  • 6:13 Horses: Hey! We'll go home. :)

  • Comment removed

  • those 2 horses at the end look like they are having a brilliant time lol xx

  • 5:08-5:28

Jeez that looks like a really bad fall......but not as bad as the person that had to be airlifted..horse back riding is sure dangerous but i still love it!

  • Seems to me every horse was trying to tell it's rider something before it all blew up.

  • Poor guy at 2:46 :( What an awkward situation

  • lol at appy running into dressage arena wall.

  • Wow, some of those were pretty funny! Some made me cringe. X|

  • 0.52 thats my trick when i feel unstable on a horse i grab the neck and hang on :P works well for me

  • Nice vid! I loved the horses who where running together at the end :p

  • 2:56 is sooo cute! not the fact he got stuck but just how he was watching everyone like heyy there!

  • Really cool video. I like how it ended with the two horses, sans riders, on the lam!

  • 1:06 is going to cut holes in her horse's side the way she is spurring him!

  • great, unusual footage. bravo

  • video gets stuck at 3.57. No way to advance it. Great clips.

  • Ralph Hill has not "since recovered". He still cannot talk correctly because of this accident. For you to have that scene in your little video for "entertainment" is just crude and disrespectful. The doctors didn't know that he would ever be able to WALK again- let alone talk, teach, or ride. That's ridiculous..

  • The horse at 0:06 is gorgeous

  • oh my god the horse at 2:45 looks exactly like my horse like exactly. when was this taken?

  • The video was taken last year at the June or July Poplar horse trials.

  • yeah, i agree, if you and the horse are prepared, you'll be fined. theyre are accidents, but normally the really bad ones are avoided by a well prepared team. there is a point of pushing thats dangerous, pushing you and your horse is good, but not to the point of danger.

  • 1:09 was RUDE HORSE! So was the other bucking one right after it

  • 2:10 nice recovery:)

  • i still want to be an eventer!!!!!

  • Do it...watching these is WHY we want to do it :)

  • Oh boy, that is bad :(

  • do u now why the riders and horses get hurt? the riders push them towords the jump!!! which is highly dangerous

  • i love how spunky these horses are...it takes a horse with spirit for the eventing sports and sometimes i guess we really need to focus on chanelling the energy! beautiful place tho!

  • I bet loads of other ppl have asked this already, but what happened at 1:25 (besides a terrible accident :/)

  • it was really bad accident. i dont kno all the details but i think the horse fell on top of the rider after the jump and the rider was really badly injured and the horse i believe had to be put down because of a broken leg or neck.

  • None of the horses in this video were injured to the point of euthanasia. If you are talking about the fall at 1:25, the horse did fall on the rider but got up and went back to the barn. The rider was critically hurt but has since recovered.

  • wow...why would you put pictures of Ralph Hill getting airlifted out?

  • seriously...

  • Cause its a video showing the good, bad, and the UGLY.....

  • but someone getting seriously injured???

i just don't really agree with that, but that's just me.

  • omg ive been there! haha lovely barn

  • some one was seriously injured :P they were being taken away in a helicopter! (lol?) and sweet video!

  • OMG! This place must have a curse! I went here last June for the USEA Champs 08, and I got eliminated :( haha

  • Thats funny how at the end those two horses were running together lol!!

  • oh jeeze, does anyone know why someone had to get air lifted out of the xc course?!

  • Ralph Hill had an accident at one of the corner jumps. He sustained some serious injuries but has since fully recovered. Last I heard he is back in the saddle.

  • YES!!

DAYMN!! They must hav really been hurt!!

