Who is also literally pictured in some encyclopedias in the entry for the term 'yellow journalism'.
And don't forget that one of the main reasons given for the prohibition of cannabis at the time by the government was that it was inspiring white women to have sexual relations with black men

Nowhere in the Bible does it say people cannot grow, possess, use or even smoke cannabis or that hemp is bad. In fact, quite the contrary: "God said, 'Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth. To you it will be for meat.' And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." (Genesis 1:29-31)

allaways misguided: "Cannabis has been proven to reduce intra-ocular pressure."
Yes, indeed it has shown anti-inflammatory properties and it is about as effective as using "Dandelions". Ask any eye-Doc how effective Pot acts as an anti-inflammatory for glaucoma. An Optometrist told me once that "You would have to be stoned 24/7 to get any potential benefit for treating it this way". The current anti-inflammatories used for treating glaucoma requires 2 drops!
allaways wrong: "Why not let people grow their own medicine?"
Again, this is just another attempt to high-jack the term "medicine to justify the use of an illegal narcotic. Dope has such a miniscule benefit that it can hardly be called "medicine". Buying into this propaganda is just as viable as calling Tea Tree Oil "medicine" as well.

You answered your own question for the likely reason for why not: "Because prescriptions are aftificial, made in a lab (i.e. patented), and expensive". So if you were a greedy inhumane person making a bundle off of this stuff why would you let people grow it and use it? Sounds conspiratorial but sadly that's often the nature of things when you're dealing with the ruling class and corporate power.
The gov't itself has done studies showing that it reduced tumors in rats, yet they still somehow claim it has no medical value. This is a monumental crime against humanity on the part of the entire medical establishment, government and probably the pharmaceutical industry
@TeetMauLau I'll look into Nabilone. All I know is that you can't overdose on marijuana, that is pretty important in my opinion considering we let people drink alcohol, a substance on which people can easily overdose.
1) What is the Word of God concerning marijuana, or cannabis hemp ?
The hemp plant (scientific name: cannabis, slang name: marijuana) is but one of the many useful herbs "yielding seed after its kind" (Genesis 1:12, 29) blessed by God on the third day of creation for people to use in conjunction with our free will. The only place in the Bible where Cannabis was mentioned by name got switched into 'calamus' by the King James translators as part of a holy ointment (described in Exodus 30:23).
gary:"What is the word of God concerning hemp...blessed by God"
Oh I see, just like the forbidden fruit was in the Garden allegory, right? And regarding your Ex 30:23 malignment you shouldn't omit the whole verse which accounted that calamus was to be used as a spice along with its companion cinnamon. I have heard of people trying to get stoned off of parsley, are you suggesting cinnamon may have some potential euphoric effect if we were to take your rail-splitting of Exodus?
gary"The hemp plant is but one of the many useful herbs "yielding seed after its kind"
Jesus was a Nazerene...not a hippie, nor does the Bible suggest such a dope-head doctrine. This is absurd. You obviously continue to confuse what was actually created vs what was corrupted after "The Fall". But again, that would require you had a minimal understanding of Biblical doctrine. You are ascribing your self-serving definition to common terms like seed, plants, and herbs. Don't be stoned.
Did you just take my name and change it? If you continue doing things like that I'm not going to continue debating with you.
Michael Phelps dominated in the Olympics. That is about as successful as a person can get, he occasionally used recreational marijuana, this proves that it is possible for a person enjoy this substance in the privacy of their own home in moderation and still get stuff done. This proves that not all "stoners" are lazy.
allaways wrong still: "Michael Phelps dominated in the Olympics...this proves that it is possible for a person enjoy this substance...This proves that not all "stoners" are lazy."
Not also does this prove a lot of short-sightedness when it comes to the fledgling examples of any positive role models for Elementary school children anymore...It also demonstrates that not everyone is like George Burns who smoked 20 cigars a day and lived to be 98. Ask any oncologist about following that example.
