  • Thanks for sharing, my home town Slidell, Louisiana which sits across Lake Ponchartrain from New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina left a third of the town homeless and eighty-five percent of the city damaged.

  • Hi. What's the name of the Kevin Macleod song that starts at 1:45??

  • Whats the song at 1:52? Sad song...

  • @jbeibide I guess you should use a spell checker. I think you missed the point. The people in the video were dumb enough to stay and brought the horror on themselves. I left. And by the way, I lost everything I owned in the flood.

  • @akdcc Sorry about your loss!

  • I watched a church congregation in NC pray for NoLeans'...Yep, this fine group of church-going christians held 'prayer-vigils' asking God for the complete devastation of this 'evil city'...Yes, the church was actually happy their prayers had been heard and such a nightmare was unfolding for all those people!...Unreal...but so true and common...

  • stupid americans - its just nature that turns against you - you´re the main cause of the climatic change as well as the chinese - so to hell with you - listen to highway to hell while driving your fat cars and turn on the air conditioning system.

or poison the sea with oil whatever greedy fucks

  • aawww thats so saddd):

  • And george bush did very little to help anyone!! Now, with President Obama as our president, the repubicans are sitting on their hands and refuse to let Him do anything!! When disaster strikes, dont call on a repubican to do anything, unless you are the wealthy!!!!

  • wow all the nasty comments... some are rediculous you would think the people would watch the movie to the entirety before passing judgement. what a bunch of Idiots!

  • @jbeibide Oh well... you got to expect some hater comments!

  • I lived in St Bernard and was smart enough to notice that Katrina covered the entire Gulf of Mexico and I evacuated with the rest of the non-ignorant.

  • "A hurricane is a party event"? Wow. I did not know that. I'm a Californian. My heart goes out to you guys. It's been 5 years and I hope you've rebuild your life. God bless

  • This Reminds me of Back Home In Nigeria. :( Sad. This used to happen to Us Like during raining season which is alot during when it rains, Sad part is that There are snakes in the waters that floods into our House and a whole bunch of other things that I can't imagine :( Sad Sad Sad :(

  • @dmbfreek You my friend are a reason to be proud of America. You will never see an American making fun of a Brit during their time of need. Those American soldiers you're talking about saved your ass in WWII so watch your fucking tone when talking about the corps you swine.

  • awww

  • Only children would think of this. Immiture, lifeless children.

  • if americans were inteliigent, they wud hv decreased their co2 emission, instead of waiting for other katrina-like hurricanes to show up due to global warming.

  • There was a hurricane? When did this happen?

  • I'm not even going to waste my time arguing with all of the people playing the "The government told you to evacuate!" and "Your city's under sea level, what did you expect?" cards. THEY are the ignorant ones.

  • Jaydime: that's cuz the ones tht hit florida weren't bad... People did help when Andrew hit... Katrina was serious

  • i feel bad for the people

  • The first few scenes made me think this was some stupid joke. But after that...it's very serious. Those were some scary, sad images from Katrina. Thanks for posting this video.

  • As a Floridian the year before we were hit with 4 hurricanes.......and no one said shit! Yes the event was horrible. Yes it's a wake up call but fuck the media. Florida gets slammed by 4 and not a word or offer to help. That's fucking sad

  • I was sooo angry at first....but now I get the video after that first minute. Thanks for sharing. ^_^

  • How ya'all doin'?

  • How can this be Bush's fault? If you think it is, then he must be a god. Unfortunately not. You people who decided to stay back did not take the warnings seriously? How lame to think that a president has the power to whip up hurricanes.

  • @azobzervnt bush or/and friends, coz so many people with common sense, including 9/11 victims' families, ask in vain for a true investigation taking in account what has been found in the dust, and coz someone must have paid for HAARP and playing with it to train, pushing the ionosphere with gigawatt of power to see how it bounces back creating sismic changes on earth (weather changes, earthquakes, etc) and whatever else we don't know apart plasma shield and communication disruption

  • @azobzervnt One word. HAARP. It doesn't take much to start a hurricane. Ever heard of the "Butterfly Effect" or "Chaos Theory"?

