  • @Terminator4fire = Douche.

  • RIOT......OVER......GAME......LOSS...thats sleep on the concept of it being the best place to live . Im just saying!

  • i dunno what to think of vancouver cos im gonna go over to canada for a year but ive herd that it rains a lot, im thinking theres 2 different sides to living there and visiting there

  • "precipitation issue?" That's a laugh coming from a guy from LONDON!!!

  • It's a pretty city.... fantastic for Outdoorsy types or if your a developer....A Cultural backwater if your into arts. Worldclass?....Not in my mind...The Bus and Skytrain service is pathetic and sadly people tend to be very cliquey and hard to connect with....

  • @Terminator4fire Wow. That's a lot of trolling squished into one post! You can't spell and your grammar is pathetic, but I am still impressed by how much inflammatory idiocy you crammed in.

Too bad there's no money in being a douchebag, because you're a natural!

  • If it wasn't even enjoyable to visit, I cannot imagine living there. Whistler is cool and is worth a trip, but don't see why they're bragging about the ocean/"beaches" (lol) when the water is far too cold to swim in. Beautiful, yes, but more so the nature around the city rather than the city itself, although pretty clean (lack of trash) parts looked old and run-down i.e walking over dirt where sections of sidewalk were missing, surprisingly high # of gross-looking buildings, not to mention al

  • it sucks no diversity, and boring as hell.

  • i lived in Vancouver last year.....

i'm sure one day i wanna back there

  • i like cities being multicultral and have respect to all the different races.. it's just so cool how a place can bring people around the world to live together ^-^

  • A perfect mix of nature and a metropolitan city, which is Vancouver!! Vancity 2010 baby!!

  • moving there when i finish school .. cant wait !!

  • its that huse bloody white things with the blue windows?

  • Rawlywood? I've lived here all my life, almost 40 years and I've never heard this term before. Is this something some torontonians invented?

  • Yeah I have been here nearly all my life and that is also new to me.

  • @cobalt4242 Why does everybody dislike Toronto? Do they see it as being of American influence? Whenever I entre the city I feel as Canadian as ever.

  • die soon

  • don't forget all the kids with an "N" on the back of the little second hand Honda. First thing they do is run out and buy a fart can noise maker to replace stock muffler. Then they piss off all the neighbors with the racket.Fucking brain dead morons!

  • @tubesteakbooky chill out, getting a novice licence has nothing to do with brain capacity, it's essential if you want to get a dl in BC. Just because you're old and senile doesn't give you the excuse to group N drivers with a couple inconsiderate jerks in your neighbourhood.

  • i used to justify my move to alberta by saying that we get much more sunshine than the lower mainland, which gets lots of rain all year round.

then i lived here in the winter without proper winter gear. the temperature dropped to -47C with wind chill, my feet became chapped from toe to heel just from driving in my car (with no floor heater), i had to apply extra strength vaseline on my face every day, my hands were always dried out and cold. BC <3

  • a little bit of a traffic problem?

  • I lived here since 1970.. born in calgary in 69

  • Vancouver was a nice place before all the foreigners showed up and ruined the place.

  • how did the foreigners ruin vancouver? pls i'd like to know and understand where you're coming from....

  • I am very interested to live for a while in vancouver...What do you mean by "Nightlife sucks ass"? What do they offer?

  • vancouver is cool...but god do they need a highway through the downtown-it can get really gridlocked

  • They should build an underground freeway like in Boston. From Cambie to Stanley Park. But thats rediculously expensive.

  • There being no freeway downtown is one of the reasons Vancouver is such a nice city. Some of us have learned to live without cars.

The giants highways that run through cities ruin their beauty.

  • Portland has a freeway that cuts through town and its pretty nice looking.

I think elevated mega freeways would be innapropriate for van.

Camby is good south of the bridge but then when you cross it slows and narrows and there are lights every block. .

  • I think we're going to end up debating esthetics & priorities.

    Freeways encourage sprawl.

I personally would advocate banning cars within inner cities .And building comprehensive, efficient public transportation systems.

But that's just my opinion, and it would never be implemented. ^___^

  • Wow seriously, there is no way in hell it is as bad as some of the cities I have been to.

Walk around Philadelphia some night and you will see sooooo many addicts and homeless people out in the streets.

On top of that, it is likely if you leave South Street you are going to get robbed, assaulted or shot.

    Try Detroit or Baltimore.

You can't go to a major city and expect there to not be any people living on the low end but seriously, try somewhere else and I bet you miss it there.

  • Eradicating and eliminating the problem of the DTES only moves it to another neighbourhood. Deal with it, don't just move it, people.

  • How does one deal with it?

  • dude...seriously? no metro?wtf?

    public transit here is awsome.

  • ive been to vancouver well over ten times and i must say what ruins it for me are all the drug addicts. Is there any chance of walking a block with out 4 guys asking me for change?

  • I couldnt watch this stupid video as he never stood still and the cameraman ran around him and it makes one dizzy. F***ing idiot cameraman...por production.

    Vancouver, Canada.

  • Toronto is a hell hole i used to live there if you want smog rude people and bad drivers

who think they are from the centre of the universe goto Toronto you want heaven come here

  • long time ago.....the ice age is over didn't anybody tell you ?

  • whiners....try living in a real city like Toronto

  • Yeah Vancouver is paradise. We have a few problems, like all cities. The downtown eastside is definitely an issue, but we are slowly developing it out of existence, the crack heads are a public health issue, not really a problem otherwise. As for cyclists etc with no respect for traffic laws... i cant really argue abut that... they drive me NUTS!

  • Good video and don't listen to the previous comments. Vancouver is an awesome town and I'd live here permanently if I could. East side scum? One could only image that you are a racist SOB, who dislikes most people including it seems bikers and thrashers.

  • Too bad the video missed the legions of crack head zombies walking around all over pushing stolen shopping carts through neighborhoods at night making it impossible to get a decent nights sleep.

Check the garbage once the city workers strike is on for a week or two.

  • I've not been to Vancouver yet (although I consider moving there at some point) but - who cares about junkies? As long as they stay in their areas, not my problem. You can find same everywhere, but working people don't live amongst crack whores and have better places to go for a family walk on Saturdays..

  • OhFishyFish,

"As long as they stay in their areas, not my problem."

Fair point. Problem is - they DON'T stay in their areas. There are so many of them, and they invade our neighbourhoods all day and night long. To go through the trash bins. Try getting a good nights sleep - you can't any more. Hundreds of stolen shopping carts combined with a recycling industry have pretty well ruined what once was a very nice urban setting.

  • Please don't show videos like this. There are too many people here already. And they are all beginning to behave like rats in a cage.

The video forgot to mention the east side scum is spreading its tentacles throughout the city, ethnic honour killings are routine, and driving in downtown is a nightmare where bikers pedestrians and skateboarders are oblivious to the concept of right of way.