allaways Narrow-minded: "I will ask some oncologists if Phelps dabbling in marijuana is proof that people should be trusted to moderate their intake of this substance."
Indeed. But be sure to inquire how a person can develop a tolerance to dope. And how dope is a gateway drug to other stronger forms to meet a person's potential aspirations for feeling good about themselves. And ask the opinion of any swim coach who would like to support this behaviour? Would you do that for me too?
It is called an ad-hominem attack when you attack the person instead of the idea, there is no point in arguing with a brick wall. You may be right with some of your points, but there are many experts, many studies, many people with PhDs on the side of legalization.
allaways confused: "It is called an ad-hominem attack when you attack the person instead of the idea"
No. You have what is more aptly called the fallacy of the wrong definition following a non-sequitur argument. I have not spent my time debating over your self-esteem. I have aptly addressed your enthusiasm about legalizing dope with it's resultant consequences.
Yeah cause cannabis isn't an herb plant that grows from seed, instead it's transfered via interdimensional portal straight from hell to corrupt the youth of American and help lessen their autism!
The Bible also predicted prohibition: "In the later times, some shall speak lies in hypocrisy commanding to abstain from meats which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth." (Paul: 1 Timothy 1-4)
Rev gary:"The Bible also predicted prohibition...abstain from meats"
You should really read the first 2 verses of 1 Tim 4, and ask yourself why you are giving head to "seducing spirits" by coming up with this malarkey. This scripture is alien to your cathected thesis.
The Rev "So is your real issue that someone might feel good and therefore shoould go to prison? Don't eat that Apple pie!"
Your ruse is now exposed. Just ask Adam and Eve about their "apple" experience.
Oh I see...Now marijuana is being called "Medicine". This is another great attempt to high-jack another term for an intended ruse on the subject. Much like what happened to the term "liberal" which now defines the lunatic-left. What amazes me is the seizure of the issue that dope is now being paraded around as a potential universal solvent to include autism, without any substantial scientific-empirical evidence. But who cares about the facts...Al Gore evidently has no need of them either.
TeetMauLau - The Cannabis plant, or Marijuana, has been called "Medicine" for thousands of years. There's study after scientific double blind study which are all easily available if you wish to take the time to find them. There's also plenty of antidotal evidence of its value in some conditions such as Autism. I hope you'll be equally critical of those who profit from keeping cannabis illegal. pharmaceuticals, Oil Companies, Hearst Paper, Dupont , the Prison Industrial Complex, and many others.
gary: "I hope you'll be equally critical of those who profit from keeping cannabis illegal."
And I hope you posess the proper objectivity regarding those who would manipulate the facts, in order to legalize drugs. I'm sorry that I just don't buy into such unrelated and illogical conspiracy theories that Exxon-Mobil has anything to do with or concern with quashing the attempts to medicinalize pot. So if you are able to stay on topic without any of this tangential debate, this maybe productive.
I dont smoke marijuana. The primary issue to me is liberty to make ones own decisions about what is best for them. If you're a busy body, all the facts in the world won't change you. There's a world of diffference between having a person view on an issue and making personal decisions based on that view as I have, vs deciding your country should imprison more of her citizens than any nation in the history of the world because they disagree with my view.
gary: ""There's study after...study which are all easily available"
So where are they? I am willing to read what you claim, but you are not giving any reference here. Who's the researcher(s)? What are their credentials? In a time where even "scientific research" is being infected by private political agendas, it wouldn't surprise me if these "scientific" studies you are claiming to be so revealing is authored by "Dr. Cannabis Stavia". So where are they? Do they follow FDA guidelines?

