Nimrods, the guy in the pink shirt and the white hat is none other than Paddy Clancy of the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. They are the Irish equivalent of the Beatles, Johnny Cash, and Willie Nelson all rolled up in band, and every bit as good and every bit as legendary. Their songs are all over YT, perhaps you should check out what did. By the way, Bob Dylan referred to Liam Clancy as the best ballad singer he ever heard if that matters.
Why did Ron Wood feel it necessary to instruct/signal Bob to go in for the second verse so early....He cut out a lot of potential solos doing that?......What a cluster fuck, but at least we can hear Eric above everyone else...
@ChrisJericho256 .....Yep, and for God's sake who the hell is the nimrod in the background in the pink shirt and wearing the white hat who can't even clap on beat? Gotta be somebody's over paid manager, no doubt. Sinead O'Connor should be put to sleep just for being there.
OK,thought i saw STEVE PERRY,GEORGE THROGOOD,AND WAS that a stone singing backup with a beatle? saw CASH,AND HIS KID.The only thing bad about it was Bob's voice...but that alway's did suck...wanna hear dylan with a good voice?listen to TOM PETTY>
How much i would give to have been there. All those music gods on one stage. To be in the same room as them would mesmerize me. Just watching this gave me chills. Amazing.
this is during the "The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration". really, this is considered one of the best live video in rock history. half the Gods are up there.
@BluesRockGuitarist this was Bob Dylan's 30th anniversary concert August 24 of 1993.
October 16, 1992, an impressive and eclectic group of artists gathered at Madison Square Garden in New York City for the purpose of celebrating the music of Bob Dylan on the occasion of his 30th anniversary of recording. Bringing together musical greats, the four-hour "Bobfest" was played in front of over 18,000 people and is on CD and DVD.
This is how the Monolithic Lawyer Music Cyclops Industry is fucked up: None of these brilliant guys were ever allowed to record together, because of "contractual clauses." Imagine if they had been able to stand up and say, "Fuck off, we're recording together!" Didn't happen until the Traveling Willbury's.
If I ever wanted someone to play at my funeral it would be Clapton and Neil Young. Clapton is a legend, and Young can simply shred a guitar into the upper sonic world
Wow, not to mention George Thorougood at 3:32 and G.E. Smith from the SNL band (with awful bowlcut), this is one of the best jams ever. You know they all got incredibly stoned after this one together.
@joycenicole16 looks like neil is the only one really getting down, he just wants to make some noise. clapton's standing there like a fuckin statue, dylan looks utterly miserable, tom petty is a nonentity, george harrison is just doing his thing, i love it
@Shreadathon12 Meh, some people keep their voices (Mick Jagger, Tom Petty, George Harrison, Neil Young) and some people lose them over the years (Roger Daltrey, Bob Dylan) but their music will always be remembered.
Yeah, Clapton's guitar is a little too over the top and I noticed he repeats a lot of guitar phrases when he solos. It gets kind of annoying and I think he's a little overrated, but not that much cause he's still a good guitarist in general and songwriter.
All of this unbelievable talent on stage together, and Bob Dylan does the lead vocals? I like Bob's lyrics, his dedication, his passion, but his voice leaves much to be desired. And Neil, hey buddy, slow down some. Just kidding, I love Neal too. Danke.
