I would be interested to see a similar demonstration of the software using the Sears Tower (which is what I'll always call that building). Given the unique "multiple buildings" construction of the Sears Tower it seems as though it would be a challenge to model.

@IdentifiableUser Demolition takes months to plan and install, not 72 hours. Columns need to be marked and exposed, beams would be partially cut and then charges set in place. However unlikely, It is possible that the demolition team were disguised as part of the maintenance crew and most of the work could be done at night while most of the offices are closed. All major buildings have a crew that works year round. They're made up of electricians, welders, and engineers.

WTC 7 didn't fall in to its own footprint. It caused 1.6 billion in damages to nearby structures all around it. WTC 3 was cut in half by the south Tower's collapse. It wasn't gradually weakened at the base by fire. And no tall building has ever experienced what the three towers did on 9/11. WTC 5 collapsed internally, but the smaller structures didn't have as heavy loads on their over-sized columns.

Let alone that no government in the world I can think of would be able to accomplish such a sophisticated plot. That they weren't able to stop those terrorists just proves how incompetent a government can be.

If skills aren't transferable, then why is Upset Recovery Training for commercial pilots (large aircraft) given in single engine aerobatic aircraft. An instrument rating means they were very precise.
Any idiot with the most basic of skills can crash a 767 in to a target. They're maneuverable and durable as hell, especially at high speed. It takes a good pilot to fly an aircraft safely

To answer your question, this simulation reproduces only the collapse and makes no assumption of its cause besides a bunch of failing columns. Why they failed is not essential for the simulation (and IMHO also not for reality).

@IdentifiableUser Demolition takes months to plan and install, not 72 hours. Columns need to be marked and exposed, beams would be partially cut and then charges set in place. However unlikely, It is possible that the demolition team were disguised as part of the maintenance crew and most of the work could be done at night while most of the offices are closed. All major buildings have a crew that works year round. They're made up of electricians, welders, and engineers.

WTC 7 didn't fall in to its own footprint. It caused 1.6 billion in damages to nearby structures all around it. WTC 3 was cut in half by the south Tower's collapse. It wasn't gradually weakened at the base by fire. And no tall building has ever experienced what the three towers did on 9/11. WTC 5 collapsed internally, but the smaller structures didn't have as heavy loads on their over-sized columns.

Let alone that no government in the world I can think of would be able to accomplish such a sophisticated plot. Continued. Please don't lie. Some 9/11 hijackers had instrument ratings, all of them had time in jet simulators.
All it took, before 9/11, to subdue the crew and passengers was the word 'bomb'. Flight 93 was delayed, once they learned of the plan it didn't work anymore. The aircraft didn't even come close to their limits. Even if they had, PSA 1771 crashed, at near sonic speeds, intact. Both aircraft types had been flutter tested twice.

@Weirdo10o4 Are you kidding me? What's an instrument rating in a single engine Cessna got to do with flying a 767. They were type rated for single engine aircraft only. They learned on Cessna 172's that weight 2500lb's, 767's weight around 200000lb's. None of them had any time in jets, none of them even had a twin rating. Everyone that knew them said they were shit pilots even in the 172. And a few hours in a simulator does not make a 767 pilot make. Complete and utter nonsense.

If skills aren't transferable, then why is Upset Recovery Training for commercial pilots (large aircraft) given in single engine aerobatic aircraft. An instrument rating means they were very precise.
Any idiot with the most basic of skills can crash a 767 in to a target. They're maneuverable and durable as hell, especially at high speed. It takes a good pilot to fly an aircraft safely
They had about a year more of flight training after they moved on from instructors who said that

That’s why type ratings exist. Just because you can manage a single engine Cessna don’t note mean you can fly a larger more complex aircraft, especially outside that aircrafts operating envelope. You're living in fantasyland so easy to understand you drinking the koolaid.

Type ratings means the pilot knows everything about the aircraft to operate it safely. Here's a quote from his flight instructor that granted Hanjour a commercial pilot's license in 1999: "Despite Hanjour's poor reviews, he did have some ability as a pilot... There's no doubt in my mind that once that [hijacked jet] got going, he could have pointed that plane at a building and hit it."

@KaiKostack Did you include the reinforced concrete elevator shafts? They at least would act differently than the steel structure yet they don't. What about one of the towers was not hit on center? Any kid who ever played with blocks knows a tower doesn't fall straight down when you take a corner out. What about most of the jet fuel went out in a huge fireball and had no real effect on the building? How does you simulation work out for building 7 ??

I mean surely none of the knives would have been recovered from the wreckage and there were obviously no survivors so, can you point out where that information originated? Excuse me but IMHO... If they failed due to the aircraft impact and subsequent heating by fuel then all we have limited cause for suspicion.
If however we have proof that the failure and collapse was due to deliberate design (nano thermite has been proven beyond all doubt to have been used) then we have grounds upon which to start a thorough investigation, ultimately a prosecution of those responsible.

I mean, steel is not that weak and engineers are not that dumb. However, in my opinion, your simulation is instantly a lot more believable if you were to present it as a simulation of a collapse by demolition. Are you?

@EvilSpaceJesus Why do you believe it would make any big difference for the collapse if it's caused by explosives, thermite or structural failure because of heat, provided that all those possibilities would have affected the same columns? To answer your question, this simulation reproduces only the collapse and makes no assumption of its cause besides a bunch of failing columns. Why they failed is not essential for the simulation (and IMHO also not for reality).