I don't see what the big deal about it is, its not harmful, and if legalized, and taxed medically, the taxes alone could pay for every teachers salary in America. The drugs that doctors give patients that are apparently 'Medicine', are ridiculous, has anyone read the side effects of those? Big companies and their lobbyist set out to pay the politicians and government to keep it illegal to keep their own companies from going under. Watch the movie "Thankyou for smoking". it gives a good insight.
lolz: "I don't see what the big deal about it is, its not harmful"
That's because you are young enough to be making ignorant statements as this. Dope is a gateway drug. The potency of pot is WAY more than it used to be, just the way meth has done over the years. And trying to affix that such tax money would go toward "teachers salaries" is a uneducated highschool thesis. Don't you recall that was what the tribal casions were supposed to do? So where's the state's money for teachers union?
Ignorant? Gateway drug? First off, you shouldnt doubt the minds of the young people, we are the worlds future. Second off, I think calling Pot a gateway drug can't be proven as a fact, it depends on the person to do other drugs, not pot. You don't get stoned and say "Hm, now I want to try more drugs!". That would just depend on the person and what sort of perspective they have. And I'm not saying that it would go towards teacher salaries, I'm saying that it surely could though.
lolz:"Ignorant?...you shouldnt doubt the minds of the young people, we are the worlds future."
Yes you are ignorant. And no, I don't doubt the minds of young people who are not stoned and drunk. Unfortunately, it is these "young minds" of your paradigm that keep electing these politically flaccid fiends who work at distorting the young minds of the future.
Where do you get your facts? Marijuana is NOT a gateway drug. The biggest danger with marijuana today is it must be bought illegally and may be laced with harmful ingredients . Why do you think so many people say "I use to smoke it in college". Most don't even remember when or why they quit. It was a non event. I think we just disagree. You're for very big controlling nanny state government. I'm for big people. You're a liberal and that won't change. I'm for liberty and individualism.
lolz: "The drugs that doctors give patients that are apparently 'Medicine', are ridiculous, has anyone read the side effects of those?"
Yes, and oxycontin has been shown addictive? Your point? What you need to fuss up to is that pot is made to get stoned with. Increasing appetite and then coming out of the high (once called "burn out") causing one to sleep, is NOT the intended use...those are "side effects". You don't medicinalize something for side-effects.
You base you're entire argument on your own opinion. Where are YOUR facts. My Grandma passed away 2 years ago from cancer, she pretty much rotted because the cancer made her lose her appetite and nutrition, she never did any drugs and they never appealed to her, but I'm certain that if medical marijuana were available, she would have been around a while longer. Your argument is just quick wit, and strong opinion. Tell me something I'd listen to.
lolz:"You base you're entire argument on your own opinion."
What? And you are not giving yours? Difference is an opinion can be based on fact. Like it's my opinion that Pot can cause hyperactivity (something really good for a seizure sensitive child!).
lolz "Where are YOUR facts."
1) No empirical-scientific evidence exists to support the medicinalizing dope.
2) No FDA approval for your opinion on pot.
3) Medicine is not manufactured for the exlcusive intention for side effects.
lolz"My Grandma passed away 2 years ago from cancer...she never did any drugs and they never appealed to her, but I'm certain that if medical marijuana were available, she would have been around a while longer."
That's a pristine example of your defintion of "You base you're entire argument on your own opinion" with its resultant fallacy. In other words Pot stifles cancer and your grandmother who never appealed to drugs would suddenly start taking the dope. Why? Becaue Dr. lolz said so.
lolz making me lol: "Your argument is just quick wit, and strong opinion."
No, you take the cake for that missy, as I have easily shown. Labeling me with "quick wit" is in strong contrast to the dumb wit i'm conversing with. I'm afraid anything factual contrary to your over-idealistic health-care reform model will only cause you to steep lower with more inane dialogue. And trying to exploit your Grandmother in order to appeal to emotion is shameful. Your video is proof of your false humility
