In the original film the ship is hit from the port side. I think that's what starmanwrangler is thinking of. But starmanwrangler is correct as this clip is still inaccurate. The film clearly shows the right side of the set rising, and people are falling to the left. This clip shows the opposite. In the film, it's hit from the port side, so we have to imagine the camera facing stern, thus the roll of passengers to the left. You are both right and both wrong. lol.
Actually, the interior of the dining room in "The Poseidon Adventure" was a studio set styled very closely after the Queen Mary interior. It even reused relief panels and doors from "Cleopatra" (look closely and you will see Egyptian detail rather than Greek!). Great movie.
