Hello. Gas costs more in europe, really. But I think that in the case of netherlands it's to avoid that many people have cars.
Everybody takes their bikes and go to do everything. the consequence is that the air in Amsterdam, for example, is breatheble.
I like the idea of leaving cars and taking bikes. In Amsterdam is cool because everything is prepared to bikes, the streets, the signs.

Our economy is in a tight spot because of world economy as well. They passed the bail out but the there are other countries facing the same witch also injures our economy. We can no longer depend on other countries for fuels.Mccains proposals on fuels, and wind power, and nuclear plants will increase our countries produce and make less of our countries debts. But see, it's not that they're lusy, in 1971, Nixon got us off the gold standard, that has now screwed our economy ever since. Less jobs, devaluation of the dollar, and others were sure to follow, and they did.
McCain is def not the guy to go for though, he's too much like Bush; who, during his term, lost almost 13% of the dollar value.
