The R1 is dull and linear by comparison, plus has all the engine braking of a 2 stroke. Only place that the R1 outperforms the GSXR is the brakes and that's easily fixed.

It's really all preference man. Some bikers are better and feel better on some bikes while others don't. It's just really what you're capable of riding and things like that.

Performance wise they're all very close. Like I said, it's all about capability and comfort.

Looks are a big part of bikes. Nobody likes to ride an ugly bike, and realistically you don't race that often and it's about skill as well. So buy a bike that looks good to you, you feel good riding, and you'll be happy.

Lol... if you're just starting on bikes, an R1 will kill you. Start with a 250 or 500 or something. 1L will be too much at 1st. It's your bike and your risk so do as you wish, but you're gonna have some extremely scary moments if the R1 is your 1st bike and you get ahead of yourself.

I rode from home to work during and after the heavy rain then again to work on my 2nd job all in one day and survived..this was the first rain of the season too. main thing is you have to ride a lot slower and be easier on the brakes..it is a bit risky cause i did slide a bit but quickly recovered a week back but this is becoz of me braking too much and not dodging the oil I saw on the road...