  • America is a urinal. Afghanistan will break the "Good Ole" US of A. Just as it broke the USSR. We are headed toward disaster. The economy is shit. Most Americans are fat slobs that sit around watching American idol. 1/3 of American kids are diabetic and overweight welfare rats. Soldiers are gonna start dying by the hundreds soon. Obama is a fucking child. Bush was a retard. The only people that will benefit are the wealthy elite. Go back to sleep America. Nothing to see here.

  • @09geauxtigers Wow. a bit negative but some accuratcy to the complaint. Afghanistan is basically a waste of resources, effort and men. As a nation and a people they are generally not our friends,, they are not good friends when they are friends. They are too combative with each other to do anyone in the world any good.

The land is very poor, the people self-destructing and deluded by their religious views.

A victory in Afghanistan is a pyrrhic victory not worth having.

  • Yeah i was three days away from that, scary. :/ x

  • @lucyandjosh you were so close to being in the rubble...

  • Must of been so horrible going through all of that.

  • Why have so many people disliked this video?

  • @andybpiano Some didn't watch it all the way through and therefore think I was poking fun at Katrina.

  • @MannyBei yeah well throw more parties Jerk!!

you can throw parties in hurricanes when you think you are hunkered down.

Until you get Hit like everyone who was affected. Now you cry and want sympathy.

  • @andybpiano hopefully they dislike what its about

  • @CrysisXiX your a dumbass the reason why they didn't leave is because they get hurricane warnings and evacuation warnings all the time so this was like the same thing they didn't want to wait in 12 hour traffic just to leave and find out that nothing happened that's why they stayed this time but this one was real

  • The Day their Laughter Stopped, and ours began.

  • @LGTheOneFreeMan exactly.

    "we'll wait it out"

    morons.

  • HOW DUM R U??? U NEED TO DELETE URSELF, N B PUT INA ROOM WIT ALL DA VICTIMS N EXPLAIN TO THEM HOW FUNNY THIS IS........IDIOT!!!

  • @PNAS99 I think the video explains well the seriousness of katrina and no laughing matter. We were victims too...

  • @PNA why dont you learn how to spell.... dumb ass before u post a comment! If you watched to the entirety numbnut you would understand the people in this video were as well involved in the tragedy...

  • @PNAS99 maybe u should watch a lil more than 39 seconds

  • this is no laughing matter

  • no offense but if you live in a city below sea level expect this to happen.

  • I feel for you. Hurrican's are not something to take lightly. And for all you people who are commenting how stupid people in Louisiana are because they wouldn't leave their home.Seriously did you ever think that maybe they didn't have somewhere else to go?I can't believe people can be so heartless.

  • And you idiots were warned by the damn government. Nice job being ignorant.

  • thats too bad everyone wasnt wiped out.there would be no loss to even speak of.

  • Welp thats what you get for being pieces of shit C:

  • serves you right for not taking huricanes srs

  • @MrJonesygirl Sica is fine and living in California

  • haha lol c my video of my experince of katrina

  • Im sorry, but Im from Florida. When we hear theres a Cat. 4 or 5 hurricane coming we LEAVE. Its there own fault they got hurt....they didnt leave. Didnt the governer get warned years before that the leeves couldnt withstand a bad storm? Also, Im happy to see atleast one video showing whites that were effected. Atleast they werent looting stores for TVs and stereos.

  • Still no mention of just how many live were lost during Hurricane Katrina.

That hurricane truly demonstrated how ineffectual our Government is.

  • @EMPIREofPUPPETS About 1800 hundred lives in Louisiana and 125 in Mississippi

  • Don't spill your beer buddy!

  • I like this video as it shows the families humour at a hurricane party, all for it to go terribly wrong and the seriousness of the situation is revealed later. I feel so sorry for those poor people in New Orleans and still remember them 5 years on.

  • @enemgy It's sad about the devastation Stan did in Guatamala, Our experience cannot compare to mass devastation and suffering in the world . This was just a personal story I wanted to relate..

