  • actually both movements are right... ...people just need to know which to use when and why... ...you go to your upper chest with elbows in T form to your torso when you want to hit pecs with high rep and low weight... ...usually only bodybuilders do it this way... ...everybody else should do it the powerlifters' way since it's safe to press heavy weights...

  • @jsufi1 old school movement, called the "suicide bench press" or simply neck press. targets the chest!

  • @truestrength91 When you bring the bar to the Stirnum clavicle is trains the Pectorials. Most people bring the bar down to their lower chest line - This trains the shoulders as well as the chest.

  • @jsufi1 Technically its called Guillotine Press. A popular exercise back in the old days to hit the chest, especially the upper region. Certainly not for everyone as it puts the shoulder rotator cuff in a precarious position :)

  • @jsufi1 its called a guillotine press. targets the upper chest more. if you do it, make sure you start off lighter than you would do with a normal bench press and use a spot!

  • @jsufi1 if you notice, sibil tells him to hit his lower chest at the start - working more lower chest. Then he moves onto doing guillotine press ( lowering the bar to his neck ) which emphasizes the upper chest a lot more.

  • @jsufi1 just to add to what truestrength91 said, it's actually one of the best exercises to stretch out your chest and help it grow, do it after 1 or 2 compound lifts for chest.

  • @jsufi1 Benching pressing to the neck targets your upper chest, use a lighter weight and do the movement very strict it works very well for upper pec development, alot of bodybuilders use this excersise.

  • @1JanDeMan1 Holding the bar under the chest crease isolates the chest taking the shoulders out of the lift(somewhat).

    Keeping your elbows tucked takes the triceps out of it making the weight more on the chest and activating less of the tri's. Hope this helps.

  • personally i quite like having sandpaper callous ridden hands......they are a result of the hard work i put in the gym and the hours ive spent deadlifting. they earn me respect. but to each his own, all up to you in the end man.

  • actually i am pretty sure the sponges are for grip. there is a similar product that i have seen on tv and with a better grip you get more power. more of a mental thing for you to be able to maximize muscle output so your mind won't limit muscle power for safety.

  • @2TheGuy2 He alternates between several different positions. Lowering the bar closer to the chin when benching puts more emphasis on the upper pecs.
