i just got a homeliite 3100 psi....my first gas pressure washer, when i start spraying and then let go, the motor sounds like it bogs down...i know the motor runs stronger when i pull the trigger and then slows down when i let go but i dont know if its normal...do all gas pressure washer's engine bog down everytime i let go of the trigger, this one on the video didnt bog down, it just slowed down. should i be concerned?
@HAKZORE the electric washers don't last as long. But then again the gas washers won't last that long either if you don't take care of it. I've had a gas washer for 4 years without any problems
@workensmart You might want to re-word your statement and say universal motor powered pressure washers will not last long. If you buy one that uses an AC induction motor then it will out last your gas one and be more powerful. You can get a 5 HP AC induction type pressure washer from northern tool, but you need a 240 volt dedicated circuit to run it.
@workensmart If your garage already has a panel then it also already has 240 volts because 120 volts is simply taking one leg of a 240v and a neutral to make 120v. Your panel will have two separate hot legs that when put together will make 240 volts. The wire size to use for 5HP electric motors is 10 AWG and the wiring must be dedicated, meaning you cannot have other devices also wired to this circuit. It can only go to one outlet that you plan to use for you 5HP electric motors.
@workensmart Your energy bill is charged per KWH which is a few cents for every kilowatt hours of energy you use. If you filled a gas powered pressure washer up with gas and let it run until it ran of gas and also ran an electric one for the same amount of time, then the electric one will be much cheaper to run. It would be like you pumping cents per gallon of gas instead of $3.00 per gallon. I suggest doing your own wiring instead of getting ripped off by an electrician.

@EETechs how much would it cost to have a 240 volt line run to your garage? how much would it run up your electric bills?