  • @enemgy No what was a catastrophy was the people who died, the people who are still missing, and the people who lost everything.

  • oh y gosh, what are you doing there were really people hurt and houses messed up, why, why, why, why, would you make fun of something so devastating that happened to real people? I pity you, I really do, I hope you never have to go through something like this, I love you.

  • It's hard to imagine people are still living in FEMA housing 5 years later. President Obama just doesn't care about the little people.

  • Obama inherited the results of this incident from Bush.

  • Funny enough, I laughed at the title

  • The day the laughter stopped? More like the day the laughter began! YEAH!

  • sorry for your lost!

  • This is one of those videos where I do not know to thumbs up or down. Just like the video of the whale killing the trainer at sea world. Ratings should be disabled for tragedies.

  • LOL Fucking hilarious. "Oh hey look a hurricane!" Cool beans! Let's party! Uh oh...oh shit! NOOOOOO! Everyone's dying! AAAH!!!! Help!!!!!!

  • @iqbaldisouza1 Oh shut up. Aren't you Brits also in Iraq as well? Shut your god damned mouth you hypocrite.

  • @iqbaldisouza1 That is assuming your from Britain and not some other country in the UK.

  • I'm sorry to see that happen to you, your home, and all your property. I hope all is well now.

  • Wow this video is truly an eye opener. We hear about disasters happening in far away places but never think that it can happen to us until the day comes. Once the disaster hits you hometown it changes you.

  • i was hoping this hurricane would be the extinction of all NIGGers

  • @2arunout black people are

  • @philly1537 last time i checked if it wasn't for us white people you wouldn't even be here in the U.S., you'd still be some jungle bunny in Africa.

  • @equestrianchick92 not really learn history other races invented time calenders and everything of significance the white man was so dumb they burned books of information then claim to discover it hundreds of years later without gun powder you would be nothing but other races wasnt thinking nuclear weapons to blow up each other you had the worlds shortest empire reign for 40yrs while blacks asians middle easterners indians ruled for hundreds of years during their reign. /watch?v=_ma3yBnD3P0

It was god that saved me that day i wouldve been dead. The only thing that saved me was the Size of our House it was big enough to Withstand Everything 9000SQ Feet Imagine what it did to the people with small houses.

  • @liljohnnydel1 You spelled country wrong your racist idiot.

  • I feel bad for Katrina victims but there are no needs to anniversary documentaries. Katrina was not the worst hurricane by any means. It neither Cause the most Damage, or kill the most people. There only reason why it got attention is because it hit a area that was not ready for it, and the operations of food, shelter, rescue, and so on. Was and still is being complete mishandled. So can we stop dwelling on Katrina, and acting like they are the only victims of hurricanes.

  • @TherianGamer490 Idiot- it got attention because of the destruction it caused and the number of lives it took; Katrina caused a chaos almost unheard of in the US. Many people didn't think that New Orleans would ever recover. Commemorating Katrina five years later celebrates the lives lost and rejoices at the fact that Katrina did not mean the end of New Orleans; New Orleans is recovering. Katrina is real to every person who lived through it, and to stop dwelling on it would be a mistake.

  • @ShadowTerra13 As I pointed out before in my comment, neither killed the most people or caused the most destruction. I am not talking in general, I am speaking with in the united states.

  • @TherianGamer490 Yet the hurricane was the costliest of all; and even if not the worst, it was among the worst. The area is still recovering. New Orleans, a city so dedicated to its history, lost a huge chunk of that history. It will never be completely the same.

  • @ShadowTerra13 I will agree with costly however the cost does not equate to the fact that the area is still recovering. As 19 billion government recovery money has yet to be spent on the rebuilding process. Not to mention how much money they have received from donations. So cost in this case has no real significances in this tragedy, as most of the rebuilding should be over with by now.

  • @ShadowTerra13 As for the history, it was not lost. Building from the past, and artifacts maybe lost which is tragic...but if they want they can simple rebuild the building in the same design the first was built. Besides those building years down the line would have been abandon or torn down. It is a fact, as building decay. No it wont be the same, not because it can't be. But because people wont let it be. It's not building or places make a city. It's culture.

