Actually, the DVD has the orginal Seasons Greetings cartoon that inspired the movie, both created by the director. The toon is awesome.

I think a recurring theme in the movie, and also the toon, is violence towards children. I think the director has a real deep seeded problem with child predators, even if it's other kids preying on them.

Wasn't there a book with short stories in them and one of them is very similar to this man's story. I read it back in 1996 and it was a paper back that looked like it had been out for awhile. I saw this movie in Chicago during the Terror in the Aisle 2 fest. I'd hyped it up like crazy, and I gotta say it held up pretty well to my expectations. Not perfect, but definitely cool. They (meaning Warner Bros.) shouldn't have released what Sam looked like underneath his mask though...that's a shame.
