Hi Kimmaytube, so I just subscribed to your channel and it has been so informative. I have been sitting here watching your videos for two days off and on. I think you should keep up the good work, I was going to go back to relaxers, but I was actually insoired by you to keep going. I have been neglecting my hair for so long now. I have been natural for 1 yr 1/2 now. I will use the leave in conditioner recipe, and will let you know how it works for me. Be Blessed
WOW, This is the most visual and comprehensive guide to hair growth and maintenance I've seen. I am currently transitioning to natural hair, and so happy to have found your channel. Thank you for the super helpful information, I am a subscriber FOR LIFE. :)
OMGosh...I wish I had discovered "kimmaytube" years ago for these wonderful tips and guides!!! All have been very helpful!! Great add on to Cathy Howse teaching too...!! :^)
Wow this beautiful and has inspired me to make my own wall murial for a technology based information map... thanks for the inspiration! Oh and I like your natural hair videos too!
Fabulous visual representation! I am currently beginning to transition my hair from relaxed to natural and your videos were recommended to me by a friend. I have to say this visual guide is the most appropriate and informative thing I have seen on this subject. I can't wait to see how you ultimately fill the answers to these questions in.
@kimmaytube this was a beautiful rendition of understanding hair and it did make it easier to understand and see that there is a lot that goes into taking care of hair....
You probably are aware of a lot of African American women developing or is or has coped with the Folliculitis on the scalp where it has caused baldness from relaxers. What would you recommend someone to do in this situation. Some have went to dermatologist and received medication and treatment for it. My question is does the hair grow back from folliculitis over time or is the hair follicle damaged permanently?
21 people do not appreciate art and factual information how can u dislike such a master piece omg i watched this video till the end sch needs to be jus like this...
I wish I could hire you to do this for law classes, some of my work meetings, etc. Your voice is very soothing, but not boring. You explain things in laymen terms, you keep your audience's attention with your graphics, chart, organizational pairing of words. Someone as meticulous and OCD as myself absolutely LOVED this! I could watch this all day!
Wonderful! I have been natural for over fours years now and I grew my perm out over the course of two years. I have been sharing your videos and others with my friends that are also natural to help them take care of their hair. :) Thank you for helping me to improve the way I take care of my hair an helping others as well!.
awesome video!!! I must say i have learned so much from youtube as far as my hair goes. i'm grazing shoulder length! last year i was at neck length. my hair has never been as long as it is now in my adult years. I love learning new things about black hair!! Thanks so much for your videos.
you are awesome! I just thought I should say that. btw, do you know any ingredients to look for in oils (to seal hair) & moisturizers, & which ones to stay away from? I'm having a problem with breakage around the back & underneath the sides (on mostly the right side.)
wish my teachers could teach like this...lol i just sat for 10min quietly watching a utube vid n i get easily bored in class.wen this vid. finshed i was actually a bit mad it was done..amazing pic
I seriously have fallin in love with you, you have put a twist to how i look at my hair now, I'm now at the age of 24 ( I know I should be ashamed) where I want to take care of my hair, I haven't used perms in a year I just started exercising people say taking Biotin vitamins are good for hair. Heres the thing I when it comes to the routine of my hair I don't know where to start i usually was my hair twice a month and that's it..do you have any suggestions on improving the life in my hair?
nutrition part is so true. I went three months without being able to eat, it was not instant, but it was about the 3rd of 4th month in I started losing major amount of hair, for up to several months (even though I resumed eating) and lost about 60 percent of my hair~! I started with so much, that anyone who did not know me prior would not know. Its growing back a bit now but still not as thick!
Brilliant video. Can you do a video on scalp conditions, such as folliculitis and other conditions etc that might effect hair growth and also if hair growth becomes dormant? Any solutions?
This is information some of us already know, BUT a lot of us are visual learners... Thanks for teaching us new things & bringing everything to the light by illuminating the bigger picture for us!!!! ~Peace & Blessings~
Thanks so much for the videos that you make because in the so called "larger society" Black hair has been ridiculed and ignored therefore it's great to see someone like you educate Black people who are interested in treating our hair with "care"...
I appreciate this video. I've been natural for 15 years, but don't know much about how to care for it. I had been in a cycle of putting scissors in my hair every year or two because I don't know what to do with it when it gets to a certain length (I'm feeling that way now)...ahhhhhh!!!! However, I'm going to muddle through, continue learning and trying, and staying away from the scissors except for when it comes to trimming. Thank you!!!!
Graphic recordings is a great business. I was in a NEO training this past week for my company and one of the speakers presented several of these drawings.
I love this information..... for a long time I have been in a back and forth battle with my hair maintenance. I've cut it tons of times but instead of staying away from perms and other chemical back then, I just continued to use them. My problem was not fully understanding my hair and how to make it grow the length I desire. I thank you for posting these videos for the black natural in me. I just began on Dec 5, 2011. I plan to keep up my journey and NEVER use perm again! Now that I know better!
