  • Supercharger on cobalt? i thought they were all Turbo.

  • ran 14.2 both windows down easy 13s 13.5 with k&n and Magnaflow exhaust

  • Nice launch! Car looks sharp ! What is your 1/4 mile time for this?

  • @blhbjh I haven't ran 1/4 mile yet LoL!! and even this 1/8 mile isn't time! *yikes* one day though,...one day!!

  • @demariojason lol keep me posted !

  • nice car

  • 4 cyl aganist an 8. Of course the 8 is gonna win!

  • Time?

  • YOU JUST RUNNING A K&N CAI?

  • @PlayasWays yes sir!! I think I remember flipping my motor mount, which keeps the engine more in place(or from flexing), which increases better power transfer to the wheels! ;-) but no major mods at all. But my friend this small block LS motor is nothing of a slouch! lol!

  • @demariojason cool.. i got a 2006 monte 5.3 SS with a CAI, hogan down pipe.3inch pipe SPL mufflers, and perfomance tune chip... i like seeing ur monte take out all the little cars haha...

  • @PlayasWays

That's really all I have on my 2006 Monte Carlo SS beside's changing the rim's to lighter rim's and performance tire's and of course FULL MSD IGNITATION.

My best run on the new rim's,since they weight about 20-ish lbs,and with my better and new performanctire's my best run was a 13.8 but averaged about 14.0-14.2 on my time's.

  • do you know where I can get pics of the pace cars for the AMS since 2005?

  • Sorry my friend,.....I have no idea....

  • Oooo-Oooo-oooo....OH Mr. MARIO......all this talk is making me all OiIy & MOIst...put that Banana in dat TAIL-PIPE....and mash it on the gas till it's PUdding,..,,BABEEEEEE!

  • LOL!!

  • that's one quick monte

  • Cobalts are 4 cylinders right?

  • yep! supercharged for the SS's! he downsized on pulley, has a K&N cold air intake and its tuned! maybe some other goodies he didn't tell me about. I just had an intake at that time.

  • yea

  • any after market parts on the monte carlo ?

  • yes: K&N intake & flipped motor mount. deleted resy and super 40's. Thats it. I plan on getting down pipe, cat back, poly motor mount, & tune ;)

  • i'm thinking about getting one. what was your time

  • you know unfortunately this wasn't your traditional ticket printing drag strip! This was a ATL motor speedway where you run what ya brung, win or lose. But these vehicles are low 14 secs stock but can easily achieve 13 with the right launching! I guy from LS1 tech has a 07 Monte with LS6 springs, rockers, K&N intake cut out exhaust, shift kit, drag radials & ran 13.00!! :0

  • have to buy a used one chevy quit making them. thats why i hate gm they have something good and they always fuck it up. 1. they never should of dcd the camaro (i know its back). 2. they never should have stopped pontiac, pontiacs cars were sexy especially a '70 t/a. 3. why dc the montes?

  • @grassy04 why make the montes FWD? the best montes are the 80s SSs they look the best are rwd and had big ol' v8s, the new v8 montes are all right but fwd just isn't the same...

  • @TheMikeyEl you know what my friend?? your exactly right!! I think The G bodies are the best body style ever created "period"!!!

  • @TheMikeyEl i prefer the rwd montes to esp the early 70s but a new generation and a fwd v8 is pretty sweet in my book, would rather have rwd as well but its still nice

  • @TheMikeyEl btw the 80s ss didnt have big v8s they were pussy lil 305s second worst motor ever made next to the 307

  • @TheMikeyEl When you remain stuck in the past, you can't appreciate the future. Ever see a FWD V6 blow away RWD 400HP V8s? I do everyday... I drive a '04 Supercharged FWD, runs 12.5@110mph in the quarter... You're right though, driving a FWD Monte just isn't the same... I'm done the 1/4 by the time the stock 80's SS reaches the 1/8th. LOL

  • @lav74yahoo i do believe technology has to change and progress but FWD will never be on the same level as RWD in terms of performance. When you put too much power into it it's completely useless on anything but a drag strip, and even then they still torque steer. Even the most advanced FWD platforms with the best trick diffs can't handle much over 300 horse.

  • @TheMikeyEl i agree with you about fwd vs rwd. fwd shouldnt be in performance vehicals. i owned a 05 cadillac dts fwd with the 300hp northstar and it could break motor mounts at will! lol this monte would be perfect if it was rwd.
