Wait isnt that the cable for model 1 genesis. Atleast in EU (Megadrive) the model one uses 8pin dim cable which cant handle stereo but the model 2 can since it has 9-pin dim? Is it different in the states or am i wrong al together?

The sound on my Genesis with the RF adapter sounds like 1000% pure shit. Please don't call me a troll, I'm considering upgrading to AV cables, would that help? All the thing plays is worse-than 8bit music; sounds nothing like the real music, jumping noises (sonic 2&3), and nothing at all (Altered Beast). Someone help?

I tried it on a couple of TV sets, from classic CRT's to modern LCD's. It only worked on an old LG CRT, although quality was pixel-perfect just as you said.

This doesn't answer your question but as a note, to get Stereo sound without headphones on the Genesis 1 I use a headphone to RCA cable. Since the headphone jack supports stereo, but the normal one doesn't. Just a note if you care about Stereo sound on a model 1, and don't want to use headphones.

On my Model 2, mine was hooked up from a "Cable" cable if you know what I mean, Then I got a Model 3 since my dad accidentally stepped on my Model 2... The video quality sucks, it's like the graphics have some weird vertical issues and some colors bleed outside the sprites... And it's not my TV doing this... I prefer the Monster Sega Genesis Model 1 though, even though I never tried it. 30lbs of awesomeness by Sega!

You've never heard of an RF Switch? What system did you play as a kid or are you not that old yet? Look up coaxial cable on Wikipedia for a picture and scroll down to connectors to see a picture of what we screwed into our TVs back in the 8 and 16-bit days.

Yes, indeed you can. If your RF switch that comes with the Genesis has another connector on the box, you can plug in another console into it, like a Super Nintendo for instance. The SNES > Genesis > TV train! All the while you have a PS2 in the AV plug! Cool, eh?

@SmoothCriminalAaron back in the day, most TV's did not have A/V inputs. U wpould have this RF switch, basically a splitter. U had to screw the tv cable in the switch, then screw these 2 forks tight onto your tv. It was hell sometimes, but easier than hooking up an atari.

You forgot to mention what happens when you combine the Sega CD & Sega 32X toghether, then connect them to a genereration 1 Sega Genesis, then plug the white, mono audio portion ot the Sega Genesis A/V MK-1634 Cable into the red stereo audio imput of television instead of the white imput & play a Phil Collins CD.

It always annoyed me that they didn't make all of these with stereo sound in mind. I was lucky enough to find a stereo Genesis cable on Ebay. They should have also built the Genesis to accept S-video as well, because it would have had the best visual output possible for it's time. Oh well, it is still a favorite of mine.
