Just for accuracy, please: Dr. Sarah Ralston, one of the academicians participating in this report, gets horses from BLM for her school program and boasts of her relationship with BLM. She is on record for horse slaughter, and supports all BLM's wild horse policies: low AMLs and high livestock in HMAs. She clearly would not want to be on the record as being critical of BLM. She is "judging" roundups, but in a court would need to recuse herself because of this clear conflict of interest.
In Fiscal Year 2010, the number of direct fatalities (out of more than 11,000 horses and burros gathered) was 0.24 percent (that is, less than one-quarter of one percent of the total number captured). Two reports issued in the fall of 2010 – one by four independent, credentialed equine professionals and one by the Interior Department’s Office of Inspector General – found, without any ideological or political bias, that the BLM’s gathers of wild horses are conducted in a humane manner.
The BLM acts sweet and innocent , but everyone who is anyone Just adopts them so the BLM can no longer torture them I really feel bad for those poor horses there , they deserve to be free. if you dont believe how cruel these people are go to thecloudfoundation(dot)com and watch Congressional Appeal to halt roundups THEY ARE DRIVING MUSTANGS TO EXTINCTION
These horses are living in mud! You should be ashamed. What about thrush? What about hoof rot?? OPEN THE GATES & SET THEM FREE where they BELONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So you would rather them go to slaughter? These horses were rescued! You don't know if there had just been a rain storm, or snow. And, you clearly have never been to Oregon/Washington. It's a wet area. Think before you speak, thank you. Smart kids people are having these days...
@hansberrylovesyoux3 they do get sent to slaughter. Now a days they alow KBs AT the adoption events & horses over 10 or younger horses that have been passed up for adoption 3 times or more are sold to them in large groups (I have actual proof of this). Im also well aware of what the weather is like there, but maybe if the BLM wasnt spending thousands of $ on round-ups they could afford to put dry dirt or wood shavings in the pens so that the horses arent slipping & sliding around!
I will agree with you on the BLM money problems. But still, these animals are going up for adoption. This is just a holding facility. They can handle a little mud, but won't do them good if they are standing in it for very long.
@hansberrylovesyoux3 I know mustangs are hardy but you would think that as long as the BLM is doing extremely unneccesary round-ups they could try to minimize the injuries & deaths, but they look for any excuse to put down or sell horses. Also I was serious about the KBs being alowed at adoption events & being able to buy mustangs by the truck load. Now a days "adoption" isnt a %100 safe anymore. Not even close...
@hansberrylovesyoux3 & everyone knows that the BLM is just saying that the horses are in danger so that they can put in more cattle in their place & put in some pipeline. "Think before you speak, thank you. Smart kids people are having these days..."
Thanks for the video! I had forgotten all about this so imagine my surprise when I loaded it and was waiting for it to finish loading and was doing something else and I heard a familiar voice!
@BLMOREGON hi, im interested in adopting a wild horse and will like to know if they could be shipped over seas... Im from nicaragua and am totally in love with the history that comes with such beautifull animals, and are they costly? thanks love to hear from you..
@TheNancite Thank you for your interest in our wild horses. Unfortunately, we can't ship horses overseas, but we are glad to see you appreciate these magnificent animals. We hope you'll continue to view our videos and photos that showcase our mustangs and their legacy as “living symbols of the historic and pioneer spirit of the West.”

Yes, I do agree with you on that. Sorry about the misunderstanding. I thought this was a rescue group.
