@raulgomez902 know that once the car is running and you are passed 1st gear, the car will not stall. Don't be so concern about stalling ..it won't happen!
I was even worse at it then you bro i got my rx8 yesterday and it was bad for a while. The pressure at lights made me wanna quit when I stalled I paniced and it made it worse and now when I stall it's funny to me. My thing watch these instructional videos and do your best to stay calm remember that those who know you've stalled a stick will understand I would. I will sometimes it's not too bad now I've been in traffic its not that bad on hill f that. Lol good luck and keep on truckin
This video was actually one of the most helpful ones I've seen. It helped me because I gta watch n listen to how shewas teaching u. I'm buying a brand new 2008 g5 n I need to learn to drive it. And quick. Thanks for the vid :)
lol when i bought my first car it was a02 si, n i was learning to drive it around 2:00 am after being blazed out i whent to a mcdonnals n i fuckn stall the car at the drive through like 9 times ina row the guys face at the window was priceless hes like wtf. ahaha
aww ur soo adorable. u remind me of one of my best friends in florida lol.. thanksx for the video. it help i been trying to learn how to drive but it gets so frustrating you now lol
@RachelFuryRocks I feel u man I bought a 2011 Subaru Impreza Wrx sedan two weeks ago and even though I rarely stall Im scared of stopping in traffic going up hill and the car rolling backwards since here in Chicago people tail gate like crazy and also if someone cuts me off Im afraid Il go down shift to the wrong gear and stall. How long have u had the car? Do u still have it? Are u better now then a month ago? I was considering trading it for a Legacy V6. Where do u live?
@raulgomez902 downshifting isn't hard. basically just get in your car and do the shift pattern then do it backwards. this will help you feel you pattern to a greater extent. when you go into the lower gear you can either rev match or just slowly roll off the clutch.
@FernandoMendoza775 Learning manual is something everyone should know how to do. personally, if i ever have kids theyre learning before they even have their permits hah
@threal5capps Second lever is for 4-wheel drive engaging. This engages a transfer case, which is usually only on SUV's and trucks that have 4wheel drive or rear wheel drive.
If you don't let the clutch out slow while shifting after first gear, it leads to a very choppy and jerky ride, and probably will decrease the lifespan of your transmission, but it's not as bad as when you're letting the clutch out too quickly out of first gear. and it's not really a matter of speed in releasing the clutch, it's a matter of smoothness.
Tip for the wise: When stopping, DO NOT downshift into first until you completely stop. It is usually hard to put in until you are stopped. You may cause damage to your engine.
@fitzgerald434 yes offcourse it's mandatory if u want to get it done right as seen in this vid especially if ur a rook it helps u not to stall LOL!!!!!!!!!
One, brandon is hot. two, i lol'd alot, and three i seriously want to learn how to drive a stick shift... but i'm still stuck with an automatic. the bitches in the suv were som grenades tho haha
@mihai1993r i think thats a Toyota 4runner, maybe late 90s im not sure, i have basically the same car except its an Isuzu Rodeo, also the Honda Pilot looks pretty similar
That truck is beast, in Iceland last summer me and my uncle climbed to the top of a mountain which is 3139FT with this very truck. Put it in 4 wheel drive and it climbed flawlessly.
lmao man Tracey fucked you over at the traffic light man... i still remember when i first started driving manual my dad wouldn't let me go higher than third gear and the guy behind me started honking at me.... omg that was stressful.
p.s. you don't need to run it through the gears when slowing down that will wear out the clutch and gears quicker. just slow down in gear until you hit idling rpm (1000 in that car) then go into neutral.... thats best for your engine and tranny
this takes me back. i learned how to drive stick so i could inherit my dads old stang, and i stalled the car so many times he had to replace the clutch :/ suffice to say i didnt get the stang
wen u want to stop at a red light and u downshift to first gear, do you have to have your foot on the clutch the whole time the car is stopped, or u can just put it in neutral???
@flyleb you can do both. it just depends on how long your stopped and what your feel like. If your stopped for a short time or your first at a red light you should just hold your foot on the clutch the whole time your stopped. If your far back in traffic or your going to be stopped for a wile you should put it in neutral to save your left foot. Just make sure you put it in gear quick enough not to hold up traffic but not to fast to damage the transmission. But its up to you
question people,i'm open for answers, does it matter wether you start the car with the clutch pressing down,i start it without pressing down the clutch?
@buttsaab2520 kind of does matter. It will lurch forward if you don't hold the clutch. That means if your in a parking lot and a car is in front of your car, you might damage someones car. so yes, follow the steps
Well if you are in neutral when starting, technically it's all the same. However some cars won't allow you to start before pressing down the clutch, probably because of security reasons..
@buttsaab2520 its ok to start a car with it in neutral. Some cars wont let you start the car without pushing the clutch in. My pickup is like that. I recomend just pushing the clutch in and leaving the tranny in gear cause its quicker and easier on the tranny but ive started older viechles in neutral without the clutch it all depends on the viechle and your preference

@16shadow816 press gas then shift? WTH? You press in the clutch whenever you need to change gears. Most of the time I press the clutch while braking, but not necessary when you only want to slow down a bit.
ok so i put it on nuetral press the clutch an turn it on an then i press the gass an shift 2 1st? >.>...an wut bout wen i break do i have 2 press da clutch an shiftdown?...lol im kinda confused >.>

@aodknifer One thing I did when I was learning, is to put it in first, and keep your foot on the brake, then slowly let the clutch out. Don't give it any gas at all. And slowly, slowly, let the clutch out until you feel it about to stall. Do this over and over until you know where the clutch needs to be right before it stalls. Then, you can let the clutch out to just before that spot, and give it gas as you let off the clutch. This also helps on hills and stuff, as you won't roll backwards.
@wowdonkey if you let the clutch very slowly and don't give any gas you car won't stall and will begin to move (if in 1st gear of course). This usually happens with cars with a lot of torque at low revs. My friends Golf TDi does that.