And you're comparing oxycontin to marijuana? You mention side effects? Every single prescription drug is use has many effects, some desirable, some not. The effects which address the condition the Rx was prescribed for are not called "side effects" . All the others are. The very same drug will be prescribed to another patient where the desired effect for that patient is one of the "side effects" to another patient. Rx drugs are extremely dangerous and patients should weigh benefits carefully.
Yes they are both narcotics that create a euphoric-mood altering event. What? Never heard of that?
gary"Where did you get your facts? Marijuana is not a gateway drug"
Since you like to insult ordinary intelligence. Let me direct you where these facts are omni-present. Have you ever inquired any person on meth, cocaine, heroine, etc..who said they never strated young with dope?
And the truth shall set you free brotha! (your hemp pastor)
So is your real issue that someone might feel good and therefore should go to prison? Don't eat that Apple pie!
"You don't medicinalize something for side-effects" is one of the most nieve statements I've ever heard. Every effect from every chemical from every pharmaceutical is a side effect of that chemical. Once prescribed, If one of the effects is desired, such as "sleep", it's no longer called a "side effect". Great thing about Cannabis? ZERO ANNUAL DEATHS FROM OVERDOSE!
Dr gary sez: "Every effect from every chemical from every pharmaceutical is a side effect"
Wrong. There is the TARGET effect or what is called the PRIMARY THERAPEUTIC EFFECT. ADVERSE and SECONDARY EFFECTS are deemed as side effects. Yes, sie effects of meds can be used to treat other symptoms. But you are blowing the facts way out of porportion to support your exposed ruse to the argument.
"No appetite? Just take this medical dope...sooo you may get stoned as a potential side effect".
Lyn Nofziger, one of Reagan's aides who helped come up with "just say no" came around after his daughter had cancer. The support for medical marijuana is growing. I support medical marijuana.
allaways stoned: "one of Reagan's aides who helped come up with "just say no" came around after his daughter had cancer. The support for medical marijuana is growing. I support medical marijuana."
This says nothing to which it fights cancer. How? What does it do? If you had Cancer would you be willing to exclusive yourself to an all out bong spree in exchange for any surgical intervention and/or chemotherapy and/or radiation treatment?
Why do you want this kid to not be able to do better? His mom says he's been improving, do you really think she's some kind of evil pro-marijauana conspirator or something? There must be a deep darkness in your soul to come up with such ridiculous convictions that you don't want a child who has a debilitating condition to improve from a plant that's completely non-lethal.
I mean his damn liver was giving out due to the stuff that they gave him before, and you're still against this? Most people who are against cannabis being legal even for 'recreational' purposes wouldn't be against this. Do you want him to DIE? So that you can be proven right in your ridiculous position? I know it's pointless to try to engage in debate with you as you've probably lost all your soul and humanity to indoctrination of some perverse so-called 'conservative' belief system.
lolz: "Big companies and their lobbyist set out to pay the politicians and government to keep it illegal to keep their own companies from going under."
Again, an intriguing conspiracy theory. I suppose you would have to ask Barney Frank's position on that. I'm sure his boyfriend would have some leverage with him, not just being his butt-monkey.
Again, your movie scenario only proves my point. That a big Tobacco guy needs to use twisted logic to influence lobbyists. Just like this channel
Wrong again. You have drawn the wrong conclusion. The original question was about politicians. I brought up a great example of a liar and a thief. The fact that you erroneously commented on this proves that you didn't know what the issue was. Barney Frank's "boyfriend" had been growing dope in their backyard. He got busted and Barney Frank denied ever knowing about it.
I've spent the last 2 months researching Marijuana & especially Medical Marijuana. I urge anyone who has a loved one who is sick to do the same. Double blind Scientific study after study:. Anecdotal evidence and story after story all reveal what is nothing short of criminal attempts to withhold this from the American people. Then, as if that weren't enough, they have for personal gain, imprisoned more people than any nation in history. The people who orchestrated this are criminals. I'm pissed!

