Well, I live in South Australia myself and have heard these birds mimic everything from fire engine sirens to the traffic on nearby roads,Ii don't think i have heard one mimic a chainsaw but it would not surprise me one bit to hear a lyre bird mimic one, they are probably the most amazing mimic you would ever imagine and iIdon't blame people for thinking this is fake but trust me, it is real.
hang around with parrots for awhile birds do some awesome sounds.......nature in her "wisdom" can pretty invent anything....look at humans....can talk but can't think!!
I second what you are saying! But also ticked off that so many have just taken this from the BBC channel & claim it as their own. For all doubters of the lyrebird's calls, just go do some research or watch the BBC programme, "The Life of Birds with David Graham." People are so quick to label things they don't understand as fake & it amazes me that they can figure out how to watch videos, yet can't figure out how to look up a subject to study online. Vapid & dumb, the lot of of 'em!
Explain to me why David Attenborough would publish a documentary with false information? The bird mimics what it hears. As far as the bird is concerned, the chainsaws and camera shutters 'are' bird calls, and it will mimic them accordingly. I believe it is you who are the retard.
You are a fucking moron lelegotchugoincraz i have personally witnessed this bird mimic traffic, fire engines, multiple bird calls, children calling their mothers and on and on it goes, learn to spell can't and do some fucking research befor posting bullshit.
how about all of u stfu, stop bieng grammar nazis, and use ur time alittle more wisely then wasting oxygen insulting a young girl if i have incorrect facts im relaying wat i was taught if i was taught the wrong facts whos at fault surely not me excuse me for not checking the backround of every little thing i learn and pick up throught out my days
It's all believeable untill the chainsaw, even the camera shutter is believeable.. a bird could hear that and mimic easily, idfk! It's cool for sure though.
my cat walked over to the computer and started smelling the screen :)