  • Lmao i love the last part where 2 horses were loose together XD. They're like LOOK AT US! We're FREEEE. =p

  • I've tried showing at poplar place, it's not an easy place to show. My last horse was a national jr show jumper and he couldn't complete a poplar x-c course

  • Thats b/c show jumping and cross country are TOTALLY DIFFERENT

  • we competed at level 5 jumpers and we had problems schooling over their beginner novice jumps, even if we did them one at a time, much less do the whole course. Poplar Place is not an easy place to show

  • Still, goldenluckycharm is right----cross country is TOTALLY DIFFERENT. it doesnt matter how good ur horse is at statium----ur horse knows tht the jumps will fall apart. XC jumps r solid so they present a completely different challenge 2 the horse. and tryin 2 make a horse do an entire XC course if he never jumped anything solid b4 is insane.

  • yea, except that we evented at novice level for 2 years before competing in jumpers, and we boarded at a ton of eventing barns and schooled prelim at local shows. We showed at big bear and tyson and foxberry and he never had a problem with a cross country course before Poplar.

  • i really must apologize. im on poplars website now and there XC is really hard! some of there novice stuff looks like it should b training level! it must have been a great oppertunity 2 go school there.

  • Dont want to start this back up, but my horse is a hunter and could easily do a stadium round. XC... not so much. ;)

  • I think I stick with dressage

  • at 6:19 y were 2 loose

  • wow, 2 riderless horses galloping side-by-side! that's a once in a lifetime sort of shot!! xD

  • omg!! i know the girl at 2:05!! she rides at my barn

  • great job! this was a very good videoo!!

  • My trainer is in this...the horse getting stuck half way over. Its a good thing he didn't get hurt worse than some scratches. Go look at the boat though it has some battle wounds.

  • lol, I was schooling cross country in the summer, and I walked my horse over to the boat to have a look at it, and it had some nice gashes.. ahah.

  • wonderful video, I'd say just take out the helicopter pics of Ralph, it's just depressing to be reminded,

  • is this place in america? i am from the uk and just wondered how big eventing is over there?

  • yeah, it's in Georgia. There's about 40,000 people that event in the U.S. It's mainly popular in the North East and there's quite a few people the event int the South East as well.

  • on here i see so many affiliated level cross country courses and wish it was more like that here. to practise affiliated hieght jumps many riders have to travel far

  • @ihaveachestnutter Yes, it is in GA. Eventing is pretty big here especially in the east coast.

  • anyone going to poplar this weekend?

  • Scary where the horse got stuck over the jump. Poor thing. That's why I'm not a big fan of cross country

  • Superbe video vraiment =P

  • What happened with the person who was airlifted?

  • It was a rotational fall on a corner jump. Ralph Hill sustained a traumatic brain injury, broken wrist, humerus, and femur. It was a horrific fall but he's recovered very well and has even started riding again.

  • @kwilkes88 was the horse ok?

  • Life lesson: Never feed horse full grain before you do eventing!!!

  • nice appy!

  • who got airlifted out??

  • That was Ralph Hill. He was seriously injured but he's recovered pretty well and I think he's even started riding again.

  • strange the way they all run away after i spose it scares them!!

  • How much do you pay board....just wondering. Looks expensive!

  • I don't board there but it costs between $560-$615 depending on which barn you're in. It's so nice though.

  • Great vid. Love the ones of Marjolein and Werner, they look like they're having so much fun. I especially love watching Werner on XC, you can tell it's his love...along with her. LOL

  • lol the one horse got stuck half way over lol that's kinda awkward

  • great vid, some gorges horses and some nasty falls, the two lose horses at the end is so funny

  • so i guess you think it was funny when ralph hill fell off at the corners and had to be airlifted away? or when darren chiacchia fell off at redhills and collapsed his lungs? and yeah i would say my fall was a little jig, not the 4 foot drop that my horse almost made 6ft... and yes its so funny when the horse runs away, increasing the possiblity of ripping off a shoe or pulling a tendon

  • Well said mkmallory. If you haven't already, check out the vid of her riding on her profile. She's really one to talk, eh?

  • thank you =). and wow all i have to say is poor horse.

  • @CaitlinBlueSterling clearly you aren't an eventer...if you were you would know that everyone has a bad day and that like mkmallory said when they run away it's not funny at all, its dangerous to the horse and other people around.