TeetMauLau 2 years ago
Oh I see...Now marijuana is being called "Medicine". This is another great attempt to high-jack another term for an intended ruse on the subject. Much like what happened to the term "liberal" which now defines the lunatic-left. What amazes me is the seizure of the issue that dope is now being paraded around as a potential universal solvent to include autism, without any substantial scientific-empirical evidence. But who cares about the facts...Al Gore evidently has no need of them either.
TeetMauLau 2 years ago
TeetMauLau - The Cannabis plant, or Marijuana, has been called "Medicine" for thousands of years. There's study after scientific double blind study which are all easily available if you wish to take the time to find them. There's also plenty of antidotal evidence of its value in some conditions such as Autism. I hope you'll be equally critical of those who profit from keeping cannabis illegal. pharmaceuticals, Oil Companies, Hearst Paper, Dupont , the Prison Industrial Complex, and many others.
garyworkman 2 years ago
gary: "I hope you'll be equally critical of those who profit from keeping cannabis illegal."
TeetMauLau 2 years ago

Find 2,100+ published scientific studies at National Library of Medicine's PubMed website. Interest in cannabinoid therapeutics is result of discovery of the endocannabinoid regulatory system. Most modern investigation is limited to preclinical (animal) studies of individual cannabinoids ( THC or cannabidiol) or synthetic cannabinoid agonists (dronabinol or WIN 55,212-2) rather than investigations of whole plant material. US policy against cannabis requires most research be done outside US

TeetMauLau 2 years ago
And I'm not saying that it would go towards teacher salaries, I'm saying that it surely could though.
lolztori 2 years ago
lolz:"Ignorant?...you shouldnt doubt the minds of the young people, we are the worlds future."
Yes you are ignorant. And no, I don't doubt the minds of young people who are not stoned and drunk. Unfortunately, it is these "young minds" of your paradigm that keep electing these politically flaccid fiends who work at distorting the young minds of the future.
TeetMauLau 2 years ago

TeetMauLau 2 years ago
You base you're entire argument on your own opinion. Where are YOUR facts. My Grandma passed away 2 years ago from cancer, she pretty much rotted because the cancer made her lose her appetite and nutrition, she never did any drugs and they never appealed to her, but I'm certain that if medical marijuana were available, she would have been around a while longer. Your argument is just quick wit, and strong opinion. Tell me something I'd listen to.
lolztori 2 years ago
lolz:"You base you're entire argument on your own opinion."
TeetMauLau 2 years ago
lolz"My Grandma passed away 2 years ago from cancer...she never did any drugs and they never appealed to her, but I'm certain that if medical marijuana were available, she would have been around a while longer."
That's a pristine example of your defintion of "You base you're entire argument on your own opinion" with its resultant fallacy. In other words Pot stifles cancer and your grandmother who never appealed to drugs would suddenly start taking the dope. Why? Becaue Dr. lolz said so.
TeetMauLau 2 years ago
lolz making me lol: "Your argument is just quick wit, and strong opinion."

Rx drugs are extremely dangerous and patients should weigh benefits carefully.
garyworkman 2 years ago
gary"you're comparing oxycontin to marijuana?"

ZERO ANNUAL DEATHS FROM OVERDOSE!
garyworkman 2 years ago
Dr gary sez: "Every effect from every chemical from every pharmaceutical is a side effect"
Wrong. There is the TARGET effect or what is called the PRIMARY THERAPEUTIC EFFECT. ADVERSE and SECONDARY EFFECTS are deemed as side effects. Yes, sie effects of meds can be used to treat other symptoms. But you are blowing the facts way out of porportion to support your exposed ruse to the argument.
"No appetite? Just take this medical dope...sooo you may get stoned as a potential side effect".

There must be a deep darkness in your soul to come up with such ridiculous convictions that you don't want a child who has a debilitating condition to improve from a plant that's completely non-lethal.
dubified89 1 year ago

And yes, he's his butt-monkey

I've spent the last 2 months researching Marijuana & especially Medical Marijuana. I urge anyone who has a loved one who is sick to do the same. Double blind Scientific study after study:. Anecdotal evidence and story after story all reveal what is nothing short of criminal attempts to withhold this from the American people. Then, as if that weren't enough, they have for personal gain, imprisoned more people than any nation in history. The people who orchestrated this are criminals. I'm pissed!
