I'v had the chance to play games nearly all my life from arcade to rpg to the mmo's i cant choose because one without the other is like having icecream with out chocolate topping, each impacts on the others gaming experiance, each improve the other to make the game more and more intreasting as other games impact these two rock each others worlds, i switch between each for the change of views as other people have tryed to point out,please dont bag me out because gaming is a type of religion to me
In the corpgs you cant meet ppls outside the towns. Only in groups. In mmos you can wandering alone to, and in the miidle of nothing you can find someone to..And i think even bigger even better. All of the greates and best rpg games was very big places. Like Fallout 1-2, Baldurs Gate, Might and Magic etc.But this is only my own opinion.
Bigger can be better in some cases but only if the means of travel are fast enough (I'll admit that Fallout is one of those few games that does the bigger worlds better then the rest. For example though, Oblivion was TOO big in my opinion and that turned me off from it after a while.) Otherwise it's more of a con then a pro. I rarely ever ran into players outside of town in WoW though due to the size of the individual areas so I guess it's just personal experiences that sway my opinion to that.

I actually liked not being able to run into people outside of towns at times on Guild Wars, I'm a solo player even in WoW so I got really annoyed with random invites from low levels wanting to leech or running into people who would follow you around and steal all your kills.

To be quite honest, I disliked most things about Guild Wars except the PvP and disliked most things about WoW except Instances as PvP on there was...lacking in my opinion. I dislike both of them basically; not being able to meet anyone outside though is a mixed thing though, good because you won't run into kill-stealers but bad because if you need help or are bored, you are S.O.L. I must say, I am glad that we are able to discuss this like civilized beings unlike a lot of debates about the two.
True true true! In Oblivin was realy boring to travel. But in wow you have options. If you want you can travel slaw, you can wandering. You can travel faster, using bathandlers, or zepelins, or if you want to be realy fastm you can use portals or hearthstone, or other players can sum you to the meetin stones, or warlocks can you sumon from everywhere. And this is why im prefer wow. Many options!
It is an MMO as well. Unless you can somehow prove that it is not an MMO, that doesn't change anything about how the game is.
And just because something is bigger doesn't make it better. After all, 40 minutes to use one of the fastest means of travel to reach the opposite side is ridiculous, even as an exaggeration.
I played WoW for 2 months, and got so bored cause it took so long to level. WoW blows. GW you can level up and actually do stuff instead of leveling to 80 for like 2 years. GW is where it's at.

Why would you have rules if people just break them, GW would be chaos then, or any other game.. And, Guild Wars doesn't cost 180 $ because the trilogy is 50, or if you buy each game individually, it makes 80-90. So don't exagerate. If you are going by money then of course. But if you add in other games such as Maplestory or any other F2P game with a Cash Shop, by the logic of money Maplestory and those games are better. So that comparison doesn't really work.
With the new expansion Im pretty sure WoW is making more but it doesn't really matter that much anyway even if it isn't blizzard makes about 1.8-2 BILLION a month not including maintenance fees. I should make an MMO....

To me, it's a matter of casual vs. more hardcore gamer. If you're more casual and don't want to spend a monthly fee and all, go with GW, but if you're more hardcore then go with WoW. I have played both and both are good, but I like wow personally.

Personally I'm a Guild Wars guy myself. I gave WoW a chance, I bought it and played the trial it gives you but I didn't like it, what I also don't like is little WoW kids that haven't even touched Guild Wars that say WoW is better. Yes, you see that's the thing. WoW has too much freedom therefore getting rid of any chance of having any strategy. An 8 year... 6 year old could play this, and not know what he's doing, besides knowing that this spell does the most damage, and this armor has the most. As GW is NOT about doing missions "in stuff". But a strategy. And may I ask where WoW's missions (NOT QUESTS) are?
warcraft has a story, but you dont play the story in world of warcraft, its basically just you and other players playing and battling in the time of war in the story. The game is based around the "world" of warcraft, it is impossible to beat it and there is usually always something to do.
also, what do you mean by "a strategy"? There is "strategy" in WOW too, like doing instances and stuff. They are basically missions except you do them for items and quests and are part of a "sub-story" to the game.

If you are going by money then of course. But if you add in other games such as Maplestory or any other F2P game with a Cash Shop, by the logic of money Maplestory and those games are better. So that comparison doesn't really work.

With the new expansion Im pretty sure WoW is making more but it doesn't really matter that much anyway even if it isn't blizzard makes about 1.8-2 BILLION a month not including maintenance fees. I should make an MMO....

To me, it's a matter of casual vs. more hardcore gamer. If you're more casual and don't want to spend a monthly fee and all, go with GW, but if you're more hardcore then go with WoW. I have played both and both are good, but I like wow personally.

Personally I'm a Guild Wars guy myself. I gave WoW a chance, I bought it and played the trial it gives you but I didn't like it, what I also don't like is little WoW kids that haven't even touched Guild Wars that say WoW is better. Give each a chance if you haven't before you complain. Even if you don't like one don't say people suck for playing it, maybe they like that type of game and you don't, stick to your game then.

yeah they are 2 different games, its hard to compare them because it's more about what the player prefers doing. While wow in my opinion offers more freedom, gw is more about doing missions in stuff.

Yes, you see that's the thing. WoW has too much freedom therefore getting rid of any chance of having any strategy. An 8 year... 6 year old could play this, and not know what he's doing, besides knowing that this spell does the most damage, and this armor has the most. As GW is NOT about doing missions "in stuff". But a strategy. And may I ask where WoW's missions (NOT QUESTS) are?

warcraft has a story, but you dont play the story in world of warcraft, its basically just you and other players playing and battling in the time of war in the story. The game is based around the "world" of warcraft, it is impossible to beat it and there is usually always something to do.

I play Guild Wars cos its free and fun, and people play WOW cos they're willin to pay to play a game.