Very interesting especially because while watching you video I just did my big chop after being 'natural' (no relaxer) for six months. I don't like my hair at this stage - I have been natural before (five years) then cut it all off last october.
Help me to get my hair back to my natural state/healthy with length.
Kimmay you are awesome. I subscribed to your channel a long time ago, but this is the first time I have watched the videos subsequently. I need your help beyond hair care. What can you do for a sister like me with mediocre means?
Yay! I found you. When I was first deciding to go natural (year ago) I happened upon this video and thought I saved it to my favorites, but didn't. Have been looking for it for a while and happend to run accross another video of yours because someone mentioned you in theirs.
i was 12years old (natural) when i first found your channel i was very fustrated with my hair and wasn't sure if i should get a relaxer or not. Then, i saw your journey video and followed you every since and im 14 now and i just want too say thanks because now im natural and have long healthy hair... xox Jessica
Hi Kim. Great video. Did you know that Testosterone is a very big hormone that plays a role in hair growth. Too much testosterone in a female could lead to male pattern baldness. Women with PCOS get this a lot. You are also a great artist :)
You are amazing!!!! Just decide to go natural last week and i happen to find your videos and i'm learning quite a bit.... I'm so excited you have no idea!!!!
I plan conferences, I am a meeting planner and we have hired companies such as yours to do this type of brainstorming. It is great for breakout sessions. I am glad you incorporated it with your youtube channel.
wow i learnt about this diagramming technique just last week at school (i'm pursuing a bachelors degree in graphic design)! i give u A++++ on knowledge and application
This was so interesting I enjoyed every bit of it. May I ask what do you call this type of work? Sorry if you said it and I missed it I guess i was so englufed with your work it was very addicting to watch.
now that I've discovered Kimmay tube I tell every natural girl I come into contact with at work, gym... wherever. Love you Kimmay , keep up the good work!!! Houston loves ya!!
If you could put links in the video to explanations about the topics you discussed, that would make this video an amazing resources! Thank you for all of the information!
I am so glad to have found your channel. It has given me the little extra push to finally start on my natural hair journey. I am constantly inspired by youtubers who give advice and take us through their journeys of natural hair. I have therefore decide to start sharing mine. Thanks for the Advice you give.
haha amazing! I thing I have to watch it again haha I was just so fascinated with your artistic talent. It's very impressive how you brought all the topics together! Well explained! You're a hair scientist in my book! Wonder woman go girl!
Kimmay, that was amazing! You have got natural hair growth down to fine art, I saw thats what you did your degree in! You have been a true blessing to me and I'm sure many others, keep the vids coming :)
PS: If you were to sell this as a poster I would buy it
Thank you so much for your videos! I've learned so much from you. I have a bald spot at the top of my head and now the hair is starting to grow back but I keep getting hair bumps, is this normal?
Thank you Kimmay. I didn't even expect a response : ) Well, my sis and I are now "hooked" on you. We're anxious to start your leave-in conditioner. Be well.
that was amazing!!!... ive never heard of a the career that you have that is soo interesting and fasinating by what you can create.... great job with the diagram and explaination keep doing wat ur doing
I have just discovered you! Love it. Can't wait to try your techniques. Side: I work at Kaiser Perm. and I think I've seen a board that you may have done for them. I mean it looks just like your poster on hair. Thanks for sharing your expertise!
Yup. I worked with their team few years ago on a healthy lifestyle initiative. So the work could be mine, or someone else's. I'm sure they work with a variety of consultants.
I am a new subscriber to your channel. I can't fully express how blessed I am to have been lead to you & the information you so graciously share in your vids. I have been natural for 14 yrs & have NEVER really known how to properly care for my dull, dry hair even after visiting numerious stylists! I now feel empowered and more confident in having healthly hair and keeping it growing. Thank you Kim.
Very informative, thanks for posting these videos , it has been great help to me in understanding my hair and how to recover it. True say , stress has caused me boldness right in the middle of my head.At that time I was in my last year of university and everything was getting too much.
I never really took the time to watch this video all the way through before but now that i have i like the way u break it down into sections. It gives u a different understanding of your hair and how best to take care of it. I was noticeing a problem with my hair it was growing but now it's kinda stalled on me. I think i know what i have to do now to geet my hair back on track. I got the pH of my hair down a pH of 5 my hair loves it. Now i have to work on retaining length. Thank you kimmay.
i luv this! what is the exact title of your job if you dont mind me asking??? im in high school and this may be something id like to look into

Thank you so much for your videos! I've learned so much from you. I have a bald spot at the top of my head and now the hair is starting to grow back but I keep getting hair bumps, is this normal?

Thanks! :o)