  • are these you and your horses?

  • I have one video in there but the rest are of friends and just a bunch of other people who show there.

  • Aww that poor horse around 2:50 that gets stuck on the jump its just like "Umm, a little help here?" Awesome vid

  • 2:59 the horse sat their like... Okay I'm just giving up now

  • wow....some of them looked like they really hurt. I'm glad those wern't me.

  • 6:17 LOL

  • Lol at 2 minutes, I'd have tried to get her off too :D nice video though

  • Fun...

  • OMG at 2:55. Wow Poplar is like the next Red Hills!! I didn't know the medi-vac to come!

  • it wasn't the courses fault, if thats what you're implying.

  • duh. It's just a lot of people had mishaps, like Red Hills this spring.

  • this was taken over about a years time.

  • it still doesn't matter... I was just KIDDING. my god.

  • ...well i wasnt trying to be rude, sorry.

  • was that Hafflict at 5:48 or so?

  • VERY NICE!!!

  • I'm glad you like it. Isn't that band awesome? I totally LOVE the lead singer.

  • hahah OMG YEAH! he's such a hottie!!!

  • I think that band is AMAZING and they will always be successful! Thank you for posting! :)

  • great vid!!

  • Wow Popular Place looks like an amazing farm! where is it located?? Some pretty bad falls in there too!

  • It's located in Hamilton, Georgia, and it's an absolutely awesome farm. Beautiful farm, wonderful people, and just a fun place to ride.

  • The shows at Poplar Place Farm couldn't be done without all their wonderful volunteers who give their time and effort. It's a great way to see all the top riders/horses in the country and the international riders. I was able to watch Karen O'Connor and Teddy when I was the Jump Crew manager.

  • you can say that again lol

  • What are the song titles?.. Sounds a little like Saosin..

    Excellent compilations by the way..

  • Thanks. the songs for this video are Close your Eyes and These Dreams. for the other video the are the Pieces and Figure me Out. Yeah they've actually played alongside Saosin before and a few other bands like 30 Seconds to Mars and The Used. They're really awesome so check em out! Thanks again.

  • Cool.. Thanks! I asked Mary Kate about them and she told me to check them out on MySpace.. They are so awesome! Glad you were able to introduce me to them.. And thats so sweet that they played with Saosin before.. Cool stuff..

  • That's great. I'm really glad you liked their music. We're really excited about them so it's nice to hear some positive feedback.

  • Nice vid!

  • ah awesome!!!! love this. :) rocky made it into it to! =D haha, i wish that clip of tully would have made it into here. do you have the seperate file you could send to me through email or something?

  • yeah that clip of tully was awesome. i'll see if cheryl can send it or something.

  • thanks :)

  • awesome vid!! Though what was up with the air ambulance?? How bad was the person hurt to have to be airlifted??

  • That was Ralph Hill. He was seriously injured but has since recovered thankfully.

  • do you know injured "how"? As in broken arm.

  • Well he sustained a traumatic head injury, a broken wrist, humerus, and compound femur fracture. he was in the hospital for a long time but has recovered although i'm not sure if hes riding or teaching yet. it was a horrific accident and we're just glad he's ok now.

  • With the head injury I doubt he remebers the accident. And honestly I think the head injury would be the worst of it. I am hoping to go up (I am sadly having to get rid of my horses) and volunteer at the XC course in Tryon NC! I REALLy hope nothing like this ever happens. I wish him luck and again AWESOME vid!

  • Thanks. I'm sorry to hear about your horses. that must be rough. Volunteering is awesome. We've never really experienced anything too bad except for Ralphs' fall so I'm sure everything will be fine for you so good luck and have fun.

  • Its not bad or not as bad as I thought I know that there both great horses with a awesome future and though its in a way killing me there also going to make me very proud. I kind of hope thta my first time volunteering is free of anything bad!

  • luv the video, i send it to my friends who dont believe its so dangerous and hard!

  • Thanks I'm glad you liked it.

  • Great video!