  • @TherianGamer490 so your saying that we should not remember everyone who died in this terrible event? All the damage this caused? This will always be a scar in my state and we don't take to kindly to people who just push it aside like it was nothing.

  • @AshXXMayftw You misunderstand me, I do think we should pay respects to the dead, and remember Katrina. I just annoys me, that one tragedy gets more attentions over any other. Millions of people die each year, floods and tornado's destroy towns, and cities.

  • @AshXXMayftw Everyone thinks I am being a jack ass by saying Katrina does not need so much attention but the fact is you all go by daily with out remembering a single town that have been destroy by a flood or tornado. Or the thousands of lives Texas and Flordia have lost to hurricanes.

  • @TherianGamer490 I agree. Katrina doesn't deserve that much attention. Personal Opinion: Let's stop staring at the hurricanes, and instead, let's stare at the loss we suffered.

  • @TherianGamer490

Texas and Florida haven't had a single storm do this much damage in over a century..

  • Comment removed

  • @fredlburrows Oh...so...something has to happen in mass for it to become important? Also, what about cumulative effect? Florida is often hit by hurricane or tropical storms anywhere from 1 to 3 times a year. Each taking it toll in different parts of the states. Each shutting down business, and costing money to clean up. But thanks good to know that if something happens in mass, the effect of the disaster or death that is has on each person is more significant.

  • @TherianGamer490

Actually yes, you just answered your own question. Wouldn't it be much more of a burden if you had to pay all your bills for the year at once on one day, rather than once a month?

Wouldn't it be much more tragic if your entire family died in the same accident rather than one family member dying one year and another dying a couple years later.

It much easier to deal with things that are spread out rather than happen all at once. I can't believe you are even serious

  • @fredlburrows You are speaking about the mental capacity to handle a situation, which I understand is human nature however each person judges it differently. What I am speaking of is the significance or value of human life. To put it simple if I give you three pennies, it might equal 3 cents however each Pennie is still worth one cent. (Shivers at the thought of comparing human life to money, but it was the best example I could think of).

  • @TherianGamer490

No offense, but now you've completely lost me. I don't know what you are trying to say, lol.

Katrina was bad news though. It gets a lot of attention b/c it literally put a city out of comission for awhile. New Orleans was the largest area, population wise, affected, but we can't forget about the rest of the Gulf Coast like Biloxi, Mobile, etc. etc. My extended family alone lost about 8 houses in and around New Orleans from Katrina. It is hard to bounce back from that.

  • @fredlburrows My whole point, that i have stuck to this entire time is. The losses in Katrina are no more significant then the losses to anyone person. You can't stand there and tell me the person say in Texas who deals with multiple floods yearly. Who loses his home, is any less or more important to you. Yes I understand your happened in mass, and thus must receive greater financially and federal attention. However not media, at least not to this extent.

  • @TherianGamer490

The media typically overhypes things and generally does a bad job at everything they do. For instance, it was impossible to get accurate information during Katrina, the "journalists" kept repeating the same things hour after hour, day after day, and little to none of it was anything more than speculation.

  • Comment removed

  • lol

  • bitch was crying his cheese and food stamps blowed away I pissed all over myself I laughed so hard

  • Fake and just propaganda. No White people were effected by Katrina.

  • @Elduders= Yeah, and Santa Claus is real. Idiot.

  • @Elduders are you serious? I'm white and I live in Lakeview (New Orleans). Our house was under 12 feet of water and we're still not completely back to normal or rebuilt yet. Thats just plain wrong to say that, man.

  • @MrPiNkFlOyD96 You are lying... just more of the white mans propaganda.

  • @Elduders How would you say that you stupid asshole. I'm not saying other races weren't affected more. Some were because of poverty and being stupid and not leaving when they had the chance. But to say that whites were not affected at all is just being a dick. I'm not racist, but I hate all of that shit with it was all the whites fault and they got no help from us because we're racist. If anyone is racist, it's people like you. Not all black people, just ignorant d-bags like you.
