot
is there only 3 moves in this game or ?

This game is so inaccurate but still sick looking. Achilles hooks hector to his chariot and drags him around troy 3 times.
MrAlienChaos 3 months ago
@MrAlienChaos IKR! The game creators should've stuck with that fact. Even though this game does deviate from the myth, I want to get it myself.

this game seems epic !
zozo3ala 4 months ago
@zozo3ala Yeah, seems. But in fact it's one of the dullest I've ever made the mistake to buy. But agreed - nice done cutscenes, and the narrative thanks gods more taking from the Iliad itself than the movie ...
SmallEarthling 4 months ago
@SmallEarthling I agree the cutscenes were cool, plus the narrator's voice and the graphics. I think some of the voice actors could've been better cast, more characters available to choose from, the game could've stuck to the story more. This game does look cool though.

herrzorlo 5 months ago
This game looks really boring- I see one move in particular used many times whenever the chance shows itself. You use your shield to parry and get their guard thrown astray and then you slash. Its pretty much the same gameplayer for both Achilles and Hector, and its all the same move that is used repetitively. Seems like the majority of this game is just slash and hack. With rage being the other frequently relied on and abused move. I will not buy this.

Was it really neccesary for them to have Achilles chop the hell out of him when he was already dead?
TidusGW360 8 months ago
@TidusGW360 Yea since he said he would do that. Also I've always found achilles to be a prick in the movies and he also is like that in the game...
ElmerAwesome 8 months ago
@ElmerAwesome well, the greeks thought of war in two ways, blood lust and tactics. In many Greek stories, the ruthless characters are portrayed as whiny, emotional, and immature. In the Iliad, Homer portrays not only Achilles but also Ares and Diomedes to be pricks, for lack of a better word.
antebellumraus3 8 months ago
@antebellumraus3 So their actually unstable madmen?
MrRemcoremco 8 months ago
@MrRemcoremco Idk about "madmen" but more like babies. Ever see a toddler throw a tantrum? That's usually what it feels like when someone like Achilles is mentioned in an epic
antebellumraus3 8 months ago
@TidusGW360 In those times decimating an enemies body was how warriors got revenge or sent a conquering message to the adversary's people and land. I think that's why they showed Achilles doing that in the game.
HistoryLover1550 1 month ago
Foresakened, knowng he was about to die... he stood and fought to the end.
Kuro788 9 months ago
Upon seeing the Achillies he ran (knowing he was the better fighter)... after running around the walls of the city, he eventually conquered his fear and turned to fight him. This fear all but vanished as Hector's brother Deiphobus appeared (who was Athena in disguise)... appearhently to aid him. He threw his spear at Achilles, but when he asked his brother for another spear, he vanished.

the end just killed me.. poor Achilles he suffered a lot, anyway that what his mane means, suffering
Runnerrmejor 9 months ago
Hector is noble in TODAYS films cos he defend his nation, something valuable in this time, in ancient time Achiles was the best and he is still the best
He got to change his personality and became a better man, Hector RUNNED AWAY when he had to fight, yeah the brave Hector is not so brave
people that read the Iliad know this
ps I love both Achilles and Hector but please, don't compare them coz Achilles is the better man

Hector was honorable!!! I liked the Trojans better than the greeks
LouisianimalCTB 10 months ago
@LouisianimalCTB hector is shown honorable because he was a trojan.Trojan are said to be the ancestors of Romans. Both English,German,Italian and north American societies hold Rome in a high place.Overestimated if you ask me.After that inaccurate troy movie of wolfgang petersen, where they killed menelaus infront of troy's walls,oh the hubris, everyone thinks hector was actually a good guy and achilles was a villain.how convinient...
ArchEnemyNemesis1 9 months ago
@ArchEnemyNemesis1 I say Hector was honorable becuz he fought for his home and he would protect it no matter what. He was the greatest of all Trojans. I spent a lot of my free time looking up stuff about the Trojan War and Illiad. History is my thing. I know the movie Troy was inaccurate but I like it and I think Eric Bana made a good Hector. I know Hector ran from Achilles. And last I checked Hector was one of the Nine Worthies. Hector fought for Troy. Achilles fought for himself.
LouisianimalCTB 9 months ago
@LouisianimalCTB yes but all that is based on the movie.History is my thing as well,i am a history teacher.According to the Iliad Achilles was the honourable one because firstly,he sailed there even though he already knew he was going to die there.Secondly,he fought for his friend not for himself thats why he made this world personal.like i stated earlier hector stripped naked Patroclus's body and took the armor as a prize. I dont want to start a debate with you im just expressing my opinion
ArchEnemyNemesis1 9 months ago
@ArchEnemyNemesis1 Don't get me wrong I don't want to start a debate either. Achilles was a pretty cool dude. Even in the movie he seemed honorable. People just don't no about the Illaid and watched the movie and made him the villain becuz he killed Hector. Hector is one of the most noble heros in the Illaid. Hector was bold, brave, peace loving, and a good person. He was a great son, husband, and would of been a great father. Its funny that we arguing who is better Hector or Achilles.
LouisianimalCTB 9 months ago
@LouisianimalCTB dont worry we are not arguing man.i know they were both men of honour.that both had their share of dishonourable moments too, as all men do.Achilles was a troubled yet fearless warrior,decisive in victory,knew that arrogance was the price to pay for these virtues,instilled fear but had a high sence of duty and finally a true friend.i admire them both.and i totally agree people just watch movies they dont read the books..peace V '_;

darkbrother11 8 months ago
@darkbrother11 wrong. the city was real and as for the trojan war, we will never really know if it occured. but they could of kept to the book atleast
juzdamkrazy1 8 months ago
@juzdamkrazy1 no, there have been aproximately 5 citys found on the supposed spot where troy lay, the original dating back to the actual time the illiad is set could only house up to 5000 people, the lines between reality and myth have been blurred to much with the trojan war for us to really ever no any of it has historical fact, and considering that the illiad was the first book to be written after the greek alphabet was created its highly unlikely they had any books which doesnt help really
darkbrother11 8 months ago
@juzdamkrazy1 no im right, u are wrong, the have been mutliple cities found where tory supposedly lay, this game is based on parts of the film and parts of the book
darkbrother11 8 months ago
@darkbrother11 Its historical with Homer presenting layers of myth around solid facts to make his work more epic, thats why its a masterpiece and thats why Homer is so special. You can find similarities in various works taken from Homer in many others like Shakespeare for instance. The foundation of the city have been found by Slimann. You can read more about hi son too before jumping to conclusions.
ArchEnemyNemesis1 7 months ago
@ArchEnemyNemesis1 the places, cities and war amy have some realisim to it, but homer changes a lot to the illiad as he does to the Odyssey to, bare in mind this was almost 3000 years ago, im not jumping to any conclusions im a classicist, i do no a fair bit of wat im talking about
darkbrother11 7 months ago
@darkbrother11 you can always read more about it.Try Euripides. There are many truths as well.I am a historian so i know a thing or two.Like i said even things that sound nonsence have purposly hidden meanings about life in Homer.Like Helen of Sparta sparked a war so could for instance the first lady of u.s or the queen of England if she was kidnapped.
ArchEnemyNemesis1 7 months ago
@ArchEnemyNemesis1 ur telling me a historian is going to call himself archenemynemesis? lol how do i no ur not just saying that to boost the point ur making, we've gone a bit off subject here, the trojan war, the city of tory possibly true, a war between greeks and trojans and their allies, also possible but the characters and events in the illiad cannot be relied upon for historical backing, ot
